Yes, like you said you’re not a vocal coach but you did describe his high register as female parts. That’s correct amount the classical and opera community. This was in 2018 , now 4 years later Dimash has a 7,7 octave range. At one concert he hit a D8 one note off of the piano at the top in the whistle register not even a note but a frequency.. at the bottom he hits a F#1 in the first octave. Dimash sings in every register that is much more than marcillito can do. In dimashs country after finishing his 2 masters (in his doctorate now) the Astana opera house tried to give him a seat also because of culture thought they owned Dimash, but he refused going into a mix of opera rock neoclassical and thereby doing any genre he wants to and in this song sos it is called popopera. There was some rock belting in there too.

He began his classical/operatic training at age 5 and continued that for 20 years. He is a huge Michael Jackson and Lara Fabian fan, and you will hear pop, contemporary, opera and other sounds come out of him. He is considered to be the greatest vocalist in the world which is based on his voice, his breath control and his 7+ octave range. He is tall at 6'3" and is trained in Taekwondo, is an avid swimmer for his breath control. He is working on a movie with Jackie Chan and is a male model. So much can be said about him just react to as many of his videos as possible.

He started Classical (Bel Canto) at 16, according to Marat Aytimov, his teacher, and according to Dimash himself. He started piano + vocal school (regular singing) at age 5. 16-20, 4 years of Classical (Bel Canto). 20-24, 4 years of Contemporary (Jazz, Pop). Then come all his other studies in music itself, a Master`s Degree in Composition, and enrollment in doctoral studies in Musicology. He didn`t train operatically for 20 years since he was 5, nobody trains a 5 years old child in Bel Canto. He started Classical at 16, and keeps training every day, even if he graduated at 20 and 24 with university degrees in both classical and contemporary.

SOS is the song that introduced Dimash to the world and opened many great opportunities and collaborations for him. This song comes from the famous 1978 Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania', which is well known in French-speaking countries, and is a pretty difficult song to sing. In 2017 Dimash received a wild card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant ever at 22 years old and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part in this competition. Although well-known and respected in his homeland Kazakhstan, nobody in China knew or heard about Dimash before, but with his first song, SOS, Dimash shocked the audience and captured the hearts of over 600 million of viewers overnight, and the rest is history as the saying goes.

Dimash has had perfect pitch since the age of three. He has studied music and vocals since he was five and still trains for 3-5 hours every day. You are in for a fantastic musical journey. I would not know what to suggest you listen to first. Opympico, Adagio, Ave Maria, Ikanaide, The Show Must Go On, Your Love, Lve Is Like A Dream, or Stranger. Be prepared to be Dimash-ified. He speaks Kazak, his native language, Russsian, and is still learning English & Mandarin, and sings in 13 languages. Dimash, as you put it, embeds himself into every song he sings. You will hear it once you react to more of his videos. There is no other voice like his anywhere, as you will learn from more comments from his "Dears" which is how he refers to his fans. No, no-one else can sing like this. Only Dimash, who is in a league of his own. Dimash sings in almost every octave, many languages, and across many genres. He also plays multiple instruments and composes. The Western music industry has been slow to wake up to this phenomenal artist. Firstly because there has been a long term avoidance of Artists who sing in other languages { note: Dimash also sings in English - but you will find you don't need the language to understand the universal messages of his songs - although most do have captions / or auto-translate }. But also because they simply have no way to understand what to do with an artist who soars above around between and across narrow rigid commercially channeled single genre 'lanes'. Besides, they're too busy, like the rest of us, scraping their chins up off the ground! 😆 Now you should go to his 2019 live performance { not fancam} of Olympico, to be shocked once more - this time by his lower range. The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. Welcome to the best singer in the world. You’re correct that he is a classically trained singer. He was offered a position with an opera company but decided he didn’t want to be pigeonholed. He sings in all styles of music including rap! He is also a composer and plays multiple instruments. He has sung songs in 14 languages but only speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently. He’s learning English and Mandarin. The next stop on the Dimash roller coaster should be Sinful Passion, Olympico, Stranger, Ave Maria, Icanaide though quite honestly anything you choose will be perfect! WhatEvs comment was right on. For you to truly enjoy the essence of this guy, I'd highly suggest that you start at the beginning, his introduction to the world outside of Kazakhstan zt the Chinese singing competition called 'I Am Singer' in 2017. Dimash was a write in, a wild card with absolutely NO chance of placing much less winning in this competition against established professionals ... until he opened his mouth. This was his first song he sang there out of twelve. It's classic because you get to see some of the weirdest looks on other contestants faces. They had NO idea until then that they might just as well go back home. Truly funny. His second song was 'Opera 2'. Dimash did a bit of showing off and playing with the crowd. At the time, he had no idea his father was in the crowd. In the competition, he sings Freddy Mercury's 'Show Must Go On', Adagio, etc. Listen to them all. You will get an appreciation of his high notes. Only after that, Listen to him sing a more recent song, 'Stranger' to get a feeling of his bass capabilities. to top it off, listen to him sing a song he wrote at age 19 where he hits a really high note, a D8. Off the piano scale. It's called 'Unforgettable Day'. Unforgettable indeed. Another BTW, this guy stands 6'3" tall. Little he isn't. I truly liked and enjoy your reaction to Dimash and I am subscribing to your channel. Now, just so you won't run out of material to listen to, let me suggest a young female singer with a very tragic past who has developed into a true contralto and is also polyphonic. What a unique voice. Her name?? Diana (Dee Aana) Ankudinova. Abandoned and abused by her mother, on the street at age 2/3 with a broken collarbone and unable to speak, she was adopted by a very loving family who were told that music might might be the key to helping her get over her trauma. The rest is history. I believe she is close to 20 now but I've listened to her sing at the age of 12/13 and was mesmerized. Her her sing 'Rechenka (River)', 'Wicked Game', 'Can't Help Falling In Love', etc. Enjoy..

