To answer your question as to whether or not anyone has done a full cover of Misty Mountains, a group called Clamavi De Profundis did one a few years ago. As far as I know, they were the first to do all 27 (yes, I counted) verses. As such, the video is 20 minutes long, so just be mindful of that if you’re planning on watching/ reacting to it.

If you are a Tolkein fan, I would very like to recommend you check out a channel called "The Hillywood Show" and watching their LOTR and Hobbit parodies. You could even react to them because they're musical parodies. And take a gander over their other parodies, almost all are musical, and most of the videos are truly epic, considering they're all fan-funded. I really can't put into words how amazing they are. It's run by two lovely sisters, Hannah and Hilly. Let me know what you think!

In reality, this isn't even low or high for Geoff. This is basically in his everyday comfort-zone. He has tracks where he goes considerably higher and lower. If you liked this, I am sure you would love his cover of "I See Fire".

Geoff has probably the most soothing bass voice I've ever heard. There are other good bass singers but Geoff has a tone that's just so smooth.When you see other covers he's done you'll see more of his range, and his humour. IN case you''re not aware, Geoff does it all, the arrangement, the singing, eiditing, film editing, and setting. He does get help with filming and lighting, costumes etc, from other VoicePlay members for example. So many I could recommend but I'll throw Shenandoah into the ring. :)

No worries about a lack of commentary! Any person's first-time experience with Geoff's voice is always just as enjoyable to watch as anything they may have to say on the matter. Because believe me, your expressions said it all! And that's generally the way it is with Geoff- it's a little hard to accept that any one person can vocalize the way that he does. His depths are abyssal,, and the heights to which he can ascend don't seem reasonable once you've experienced his lows. But Geoff can sing most of the piano keyboard, and sound *good* doing it- his vocal tone remains round and full and lovely throughout his entire range. He's an incredibly gifted and hard-working vocalist, and his talents do not stop there. As at least one other commenter has mentioned, he's also responsible for creating the arrangement, and filming and editing the video. He- like the a cappella group he's in, VoicePlay (another rabbit hole you should definitely slide down)- are 100% independent, so everything you see and hear from him is from his own creative vision. It's honestly one of the things I admire the most about Geoff and VoicePlay, because I know how much work goes into every production, and it's truly humbling.

I've never seen anyone who didn't make a face like that when hearing Geoff's voice...so be sure to listen to more of him and also Voiceplay, it's worth it for all!!! 🤩❤️🔥❤️🔥👍👍👍

If you thought THIS was "bassy", you're in for a treat with "I see fire". But don't expect "just" bass. That will truly showcase his range. 🙂 Same Dwarves, different set, different kind of arrangement, same beauty. As a huge Tolkien's fan myself (though for the books... Not that big fan of the movies, although I can understand how they can impact who hasn't read the books 😉), I confess that "I see fire" is so fitting the situation it describes that I can't help crying EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. 🙂 Just subscribed in anticipation of your reaction to it 🙂. See you there!

It is duo much fun watching someone hear Geoff for the first time. He only started doing solo work when Covid shut the world down and Voiceplay stopped touring. He is amazing! If you have time before Christmas (or even after) his arrangement of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen is wonderful!! Subscribed in anticipation of more Geoff and Voiceplay.

Dude. His cover to i see fire which is a sequel to this song. AMAZING!!!! The rains of castamere from game of Thrones was INCREDIBLE. Also, he is part of a group called voiceplay which you really should check out. Check out hoist the colors, the dragonborn comes, My mother told me, and Valhalla calling to start. You will not be disappointed. 😁😁😁

You know, I don't think Geoff fans have an official name, like "Home Fries" (for Home Free, another stellar A Cappella group) or Voiceplayas. But I think we should call ourselves "The Gigglers" because I'm willing to bet money we all laugh like crazy, watching somebody discovering Geoff's talent!
@carolfranklin11 ай бұрын
Welcome to a glorious rabbit hole! I recommend anything by Geoff because he is incredible. On The Hobbit theme he's also done I See Fire. He also sings bass (mostly) for an a cappella group called Voiceplay. Genuinely every song Geoff or Voiceplay do becomes my new favourite.
@christineschutten24811 ай бұрын
Now you absolutely must do I See Fire from him!!!! Geoff can go higher and lower than he sang in Misty Mountain's video. I understand not having much to say at first. It's like breaking the spell when you start speaking. This song from Geoff is perhaps the most soothing song I've ever heard!😊
@Shadow_Person1111 ай бұрын
No worries on the lack of commentary! Geoff's voice does tend to have that effect, and it usually means we get some intense facial expressions! After I See Fire you should really look into the acapella group he's in - Voiceplay - and scroll through their collection and watch the first one that really stands out. I'll go ahead and throw up a recommendation for their cover of The Grinch, since it's that time of year.

