He was a real .nice down to Earth persong who loved people and nature wan was an environmentalist long before it was considered the in thing. I saw him twice .ive The first time was in the old Omni in Atlanta. the second time was at the Atlanta's Fox Theatre. He came out on stage with two guitars and a piano and sang two and half hours with a short break. No band No backup It was magical!

Cant fake tears and emotion like that. Makes me so happy when young folk find musicians and music that meant so much the older generations. Im 47, my dad had a greatest hits album of John Denver when i was a kid. My dad always said I was born "just a little too late" I always loved folk music and singer storytellers, which John definitely was. Anyway, thank you for allowing us to experience that with you.

The tragic plane crash that suddenly cut John Denver's life short still saddens me like it was yesterday. I followed John's life over 2 decades and saw his 'magical' live performances several times. He was an international entertainment icon, skilled songwriter and wildlife ambassador. He had that rare 1 in 10 million charisma and was loved everywhere he went. Please keep your tributes to him coming ❤

Same here. His songs all provoked one or several emotions. Now, after 25 years, sadness is the emotion that comes first, but John's music is strong enough to pull me out of that funk and the beauty and the magic of his music fills my heart as it always has since I first heard him back in the 1970s. Thank goodness, the music of John Denver will always keep his memory alive! 💙

Hopefully no one will ever forget what the real John Denver looks like. Such a beautiful song. I met him for a brief moment and spoke to him outside Harvard College as he got in his limo after speaking for the World Health Organization. The next night I saw young and old appreciating him in concert in Providence, RI.💖

He was one of the greatest singer/songwriters ever! He had such a beautiful soul, and his music shows it. Almost everything song, he wrote became a hit. He was one of the first celebrities to make Going Green and taking care of the environment and our Natural Habitat cool. This performance was done at "The Wildlife Concert in 1995." He had one of the greatest voices ever! May he rest in peace. You are right! This is a Wedding March song used throughout the world. Also, his other song has become a Wedding March song... "Annies Song."

I have the studio version of this song, but I love this version best. It is so soulful and from the heart, it gets me every time I listen to it. He wrote it for his Aussie girlfriend at the time and sadly, she did nothing but screw him over. Also, I believe it's the first time I ever heard him play the piano in a performance : )

Can’t tell you how good it makes me feel to see another young person discover the humble greatness that was John Denver. He was once described as “a songs best friend”. You just don’t find singer/songwriters like him anymore. Check out Poems, Prayers and Promises from the same concert. Very few could ever connect with each person in an audience like that. By the way, you have a beautiful voice.

I can't believe that I never knew John could play piano. I love his music and have seen a lot of his videos but have no memory of ever hearing this particular song before. This is beyond beautiful. I was fortunate enough to see him in concert in Tokyo in the 1970s; the only instrument he played there--unless my memory fails me--was his guitar.

I have more albums from him than from any other artist. He was a pilot like me, and he lost his life in a tragic accident in his new home-build Long-EZ airplane. But his music remains forever. Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

I was staying at the Pebble Beach Resort near Monterey California on that fateful week of his passing. I actually rented a bike and road along the coast road all the way into Monterey the very day his Plane went down in the Ocean just off the coast. It wasn't until later that evening I heard about it on the Local news. A real tragedy, for he was truly an interesting person with lots of musical talent, and an adventuresome nature. He has many meaningful songs that touch ones heart. Annies Song, and so many more. It would be well worth listening to a greatest hits list. Jet Plane, is a good one.

John wrote that song for his 2nd wife, Cassandra. John is my most favorite singer of all time and I listened to the Wildlife Concert every day of my 3 years of high school! Got me through life and John is the gospel of my life! I highly recommend "Poems, Prayers, and Promises" from The Wildlife Concert! Also, John could sing any style he wanted too! Had a synch pop-type period in the 80s "Don't Close Your Eyes" is a good one for that. "Anthem-Revelation" if you want a hard rock-type song! Another great little love song is "Follow Me" which is tied for my favorite with "Poems, Prayers, and Promises!"
