One of those songs that has connected hundreds of thousands of out-of-place people, lonely together is better than lonely alone. Great choice and great reaction.

Thom was in college, he liked this girl but was afraid to approarch her. Finally one night he got drunk enough to work up the courage to talk to her. She didn't respond. Later Creep put on a concert. He heard she was in the audience, he had a panic attack. I bet today she's sorry how she treated him back then though.

People say there were a number of songs like this in the ‘90s- low self-esteem, looking down on yourself. It was kind of the decade for that in rock. I think this was Radiohead’s debut single, and probably still their most well-known song. But believe me, they have a *ton* of other interesting material. Later albums saw them get more and more experimental. But I think this song’s verses and chorus might be so much easier to sing than the bridge, where he belts his wounded heart out.

Of all the reaction videos on KZbin to this song, you are the only one I've seen that got the true meaning. And you did it without looking at the lyrics. Good job !!! 👍👍👍

I wanna kiss ur face and give u a hug right now. Sooo many reactors just dont get this song and you were so spot on correct. Unrequited love. Did he have the courage to talk to her? Or just dream that he did. It can go many routes. Did they eventually have a relationship, yet he ended it because deep inside he didn't feel he was good enough. So to protect his own heart he ended it before she found out he wasn't what she thought he was. Or maybe he UNFAIRLY put her on such a high pedestal no one could live up to it, so naturally, she let him down. Many angles to look at this one from. Very deep and relatable song. If you truly want to hear Thom kill this song simply search...Best Live Performance Radiohead Creep and you will get exactly that. Very emotional performance in front of a mega crowd. Hugs. Mark

So many making comparisons between this and The Hollies version of 'The Air that I Breathe' - a similar sentiment too - but I don't recall that tune having Jonny Greenwood going apeshit on a telecaster. Their first major hit in the UK and not necessarily representative of their future output, but certainly of their intensity. 30 years can go by so fast!

Part of it is being honest about his own life, but he's also trying to speak for lots of people. The first time I heard this song was on a jukebox, around when it came out. I borrowed ten bucks so I could play it over and over again.

Sister, Thank you for the nice reaction. I think you would like Thoms' favorite song; How to Disappear Completely. It's my favorite too and maybe yours too! Just don't watch a live version as they used a very rare instrument in the studio which you couldn't hear live. Bye!

Yeah, another non-appropriate recommendation... 😁 Back in the 1970s there was a revival in England of certain styles of folk music, fused with rock and roll. The original group of that revival was probably Fairport Convention, but a major influence and driving force was Steeleye Span. Steeleye Span was composed of a couple of breakaway members of Fairport Convention, along with some other singers from the British folk scene. Span was more electrified than most of the others doing their style of music, and had some big hits. Here are some of them. Gaudete kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3XGY3l6Ytusbq8 (this is a traditional Christmas song, in Latin) All Around My Hat kzbin.info/www/bejne/aavdqJWPrtuKn7c One Misty Moisty Morning kzbin.info/www/bejne/kHy9naZ4l9l2iNk Cam Ye O'er Frae France kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHmxgJiKjtZofKc Maybe next time I post a totally off-topic musical recommendation I'll do Pentangle, another of the British folk-rock groups I couldn't get enough of back in the day. :)

The song is fairly obviously about a crush he had on a girl that was never even approached. She never noticed him. Creep is British slang for "weird" or "different". The whole "perfect body" is because Thom Yorke (the lead singer) has a lazy eye as well as how he views her. The rest of it is pretty self-evident.

It's 100x worse than melancholic. This is su!cidal depressive hurt beyond any hope of recovery pain. No mere melancholy. The feeling that you are utterly worthless. Think about that in how you deal with people.

When the Police did Every Breath You Take , everyone loved it and thought what a beautiful love song. No one realized he wrote the song about a real live serial Killer. Same as this Creep song. He was skinning her alive so he could keep her forever. That is why she ran and got away. He was in the nuthouse saying he doesn't belong here. He wanted to have control and didn't care if it hurt.
