So I noticed that no one has enlightened you guys with the history behind SA Car spinning, Allow me: Back in the days...I'm talking your late 80's to your 90's.... due to poverty and lack of jobs in our communities ,and apartheid at the time , our teenagers would go out to the white people's areas ( suburban areas ) and Hijack cars and do other crimes as well whatever , but they would sell the others, or bring one to the township strip it , burn it and spin around it, just for show or celebrating the hit.. but they would keep a BMW 325i ( the one on the video ) and other cars but mostly this one... they liked it because ,it did not only have swag but these engines can take the abuse and the damage... They are pretty fast too when its time to run away from the cops ... nowadays , its a hobby where you will find any guy saving for a side project car and they get a car shell with a engine , and they have a drift car... RedBull is one of the big sponsors that have joined the movement and they are now making it a legit sport ( seeing that most guys do it illegally in our township road , causing all sorts of havoc. now Redbull has brought in competitions and drifting Arena's to do this safely and they can get licenses to Air it on commercial SA channels.
