Also well done spotting Pikachu in the crowd - he is a regular at nearly all BABYMETAL concerts. As has already been said, the Legend 1997 concert was performed on 21st December 2013, the day after lead singer Su-metal's 16th birthday (she has just celebrated her 25th birthday this week). She was born in 1997, Yuimetal and Moametal were both born in 1999 and they were 14 in this video. The Kami Band are the band supporting BABYMETAL in this video. Up until this concert they only played at a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows. In this one they played for the last 5 songs. At BABYMETAL's next big shows at the Budokan in Tokyo in March 2014 the Kami band became their full time support for all live shows and they have been with them ever since (although there is a Kami Band of the West - American musicians - who played the 2019 US and 2020 Europe tours). Kami means god or spirit, so they are the gods of guitar, bass and drums summoned from the dead to support BABYMETAL - that is why they wear the corpse face paint and traditional burial robes. More recently the robes are black and masks have replaced the face paint - nobody likes the masks, we want to see their faces. Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal Galaxy 🦊🤘 This is a great suggestion to start your BM journey, get ready for more insane live performance and songs. Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! is one BM fans favorite and got special meaning too. Song is about a 15 years old celebrating her birthday going to her first live concert, probably metal, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind. Isn't about any of our girls but they embraced this song like it was made for them, you'll find many special versions of this, even when they celebrate 20 Birthday, that's another coming of age, although is officially 18 since this year. This was at Legend 1997 in December 21, 2013 (almost 9 years ago) celebrating SuMetal 16th Birthday, and the whole concert was special, if you want to know the rest of the songs finishing this, those are: - "Akatsuki" Unfinished Version, a beautiful SuMetal solo version with only a piano behind. - Babymetal Death, be ready for this mind blowing ending. The live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore. The statue behind is a tribute to Lady Justice from Metallica but this is an image with SuMetal resemblance since the whole concert is not only to celebrate her b-day but also to represent the death and rebirth, again watch "Babymetal Death" to know what i mean. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute), mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms, they are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist. *MoaMetal* scream and dance. *YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018. None of them are related. The Kami Band playing behind is a set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (specially the guitarrists). "Kami" means roughly "god" and they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities, is indirectly inspired in KISS, actually the inspiration was took mainly from Japanese bands like Seikima-ii and X-Japan. They are: - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, sadly he passed away in 2018. R.I.P. - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. We know Amuse is very hard to deal with copyright blocked issues, fortunately we got a way to go around with "Babymetal Reactor Resource" YT place, you'll get full original clips of their best live performance with watermarked logo safe to react, look for "Future Plans" vid, follow instructions and you'll get all of them, upload the one with the logo for us and you can watch without it, don't worry for us we already saw all of them. You'll find some watermarked clips in the channel also with the description and where to get the non-logo version. If you want you can watch the original clean version and pause whenever you like to say your comment and after that you can put a logo provided in the same place so you can enjoy a clean version from the beginning. You can also put some heavy opacity and translucent effect to avoid those issues if necessary. However there are some safe clips to react like those from Legend 1997 or some of Budokan 2014 or previous to this year and Festivals that is out of reach from Amuse hands. By all means AVOID live compilations at least for first time watching, not saying all of them are bad but chances are you'll end up facing the bad ones bad edited, very confusing, switching costumes and distracting you from the performance and meaning of the song. Also avoid Glastonbury Festival performance, the sound is bad and the crowd isn't the usual fans. Here's some examples of safe to react live performances: - "Megitsune" live at Budokan 2014, "Kawaii Metal" channel got a safe clip to react but again i recommend you first the official MV, just take precautions by putting some filters. - "Rondo Of Nightmare" with Mischiefs Of Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, this one normally is safe to react without any filters. ("Kawaii Metal" channel got this) - "Catch Me If You Can", you got live at Budokan 2014 with subtitles version at GuilhermeCait channel or live at MetroRock 2015 in Babymetal Reactor Resource channel under the title "CMIYC". - "Ijime Dame Zettai" live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 (lately hasn't been so safe, so careful) - "Karate" live at Download Festival 2016 ("kitsune6001" channel got this one) If you follow this step by step you won't have blocked issues the majority of times, but sometimes there has been issues with certain songs so if you got those try to put opacity, blur or translucent effect, that might help a little bit. Can you believe that this is the 12th song after 11 exhausting performance (and still 2 more) ? In this video, you heard the crowd shout some words at 07:49. The words are "ki-e-ro 消えろ!" meaning "get out of here!" (addressed to crybabies in the metal concert). This crowd's shout in Japanese occurs wherever BM goes on this planet and whenever Su-Metal turns her mic towards audiences. Of course it did in 2019 US tour (20 gigs) and 2020 Europe tour (17 gigs). Last year 2021, eight years after this video, BM played this song in all of 10 BABYMETAL BUDOKAN Concerts with Su's matured voice and Moa's more agitating moves. I witnessed it 9 times at the venue and was enchanted to headbang 9 times ヽ(^o^)丿

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 I was thrilled when they brought this song back into the setlist in 2019. It was great to finally got to hear it live. Even though 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' is about a fifteen year old girl attending her first heavy concert, lead singer Su was only fourteen when the song was originally released. It's not biographical, but it is a song she could relate to. At that age she was on stage, rather than taking the train to go see concerts like the girl in the song. Both Yui and Moa (the two younger members) got to take over on lead vocals on this one for a few shows near their fifteenth birthdays in 2014. More recently both Su (2017) and Moa (2019) performed it on concerts close to their 20th birthdays, with a slight lyric change (15 to 20). The 20th birthday is a very important one in Japan. That's the traditional age of adulthood.

Good reaction, thanks! This performance is from the show "Legend 1997" held at the Makuhari Messe on December 21st 2013. And it was Su-metal's (the lead singer) 16th birthday party. Yes, she has a special ability to perform at full throttle while she's still able to sing flawlessly. Not to mention her stage presence. And those were the main reasons why BABYMETAl was formed around her. Good job spotting the Pikachu among the crowd. The person in that costume was probably roasting alive. That's dedication! The Kami Band members wear traditional burial robes and face paint depicting gods (kamis) or spirits. "Headbanger" is a great song, a classic and an early work. As it's been said, the lyrics are very significative to the point they used the song in several special occasions, like birthday related concerts, passing the mic to Yui and Moa or even changing slightly the lyrics for Su's and Moa's 20th birthdays. this video was shot the day after Su (lead singer) turned 16. The show title Legend 1997 is a tribute to Su's birth year. The song is about a girl going to a concert on the night of her 15th (ichi go) birthday. !5 is like a coming of age in Japan, like a sweet 16 in the US. and the girl in the song is basically saying goodbye to her child hood. The two other girls Moa and Yui are 14 in this video. The band, is called the Kami Band, kami meaning god/spirit, thus the reason they are white face dressed in robes. and yes, there was someone there dressed as pikachu.
