My Funny Valentine This is my 137th time listening to this MASTERPIECE and each time I experience a new level of perfection by our ethereal prodigy extraordinaire, Angelina Jordan. When you listen to the A cappella portions of this performance at the very end of the song you are truly experiencing the genius of Angelina Jordan’s PERFECT PITCH. Sinatra, rest in peace Angelina Jordan, the Bare Foot Queen has taken the crown and there is nothing like her in the universe. When I first heard her perform this. I put it on pause and brought up Sinatra, Bublé, Streisand, Fitzgerald and Vaughan's version of this song to compare it to AJ version, and none of them moved me like this version. It is so hard to comprehend that Angelina from 7 to 16 is the greatest story telling being in my 75 years of experiencing great vocalist and I can't wait for the rest of the story. We are not only hearing it, but we are also feeling each word as though she were singing to each of us individually. She is the only one in this universe that is capable of making us feel the true emotion of this ballad. There is no way to explain this gift that has been given to the universe, does she even know, or understand the power she encompasses?

O.K. she looks just as beautiful with her brown eyes. Also anyone that thinks she doesn't sound just like this live, have never heard her live. In fact in my humble estimation she sounds better live. Angelina is one of a handful of young singers that were born in 2006 that are going to leave their marks in music. However, I get yelled at when I suggest other singers on an Angelina song. Even though I've never said she isn't one of two to three singers that I consider the best on the planet. I have been following Angelina since a long night in November 2017. I knew she was touched by God then and nothing has changed my mind from that belief. I'll bet I listen to 4-5 of her songs a day. I also listen to other singers who speak to different parts of my soul. I love this song and she is a natural choice to sing it. She is a special talent. One that I will listen to until my time is up. She has been a tremendous source of comfort when the pain and anxiety get the better of me. Thank you for your reaction we all feel the same way. P.S. What you don't see are the hours that this girl puts in to make look 'easy'. Her work ethic is considerable so she puts in the work to enjoy the performance. No one is in charge of her career except Angelina. As her mom said years ago, "this is her show, if she said stop tomorrow, you'd never see her again".

The sultry voice of a 16 year old. This young lady could melt an iceberg with her warm, huggable vocal abilities. She evokes Peggy Lee singing Fever with her own original song 7th Heaven. Julie London had that “come hither” voice as well, but Angelina can out do ANY voice and any style. Love your comments, Jen. I've heard everything (or almost) that Angelina has ever performed, and most multiple times. In this performance she shows more of her incredible skill set than any other. I mean, we get to hear it all here---low register, vocal fry, runs, whisper voice, chest voice, falcetto, belting, transitions. Absolutely Amazing!!! For me, her last 3 music videos, starting with this one, are her best performances. So, she just keeps betting better and better. This is so incredibly beautiful: I have listened to it over and over and over again. She dances, slips and slides from note to note, toys with rhythm and pauses and uses her voice in so many different ways. All these ingredients lead to this magnificent version of this epic classic. Angelina is a threefold time shifter. First of all she makes you forget time when listening to her and you get lost in her singing: taking a break from all your worries so to speak and yes it helps a lot. Secondly she takes you back in time and lets you hear music as it was made 50-70 years ago. Her third ability is taking old classics and bring them into the present. Of course you want to protect her: national/global treasures deserve protection :-) You might also like listening to her performances during recent concerts. The video is zoomed in on Angelina so we see her facial expressions and passion better, and in this performance she extends the song quite a bit longer than the other ones I have seen. In some respects, I am reminded of Shirley Temple (Black) as a child. Shirley Temple in her childhood was very animated. Her cuteness matched with the natural charm she possessed as a child developed into a successful wonderful woman. Two different but talented creations. Last December one evening I'm scrolling thru youtube videos see if anything looked interesting. I got fed up with scrolling as I couldn't find anything that caught my eye. I was about to get out of youtube when I came across AJ singing "I Put a Spell On You:" Watching Angelina that night singing that song was a major game changer for me as because of her, not only did I do a very deep, deep dive into ALL her songs, videos, albums, et c. since, but she was the one responsible for introducing me to the world of jazz and big band music. Growing up I knew of big band music and jazz but never appeal to me What appeal to me going into teens was and still is rock & roll. I get a kick of the early bands like the Beatles and so many more how these days its referred to as "Classic Rock" Angelina as you mentioned is most certainly an old soul, beautifully bringing back these timeless Jazz and Big Band songs from the past because she is one in a billion who can immerse herself into these songs and they become her. And now she is coming into her own with her song writing. If people think Taylor Swift is making an impact and she definitely is, no doubt! Same with AJ. , maybe even more so. Time will tell I guess. Now to switch gears a little bit and why I'm writing to you. There is another "one" older than AJ, when she "hit the scene" but in line how she sings. Her name is Alice Fredenham. Have you heard of her per chance? Her star shot to the moon with her cover of "My Funny Valentine" in her first audition on Britain's Got Talent in 2013. You will see a nice listing of songs she has done and all so out of this world the way she sings them. Its the several videos she has out that will knock you out, because the way she performs them. You mentioned yourself in a jazz nightclub watching AJ perform. You see that with Alice in the all too short of a selection video performances of Alice. Alice was 28 yrs of age when she performed on BGT. She is around 38 years old now. From her first appearance on BGT, til her first and only album in 20117 she has on youtube maybe about 10 -012 songs she has recorded. She produced an album around 2017 titled" Under the Covers" Shortly after that, unfortunately for us fans, she retired from the music industry. No one knows why and those close to her, family, friends, manager, record producer will not comment. So there you have it A sensational, truly remarkable gifted singer who left us only a very few songs to enjoy. However they are ones for the ages! I believe even though she may never come back, Alice left us a legacy. Be interesting to see Jen if you agree by one day possibly doing a reaction to Alice's singing. I suggest if you do, either her first audition on BGT or her live studio video performance of "Why Dont You Call Me" Coincidentally enough a black & white video like Angelina's, "I Put a Spell on You" - My first crying on one of AJ's songs was her cover of "Suspicious Mind" The moment she hit that first note, it took my breath away, then I lost it emotionally. I didn't cry with I Put a Spell on You, the very song of hers' I heard. More like fainted!

hi Jen. Isn’t AJ just an angel. Her voice captivates… another and as a suggestion to react to is Alice Fredenham singing this song or maybe her cover of Prince’s song - “Why Don’t You Call me Anymore”. it a black & white studio recording. Like AJ Alice has a very beautiful sultry type of voice. It can literally mesmerize you & take you back to when jazz was at its peak. Hope you check her out. I’m sure you’ll be very pleased Cheers

Which I think is the best thing she has recorded at this point that showcases all of her voices colors and textures as a jazz singer. Now go listen to her sing this song as a 10 year old. Grown up Angie is amazing and will continue to get more amazing. Young Angie is just pure magic. It’s just astonishing to see her in her younger years channeling that old soul you speak of. So doing this song at 10 with grandma filming on a cell phone and a backtrack she just sings her heart out.
