I'm pretty convinced at this point that C-137, the Rick that the TV series follows, is different from the other Ricks of the multiverse and that's a big part of what gives him an edge against them. He's fundamentally familiar with how other Ricks think, but doesn't quite think like them nor is he motivated by the same things. He's still "A different kind of Rick", and can use that to his advantage in that he can predict what they would do but they can't predict what he will do. As such, a lot of the traps around his house are likely very different from the ones in most universes, and he probably takes care of re-renovating after every time he has to jump universes.

Although many comics take stuff far removed from reality and especially at times Rick and Morty can be a far stretch of even imagination, Gravity does play a role in the affects on time. So while Rick himself may not like to use time travel in the Theoretical sense he does travel through time in a different and literal sense.

They are teleporting (closest analogy). As far multidimensionality is concerned, it depends on their take of each universe. To me, it looks like stacking universes on top of each other, which means that no universe actually ends and births a new universe, no time travel. It looks 1-1, but every person that pops into a universe actually adds mass, which accelerates time (Check interstellar movie for better interpretation.

What I think you have misinterpreted is that to others, they looked like they travelled through time. In fact, my whole point is that they have NEVER gone backwards, which would be a true travelling through time. The fact that Time and space are literally tied to each other means any time they would travel through space they are actually time travelling. But no where do they actually ONLY travel through time. Futurama had a great episode on Time travel where Fry missed his one date with Leela. When the universe died, it birthed a new one in the exact same spacial location, slightly down. The one who mess with Time in the first place get curvatured in infinite, i.e. snake planet gets temporally nuked and anything inside that part of space is removed from Time itself. The cat episode was Just before, and low and behold but it seems like that cat is schroedingers cat, which means the entirety of anything from them til the end of the snake episode could have been entirely theoretical. Exactly like the episode where they break Time and Schleemypants has to fix the 2-64 different versions of Rick and Morty. The fact that the snake trying to save Jerry literally says he's an alternate version before he gets checked into his permanent seep, means that it's not exactly time but again space as well, because it more or less deals with multiple universes. As for vat of acid. He literally says he just transfers his consciousness to another exactly placed in time universe that eventually gets destroyed. I know nothing of the comics, all I know is all these episodes come before the Squid episode, which again leads me to believe that Rock Prime does not Time Travel. He even says so in vat of acid.