Yo, I never thought I'd see you react to Geoff Castellucci! He's absolutely one of my favorite singers out there with so many amazing covers to check out! He's got an incredible range and such an amazingly deep and rich bass sound as you heard. His costuming and video composition is always super on point too! He's the bass signer in the amazing singing group, Voiceplay, which is also very worth checking out in their own right as well! I think my all time favorite cover of his might be High and Dry by Radiohead, but he's got so many fun ones to check out. Blackbird, Sixteen Tons, Country Roads, and so many others. If you want another fun fantasy inspired cover his rendition of The Rains of Castamere might also be another one to react to. As a bonus, I'll throw in a recommendation for my other favorite cover of this same song by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust. It's a slightly different, but equally awesome, take on this great song. Also, hi! It's been a minute since I've dropped by, but it was really cool seeing you react to Geoff. It wasn't a collab I was expecting, but it was great seeing you discover him!

Geoff Castellucci is an amazing Bass singer. Being a deaf person myself, I never really got into music until more recently thanks to him! If you're interested in learning more about Geoff's work, I highly recommend checking out the other channel, VoicePlay. It's acapella and they make some AMAZING covers! Now, if you want to explore his range, you should consider listening to some of these songs by Geoff / Voiceplay: - Blackbird - Oogie Boogie song - Jack's Lament ...and so much more! Seriously, you'd be going down a rabbit hole that is Geoff Castellucci / VoicePlay

Dude, you have stumbled onto greatness, welcome to the rabbithole! Geoff and the group he performs with (VoicePlay) are so uber talented, and between the two channels, you will never run out of content! There are so many things you could nerd out for, Geoff and VP both cover so many genres of music, lots of movie/game/show themes (Dragonborn Comes from Skyrim, Enemy from Arcane, etc) along with classics like Aerosmith's Dream On, and Geoff does a beautiful cover of Ain't No Sunshine from Bill Withers. I could just go on and on about it all, just do more! You won't regret it

Nice job! Your obviously deep appreciation for Mr. Castellucci made me subscribe, and I usually only subscribe after I've seen a few of a reactor's videos! Now you can do "I See Fire" from The Hobbit! And let me add my own five cents (what with inflation and all), you really SHOULD check out the group Geoff is a part of, Voiceplay. They have a few different line-ups, member-wise, but they're all excellent. Their most recent line-up did a fun version of "Jingle Bell Rock" ala "Mean Girls." And Geoff did a cover of "Blue Christmas." Both are epic and hilarious! OHHH! And let me tell you the top three rules of Geoff and Voiceplay videos. (As I see them, they're not official or anything.) #1) Always watch until the video runs out! Just because there's a symbol or a black screen, doesn't mean the video is over! They often have little treasures at the end #2) Always watch with the CC on! There just may be a little gem hiding in their, including their descriptions of the videos. #3) Don't look away from the screen, or if you do look away, or pause the video, rewind it a few seconds and rewatch. They have a ton of funny-but-quick moments! Welcome to the Geoff rabbit hole! You're going to have a blast!

"What an angel" Geoff is more commonly associated with dragons (and the theory he may be a dragon in disguise) but I'd buy angelic origins too. He is super sweet and humble and top of all his amazing talents. Truly he is a soul worth protecting (and really all of VoicePlay).

"This is so low, man" pepeLaugh oh no no no he lacks critical information Geoff's voice is, as I think George Martin put it, "like honey poured over thunder". He is amazing, his solo covers are great, and he's actually in an acapella band called "VoicePlay", I really suggest watching every cover where you know the original. If you want more smooth bass vocals, IDK if you watched Home Free, they're also amazing, their bass, Tim Foust, is actually friends with Geoff and taught him a few tricks on growl notes. Unlike Tim, Geoff rarely uses those, he's more into subharmonics, which basically allows him to sing almost an octave lower than his chest voice. If you want more cool voices, you can watch an Egyptian kid by the name of Marwan Ayman, an opera bass by the name of Peter Barber, a singer by the name or Robert Waters (more known as Bobby Bass, no idea why), and a Czech guy by the name of Tomi P., they recently formed a band together called the Bass Gang, and their arrangements and production value just keep getting better and better. Hope to see a whole bunch of reactions to all of the above, they're amazing.

In the movies they don't play the whole song. Let's face it. If you tried to recreate every song in a Tolkein book, You would probably die before you got to the halfway point. Hell, I'm amazed they managed to shorten the movies as much as they did. Add the songs, and Tom Bombadil, and the movies would have been longer than even the biggest fan could sit through.
