Probably the greatest female voice of all time. Even now, she is still a legend that female singers (country anyway) aspire to. When you are a hero to the likes of Reba, Dolly, Loretta, Emmylou… that’s beyond legend status, that’s true badass!

Simply put, Patsy Cline was an original. Covers of her songs rarely work. Good to note, though, that the studios pushed a lot of these "wronged-woman" songs on her, more than Patsy actually wanted to do. Of course, as the consumate professional, she still slayed them.

The backing vocals by the Jordanaires appeared on all of Patsy Cline's Decca sessions from her first in November 1960 to her last in February 1963, during which time they backed her on songs such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Walkin' After Midnight, Leavin' on Your Mind. They are widely known for providing background vocals for Elvis Presley in live appearances, recordings, and feature films from 1956 to 1970.

That sigh you gave at the end of her song is similar to the sigh I still make after I listen to her, and I've be listening to her since the late 80's. That sigh well never go away. A few years ago I was playing one of her albums on my front room and my son was in the other rooms just lounging on a sofa. He grew up listening to Paramore and now listens to groups similar to Lady Gaga. Patsy is definitely on the "that's dad's music" camp so I wasn't even aware he was listening. When the album was over there was a slight pause and I heard my son say "she really gets you in the feels". The power of Patsy.
