For me, It is because I enjoyed parts of the song (and respect the skill of the artist in large part) because you always increase my appreciation of the music no matter how much I like or dislike the music. Uuh, glad you took your time with this band! I discovered these guys a few months ago and I was blown away and a bit sad that I hadn’t heard of them before, such a great band! 🔥🤘🏻 On another note, I feel that you need to check out more Meshuggah. Bleed is a great song (the one you reacted to) but it kinda has the same shock factor as Jinjer’s Pisces. To me Bleed doesn’t really show what the band is all about. Future Breed Machine, New Millennium Cyanide Christ, Rational Gaze, Stengah, Doo Not Look Down are imo songs that really define what they are. I would love to see you dissect more of their songs because...Meshuggah! 😉🤘🏻

OC's Nija is in the running for my AOTY, along with UtA's Abyss. So good job checking them out and nice analysis :) I'd stick with the recommendations here to do Rebirth/The Shadowing next. Save the treats that are North Star of Nija, Behold and Mirrorslave after that. And if you want another rabbit hole to dive down try Sylvaine, starting with Abeyance or L'appel du Vide.

First time I heard them I was just floored and couldn't believe I never heard this band. And by 'digital run' I guess you mean the Gojira-esque pick scraping? As for suggestions, there are too many, but for something different maybe Shadowing (there is a 'live in the studio' version of it). Or maybe Redfog or Saw.

I discovered this band earlier this year and my first reaction was confusion. I couldn't, and still can't, put my finger on who the vocalist reminds me of. it's like a mix of James Hetfield, Matt Heafy, and some nu-metal singer. Anybody have an idea? help me out! :)

Well, I felt huge Darkane vibes while listening to this.

@@RedOchsenbein must admit i had to look up Darkane but yea i see what you mean. i think goes to show that Metallica and also later, the Swedish extreme metal scene had a huge influence on so many bands

The cleans sound like Burton C Bell from Fear Factory.

Not vocal related, but the first 3 seconds in of this song reminds me of the first 3 seconds in of Gojira's The Art of Dying.
