So I think this is my 3 or 4 time with your reactions, but this time I'm a subscriber! Whitney H was a soprano and Angelina is not, so keep that in mind. Also, Angelina is 16 and not into the fullness of her mature voice yet. Angelina takes us beautifully through all of the doors in this song, and then sends us home with the long velvet ribbon of that last note. I love how Angelina pays respect and honor to WH in this song. 1. The dress 2. The over-voice in that one section is a deliberate nod to Whitney. Angelina bring such compassion to her artistry. From the earliest of ages, she was choosing songs of people that suffered, really suffered in life. You definitely went to bed with a smile on your face. Jen, there are video's which can showcase Angelina's range going very high. Obviously, in her version of 'I Have Nothing' she chose not to belt out the very high notes that became Whitney's signature moments. She wanted her performance to be judged on not how well she belted out the high notes but rather on how she interpreted the song her way but, like you said, never taking away from the integrity of the song. When she first recorded a version of this song (when she was 12) it was titled "a tribute" to Whitney Houston. She too, became a big fan of Whitney and I'll bet she does do more of her down the road.

One of the best reactions to anything ever. Emotional and sincere and heartfelt. And you know as well as anyone that Angelina makes people cry all the time, I'm just glad to see you looking so good. The first song Angelina ever sang, at 18 months old, was I Will Always Love You, and David Foster, who wrote songs for Whitney, is a big Angelina supporter within the industry. Pictures of David at the piano with 12 year old Angelina, and then Angelina at the piano with him working with her. So there is a definite connection between Whitney and Angelina. There are several videos of Angelina singing this song, it was part of her set list for her concerts this past summer. The Norwegian TV video of her singing this on the outdoor stage is visually spectacular (same dress, it's light blue) but this earlier studio track has the best sound

The Body Guard movie had Whitney singing I Will Always Love You written by Dolly Parton. Angelina sang that song at home with just a single guitar at age 10 to the Whitney arraignment. WH was 29 in a studio for a couple of days working with David Foster to get I Have Nothing right. David flew to Norway the work with Angelina when she was 8. He’s world with her several times since as well. AJ sang this at age 13 to a backing track in her home and that is an outstanding version too. The one thing that separates Angelina from all the rest is the fact that she makes you feel the music. It is a rare and special gift few people have. Just stop and listen to how she sings the line (I don't want to hurt anymore). You just don't hear the words but you feel them too. There are a lot of good singers out there but she is special because of this gift of being able to make you feel the music instead of just listening to it. You can find it in several other of her songs also. Million Miles is another one that makes you feel the pain of losing her Grandfather. You can feel the hurt and the pain that she is feeling as she sings the song.

This performance is beyond belief, the cinemaphotography, the ART, and this time we get to savor over 4 minutes of total bliss, no one is capable of doing this song justice like Angelina Jordan. David Foster and Linda Thompson, who co-wrote this ballad for Whitney Houston would be blown away by this performance. She changed the key to this song, but does it really matter as long as she has the ability to give each word, or phrase, meaning like no one else in this universe can. How can she evoke such emotion in each and every performance? Why do I get chills, or cry tears, or lose my breath when Angelina sing a song that I have experienced many times in the past without this happening? I'll add to the shoe story. She was 6, in Iran, it was cold, she met a little girl who was a street vendor and talked to her, probably in Farsi (Iranian). She ended up giving her her beloved green boots. She then went back to Norway and wrote in her diary (yes, this 6 year old had a diary) that when she did this a door opened in her heart and she climbed a stairway to heaven. "It is such great thing to help another person." After that she vowed to perform barefoot to remind us that there are children in need. She has since raised millions for kids' charities. She then wrote a book about this, illustrated by her grandmother, and became the youngest published author in Norway. Just your average 6-year-old--genius. this passage was posted by another person, I thought would pass it along.

Hey Jen - I knew that you would really like this one! Angelina's first attempt at a Whitney was when she was just 18 months old - she is getting better and better as the years go by... I was at the last of her summer concerts in Norway this year, after singing 17 songs, she sang this - she teased us by saying that it was for someone very special in her life - her grandma. I think that her grandma has been at every one of her concerts until then, but could not manage the journey from LA due to her health problems, ,though Angelina assured us that she was getting better. It was a very emotional evening, this last song made it even more so. I hope that Angelina will have summer concerts in Norway next year, and that I and her grandma will be there.

Whitney was one of my most favorite singers of all time. She would always send chills down my arms and back. She had a voice of an angel! My favorite memory of WH is her moving rendition of the national anthem at the 1991 Super Bowl. She was fabulous. Miss Jordan, now 18, recently performed two shows in Las Vegas. Some attendees have posted wonderful videos in 4K - where she looks and sounds incredible. Thanks Jen - for all you do 😊

As a 76 year old combat veteran, I think Whitney was the first singer to bring me to tears. Later on Celine could also do it. Most recently: Angelina. That's a trio of pretty fantastic singers! The thing that always gets me about this David Foster written song is the following lines: Take my love I'll never ask for too much Just all that you are And everything that you do Think about it. 😀
