As of writing this, I'm 8 chapters in, so you'll get to see my authentic experience with the story and combat in the first several videos. This also means that any tips or advice you have will either be something I discover on my own or won't be implemented until later in the series. Great gameplay 🎉🎉, Don't play Crisis Core after finishing this one, it will give you a lot of spoilers, it is a game for those who played the original, after the remake go to Rebirth and then wait for the third game to be released, Crisis Core removes the plot twists from the third game that will be released later.

Agreed. Avoid Crisis Core (and crisis core reunion) as well as the movie Advent Children. Both heavily spoil the future of the game. Best to save those until after the final game in the trilogy.

@@cloudsi hmm, I don't completely agree. It's true Crisis Core removes from equation one of the main plot points as it tells you exactly what happened... But at the same time it adds SO much emotional weight to the story and so much background to the characters, that I would say it's a fair tradeoff

I agree. Unless you don't care about spoilers, you should avoid Crisis Core. I would play it only after finishing the OG, in case you're planning to play that after Rebirth.

The original FFVII is one of the games that inspired me to an eventual career as a game designer/systems developer in the industry, but as both a fan and career, this Remake just does EVERYTHING right, and then some. The frame-y stuttering at the beginning is just a weird bug the PC version has. I think there is a mod that fixes it, but not an official patch or anything.

Welcome to the ff7 universe!! Its such a wild ride and tons of fun I love finding new streamers dipping into it. Theres two popular "routes" with this series, because the "remake" series is a rebuild of the original it takes all the different games/movies in the compilation and kinda mixes them up, so for new players going into remake blind its usually recommended to continue to go blind from remake straight into rebirth. Some fans recommend playing crisis core but If you do youll technically get spoiled on stuff thats not revealed until later in the original game. The other option is going back and playing the original, then crisis core and all the other stuff in the series (but thats a big undertaking and not many streamers do it that way lol) regardless im sure youll have a blast! This story/game is iconic and highly renowened for a reason 😁😁

@@cloudsi if you want the full surprises and don't play the original then you shouldn't really play crisis core until even after the 3rd remake title comes out (its name isnt announced yet) because what it spoils wasn't in rebirth yet either, just hinted at. It's also worth mentioning that because its a rebuild of the series that the games will hint at or reference stuff from the original that you wont catch blind, they've kind of set it up in a way so that its fresh/interesting for people who played OG but also not tooooo confusing for blind players it walks a pretty fine line sometimes tbh lol.

Well done, combat takes some getting used to. I love FF VII, imo one of the best stories ever written. Remember to guard in punisher mode > super strong attack if you do. Also, you need ATB to use abilities, magic and items. Happy playing! 🙂

Your ability to pause is your ATB and items menu your meant (alowwed) to use abilities and items often youll get used to it the game does a pretty good job of throwing you into lots of varied combat early and a fairly tough 1st boss

I haven't watched the whole thing, got as far as the scorpion but a couple of things that might help: - you read a reference to ATB quite a few times but didn't seem to understand what that was (which is fair as the tutorial doesn't do a great job of showing it). Bottom right graphic had your two characters with some info. At the top is HP (health) and right is MP (magic points). Under health is ATB and is split in to 2 sections. When you damage or get damaged you will see it fill up until a section is complete. You then get and audio and visual queue to tell you that abilities are now available. That is why sometimes you tried to heal and nothing was available to select... you need to have a ATB charge for anything that isn't a basic attack. Also, to the right of that is limit gauge. Once it is full it pulses and you then know who has a limit break available. - Magic - when you have an ATB charge you can use Magic. This shows up as 'spells' in the menu. Things like the scorpion are vulnerable to certain magics... the scorpion was vulnerable to lightning (Cloud told you in some dialogue). Using the right ones both does a lot of damage and also increases the enemies stagger bar. - check those corners! You missed a few item boxes. They love hiding them in little corridors or behind things! Hope this helps and you can enjoy the battles a bit more.

@cloudsi I have watched a few of these and have thought the explanation about ATB gets missed a lot but I have also always thought the tutorial itself really doesn't help because it relies on you knowing where to look in the first place. And yes, missing loot is always very sad! Even more possibilities to miss it in Rebirth!

