I was introduced to Bo when he was still making videos in his room. He’s hilarious and he has only gotten better since! (Hello!Netflix!) 😆 But, you gotta start from his early work. His earliest hit was “I’m Bo Yo”. Good stuff! One of my favorites is “From God’s perspective”. Offensive to some. But, it’s actually really good if you pay attention to the theme of the lyrics 😁

If you’re jumping down the Bo Burnham rabbit hole then I’ll be subscribing for that journey! It’s a hell of a ride. The dude’s one the most unique artists of our generation. A little background, he started out on KZbin making absurd/offensive songs on KZbin WAYYY back in 2006. He became the youngest person to ever get a record deal with Comedy Central, to ever get a half hour special, and a full length special. Dude made his first special “Words Words Words” before he was 20. He did 2 more specials-‘what.’ in 2013 and ‘Make Happy’ in 2015 and then took 5 years off from comedy. He made a movie during those years called “8th Grade” that is PHENOMENAL. In 2020 he made INSIDE and exploded back onto the internet zeitgeist. It won him 3 Emmy’s, a Grammy, and is the best “comedy” anything I’ve ever seen. You’ll find a lot of people recommending starting with his earliest stuff and moving your way forward. While this is the most linear path, just a warning…his early stuff was PEAK edgelord humor and a lot of it hasn’t aged that well. It’s still funny, but Bo’s made a lot of comments about how embarrassed he of his early stuff. All that being said, here’s a list of recommendations in no particular order: Welcome to the Internet Pandering Sad How the World Works From Gods Perspective Straight White Male #deep Words Words Words Art is dead 5 Years Rant. K*** Your**** (its under the title “problem solving” on KZbin) Comedy Repeat Stuff Oh Bo Left Brain, Right Brain All Eyes on Me Can’t Handle This (Kanye Rant) We Thing We Know You That Funny Feeling Hell of a Ride Problematic Breakup Song White Woman’s Instagram And a bunch more lol. Even if you don’t react to it, you gotta watch INSIDE in its entirety. It’s really something special. Keep ‘em coming! Cheers

You should watch his specials in chronological order. It puts them all into context that doing requests would rob you of. Especially for songs of his like Kanye Rant (Can’t Handle This) and All Eyes on Me, for example. They both hit like a ton of bricks, doubly so if you know what he went through.
@theConquerersMama Жыл бұрын
I agree and had just mentioned this. Granted you can watch those blind. They are complete works on their own. But watching Inside as a special or All Eyes on Me without the foundation of the other stuff is like starting eith Return of thr King as your first Lord of the Rings experience. Same with Kany Rant. It's phenomenal alone but with some context and foundation of seeing his other stuff first, you can appreciate the layers.

Please go down the bo Rabbit hole. Like a lot if people, I discovered him when he was a 15/16 year old kid doing the edgelord thing. Insanely clever but definitely pushing buttons. He addresses that as a full grown man in Problematic. That said his stuff always has that satirical kernel of thought provoking truth. His ability to consistently do insightful, cross genre satire while also having a genuine hope that things/people can be better is a large part of what makes him a great artist. His stuff is what I would can performance art. Or that's what it became. His lighting design, attention to details. Down to planning his breathing. It's masterful. Enjoy the ride. And the built in ravenous fan base. Always a plus. Do watch some of the older stuff before you get to Kanye's Rant then All Eyes on Me. You don't have to but it helps lay a foundation to appreciate the layers more. Loving seeing your channel do so well.