Lol! Only THIS man can sing like that. You’re right when you say you’ve never heard any man sing like this. Sorry, but Marcelo presents a gimmick, whereas this is actually Dimash’s vocal range. The first time I heard Marcelo Pomoy in 2005 it thereabouts, my reaction was “Eh, this is so contrived and gimmicky. Nothing much to see here.” The first time I heard Dimash sing in 2017, I was on KZbin or five hours straight because I knew I was watching and hearing a phenomenon. We’re all still here 6 years later as he continues to expand his vocal range even further recently, going downwards, so that now he has a range of about eight octaves. Unheard of in a male singer. He can pretty much hit any note. You did not see his highest and in no way his lowest notes on this song. He also does any genre he wants from opera to pop to rapping in his native Kazakh. That being said he is fluent in his native Kazakh and Russian but now also speaks English very well. He however sings in I believe up to 15 languages now. Try Stranger from New Wave. It is in English and you will see a little more of his range but again... not all of it. MJ was a huge influence in Dimash's life so you will often see that influence in his music such as Be With Me MV, in English with Kazakh rap, or Zhalyn in Kasakh. Buckle up because he is going to shock you over and over and over.

Indeed, Dimash trained in all registers. He had a nice low range since young, and a high range as well, being often asked to step in for the soprano parts when there weren`t enough girls in the choir. He kept his high range through adolescence. Between 16 and 20 he studied Classical (Bel Canto), got a degree at 20, then 20 -> 24 studied Contemporary (Jazz, Pop), got a degree in that at 24. He also has a Master`s Degree in Composition, with a thesis defended with perfect score. He did the training in Classical style for his high range with soprano arias. He never pushed any one register, and he remained free in all registers, and has great control and skill in a wide range, from baritone (and some bass) up to soprano, with the ability to access whistle register as well. His mother is a soprano, and that probably contributed to his love for this register. In his performances, he mizes elements from opera, pop, rock, kazakh folk and even a bit of rap. He sings in 5 languages in his concerts, and fans attending (from 30+ countries in each concert) sing with him in all the languages he sings in, even if none are their own language. Which creates a bridge of friendship across countries and continents. He is also a humble, grateful guy, with a grounded, clean life and a sense of humor. He knows how to pose James Bond style for a photoshoot, or carry a taekwondo style fight scene in a music video, without taking himself too seriously. He loves his fans like family, works hard to create valuable art, and never misses a chance to show gratitude to everyone who works with him, and anyone who had anything to do with his upbringing or his musical formation. We, his fans, love him right back, as we find comfort in the quality of his art and his delivery of it. Welcome. In Dimash you HAVE found the greatest vocalist on the Planet. I'd recommend him doing "Sinful Passion". You'll hear even more vocal techniques which will amaze you. If you watch Dimash, make sure to watch to VERY END of songs as there are often pauses, before taking off again. For me, the greatest all round Performer is Chinese singer (Rock/Metal, Rap, Reggae, Pop, SynthPop, Electronic, Ballads, "Performance", Traditional Chinese etc). He doesn't like dancing so we don't think hell do Disco (oh wait... He HAS 😂). He's a Composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist. Not in my Top 50 Hua Chenyu Performances, but "Nunchucks" is a good intro. He leans more towards Prince than Michael Jackson. More Rock than disco. 👍 You get English subtitles with most of his Performances. Lots of Dimash fans (Dears) like Hua Chenyu, and are his fans (Martians) too.