New reactor, oh you are in for a roller coaster xD Rebirth (2nd part) is also coming in January so you can actually continue it ^^ It may be confusing for new players but answers will come with time so don't worry, also i hope you enjoy the games, when you get to part2 you will see the change from this one (that is already amazing) its like a new game, Rebirth is easily one of my favs ever. I love blind playthroughs of remake and rebirth im grabbing popcorn! Best games youll want to make time haha ... not sure if your saavy with PC mods but theres an hd photo realistic reshade thats 100 percent worth it .. think it adds ray tracing and stuff it simpy looks like a completly diff expirience from ps4/5 okay ill shut up Jesse wedge and biggs are in like 7 or 8 diff final fantasys at least

A really helpful mod that should help with the stutter is “Disable Dynamic Resolution.” It doesn’t change anything in the game but FF7R is constantly changing resolution, which can bog down a GPU. That mod stabilizes it to whatever resolution you picked.

You need to run the game in DX11 on PC. DX12 makes it choppy on PC for whatever reason. Hope you enjoy the game! It's quite an adventure!

(i have yet to experience Red Dead Redemption) Final Fantasy VII Remake is always the SECOND game of my recommendation after God of War series. Then its going to be Horizon Zero Dawn. i played Final Fantasy VII (OG) on PlayStation ONE decades ago. The story was very confusing for me with my very young brain, so do expect plot twists for the Remake as well. And because of that, i was leaning more towards Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX back then with their (kind of) more straight forward stories. And i am glad to know you have experienced the iconic Final Fantasy X. Glad seeing you play FF7R. Cheers.

I disagree with the other comment. I highly suggest going to Crisis core after FF7Remake to better understand what's going on moving forward. Rebirth and beyond. Imo it's better to play the story as it happens chronologically. I believe It's the reason why they put out Crisis core before rebirth. Let's just say it's like Star Wars. Would you watch A new hope first? Or The Phantom Menace. In my case, I watched Phantom Menace first, all the way to Return of the Jedi. In the end it's in what you decide I guess. Goodluck.

In fact, certain things hit different when watching the prequel trilogy after the original. I think it’s all subjective which is a good thing because I’ll probably be happy either way 😂

Back then many streamers positioned their portraits at the lower corner of screens and it looks like their backgrounds were not visible except their gaming chair. I think that was much better.

I was wondering if you were going to say that you had at least heard of or seen the original game, but it sounds like you aren't that familiar with it other than these characters being iconic😂 So far from what I understand, this is a completely rebuilt version of the original original game, it's different but many of the same assets are in it alongside the characters-the compilation is just including a lot of things from extra content. FFVII is square Enix's baby, the devs went absolutely crazy, releasing new and different types of lore over the years.❤

@@BaldusCattus Well tbf, the shippers kind of take over the community. The ship wars is the only thing that I see the fandom talk about. You also won't believe how many people have told me personally to stay away from the fandom. I've seen a lot of people in this community, not all, but a lot of them act like a cult and if you don't cater to their will, they go as far as to harass you, insult you, or even threaten you over it. Some people in this fandom even defend individuals that have committed crimes all because they share the same opinion on the characters. Frankly, it really doesn't matter what you're trying to discuss when it comes to this game, it 95% of the time ends up leading to an argument. It's no joke...

Ya know you really should've watched a playthrough movie of the OG FF7 game before starting this new remake of it cause there are some parts in this that are gonna confuse you.

Ill mention it just because its easy to miss this. Sephiroth is a psycho. When he says: Run cloud... Run away! You have to leave, you have to live and then smirks. Those were Cloud's mother last words to him. So cloud gets pissed off.

She’s not supposed to know that at that point in the game… why do you even spoil it, that’s beyond me. @cloudsi: Luckily knowing that piece of information is not a -big- deal but I’d advise you to be extremely cautious with the comments. As you can see, some FF7 fans just love to spoil the game and ruin the fun to new streamers for some unknown reason. I would suggest to have some mod to review the comments before reading anything to avoid more important spoilers. I’ve seen it on some other new FF7 streamers and it’s very sad how toxic this community can be :( Can’t wait nonetheless to see the rest of your playthrough!

@@cloudsi Yeah was spoilery. The storytelling is kind of subtle in a lot of ways, the spoiler is 'subtle' when it comes up, it's been such a long time many people don't pick up on it. Maybe he was saying it for that reason, but yeah, still a spoiler. Hope you enjoy your ff7 adventure :)

Rebirth just got announced to be released on PC, probably a good time to watch your playthrough, I myself has been waiting for the PC version. Good time to get into the universe. As someone who's gotten all achievements in the classic FF7 and the Remake, I think you're in for a treat.
