REACTING to Bee Gees - How Deep Is Your Love - Music Video & Live Performance! kzbin.info/www/bejne/mInUonWDl8hlpJo

I'm so glad the young generation are appreciating the Bee Gees. The boys were born on the Isle of Man, a small island between Great Britain and Ireland. Although not part of England, Great Britain or the UK, people from the Isle of Man, who are called Manx, are British citizens. They moved to Manchester, England, with their English parents. It's there where they started singing. They formed a group called the Rattlesnakes. In 1958, when Barry, the tall one, was nearly 12, and the other two, who were twins, were nearly 9, they moved to Australia. Robin was an arsonist in his young days in Manchester, and this was one of the reasons why they left England for Australia as Ten Pound Poms. They rebranded their band as the Bee Gees when in Brisbane, Australia, and were famous kid singers in that country -there are videos on KZbin of their young days in Australia . By the mid-1960s, London was the hip place to be, Swinging London and all that. The boys decided to return home in 1967 where they became internationally famous. They split briefly before joining up again, and, by 1975, they were based in the USA, where their disco music started. They had a young brother, also a singer. He died in 1988, aged 30, in England, where he was born. The twins have passed as well. Robin, the twin with the longer hair in this video, is buried in a beautiful village called Thame in Oxfordshire, England. Barry is still alive. He was knighted by King Charles, when Charles was the Prince of Wales. He is the only one who has dual nationality -British American. I put them up there with the Beatles. They wrote songs for other artists as well. Fantastic group imo.

Even their vibrato is in synch. That's the level of talent these guys had. Few groups can even approach the harmonies of the Bee Gees.

@CFWhitman15 күн бұрын
That's a result of them being siblings. Harmonies between siblings are hard to match for other singers. The Everly Brothers and the Andrews Sisters are two older groups that rely on sibling harmonies, and they do amazing things. Of course, the Bee Gees put their own spin on things. There's no one quite like them.
@natalieproffitt54803 ай бұрын
They didn't ALWAYS sing in falsetto, but when they did, WOW! They are also known as great songwriters. They wrote over a 1000 songs for themselves and other artist. They had hits in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, up until 2001.

Remember that after Maurice died in 2003 both Robin until he died in 2012(The last album released 2 year after his passing) and Barry had solo albums out. Barry's last one in 2021. So running for more than 60 years.

I’m 55 and growing up in the 70’s songs were sung to women. Today they are sung about women and the difference couldn’t be more obvious. I’m now showing my 12 yr old boys what real, pure talent looks like and they are loving it! No auto tune, just pure tight harmonies and incredibly talented brothers. 💫❤️💫🇦🇺

Barry, the lead singer used to sing in his natural voice, somewhere around the mid 70’s he figured out that he could sing in a falsetto style and he pretty much did from then on, his two brothers provided unparalleled harmonies, Robin great singer in his own right and Maurice also very talented.
@phillipridgway83173 ай бұрын
Maurice sang well too, but his talent was in playing several instruments very well and, most importantly, he was the musical arranger for their songs.
@KGardner010102 ай бұрын
From what I can now remember, Rafael. Barry's falsetto began when they began writing the songs for Saturday Night Fever - Robert Stigwood when they practised in the recording studio, then asked if one of them could sing in a higher voice for some of those songs. Barry gave it a go just to see, and so his falsetto voice was born. The twins then had a go, and so their falsetto's also began. As you would expect, they thought it would take some time to be a lot better at them - but not that long after it, they were all singing such close harmonies together that they sounded like one singer . . . and with that, and their album for the film, the Bee Gee's falsetto harmonising just became their trademark in so many songs afterwards . . .
@kthor2 ай бұрын
@@KGardner01010 Though in this song, it's just Barry singing in falsetto.

One of the (many) secrets to their success is that the brothers grew up together and pronounce their words the same. This contributes to their amazing blended vocals.

@StephGardofficial They are brothers (The Brothers Gibb). Barry (in the middle, is the oldest. And yes, I had a crush on him back in the day). The other two (Robin & Maurice) are fraternal twins. They had a younger brother (Andy Gibb) who had a great solo career. He was too young to join his older brothers at that time. The Bee Gees were big in the Black Community back in the day. Please react to more! Here’s a list with my interpretation of what genre I think they fall under: Too Much Heaven (R&B) Went to #1 How Deep Is Your Love (R&B Ballard), went to #1 Staying Alive (disco), went to #1 Night Fever (disco), went to #1 You Should Be Dancing (R&B or disco), went to #1 Fanny be tender with my love (R&B). Quincy Jones said this was his favorite R&B song. It’s a favorite of mine too. Jive Talking (R&B), went to #1 Nights on Broadway (R&B/Funk)..you’ll hear the brothers “natural” voices in this song. Tragedy (Techno? Pop) It also went #1 More than a woman (Disco/R&B) One of the best love songs ever made! Love you inside out (Funk/pop), went to #1 To love somebody (R&B) One of their earlier hits, from 1967!!! You’ll see how young they were. Massachusetts (pop/country), went to #1 Wind of Change (funk/r&b), live 1975 from the Midnight Special or live from their 1979 Spirits tour. They sing in their natural voices on this song. Alone (pop): One of the songs they made late in their career. Love So Right (R&B), One of Barry’s best falsetto songs ever. Words (pop, 1979 Spirits Tour). Barry pours his heart out on this song and they show his wife & son on screen some while he was performing it. Lonely Days (pop). One of the first songs they wrote after they got back together when they briefly broke up in 1969 then got back together in 1970 to write this. You Win Again (pop), If you want to hear some 80’s Bee Gees, this is a good one. Went #1 in the UK Run to Me (pop) How Can you mend a broken heart (R&B). The other song they wrote when they first got back together after a brief breakup. It was also their first #1 in the US Kiss of Life (rock). Shows a diverse side of them. One (pop), their last top 10 hit in the US Wedding Day (pop), a single they wrote for their wives! All of them had been married for a while. Barry is will married to this day to Linda for over 53 years! Rest Your Love on Me Awhile (country). Shows diversity! Bodyguard (R&B), Robb really shines on this song that could have been played on any R&B radio station! For Whom the Bell Tolls (pop), again, Robin shines on this one. Blue Island - live (pop). This song shows the perfect blend & harmony the brothers have. Especially if you do the acoustic one. Just the 3 of them with 2 guitars! Our Love, Don't Throw it all away-Bee Gee's or Andy's version (pop). After their brother Andy passed, they started performing this during shows in honor of him. Secret Love (pop). I love the best to this song! Barry & Robin leads. This is Where I Came in (live) (pop). From the very last CD they ever released. There is a live version out there from a tv show. That's a great one to see how they have evolved into the 2000's! The 1989 One for all tour medley (excellent vocals & some humor). This is a little long (over 12 min), but they go through about 7-9 songs in this medley with just the 3 of them around 1 mic either Barry in the guitar.

Steph Barry Gibb (one in the middle) has vocal range with falsetto with his brothers: Robin (one with long hair, no beard) and his fraternal twin, Maurice aka Mo. Both Barry & Robin usually sings together on songs with all three sings on harmonies. Brothers Gibb aka Bee Gees had another brother, their youngest brother named Andy Gibb, but sadly, Andy died very young at the age of 30 in 1988. Then twins died 11 years apart with Maurice in 2003 & Robin in 2012 leaving Barry as Last Bee Gee. Local news network in Australia did an in-depth interview with Barry about 6 months after Robin's death called Lone Bee Gee or Last Bee Gee. Interview is on here, KZbin.
