@@petergreen2552 yeah. I have heard that song. Maybe the chord progressions are similar but its at a different tempo. I don't know about that but I guess Jonny Greenwood did admit to subconsciencly using it. Radiohead's record company sued a band for emulating "Creep". If Radiohead used it then how do they sue someone else for using it?

This is based on a true experience. While at university, Thom Yorke, lead singer was attracted to a beautiful girl there. He could only look on from a distance, as he didn't think himself worthy of approaching her. When he hits the high notes, you really see the pain etched on his face, and you so correctly guessed, the song is about self loathing and worthlessness. I love how you 'feel' and almost become a part of the songs/videos you watch 👍👏👏👏

Lots from the music from the late 90s to 00s era is gold. I consider Ok Computer, Kid A and Amnesiac a dystopian existential trilogy of albums that interconnect and play to the theme of modernism and isolationism in modern society and the changing pace of pre 21st century culture and thinking to 21st. I can't listen to Kid A without Amnesiac and Ok with the latter. Love Radiohead ❤️

I know the song is based on the lead singer's experience with a crush he had in university but the song just describes the way I feel about every person I have ever tried to contact or befriend in my life so accurately, I was born with autism on the very high end of the spectrum which really takes a toll on my social skills and my outlook on things, making people alienated by me...to the point that nowadays I'm intimidated by trying to aquire friends because all I can see myself as is a freak that only makes people run from him and is not good enough to deserve friends and loved ones... While I am well aware of how stupid and tactless it is to vent this on a song reaction video, I just had to share my personal meaning of the song

Having watched the show, "Love on the Spectrum," I feel for your pain, my friend. Do not give up hope. You do not need to be a "social person" to be happy in this life. All you need is a good friend or two. Like she says, if you're not being appreciated by the people around you, find somewhere else to spend your time where people appreciate you. Go to places where people who share similar interests/hobbies/passions to you are, and with enough time, your desires will be fulfilled.

Great reaction, and you're right it was a very personal song to Thom, who wrote the song about not being good enough for a girl he really liked when he was in school, being so inadequate, someone who didn't even know he existed at the time, which I think is relatable to do many of us. Well I'd love to know where that girl is now and what she thinks about this, if she knows who she is!!! For a long time Thom and the band got so tired of being labelled as the band that did Creep that they refused to play it at their live events as they didn't want the song to define them, although I think in recent years (when events were possible) they have started playing it again which I think is a good thing as it's an amazing song and so anthemic!!! If doesn't define them, they have so many great songs and albums, but this has to be included in them.

I love how you really get this song. :-) The story behind this song was that it's about a girl he saw at Uni whom he thought was absolutely stunning and wonderful, but he was too scared to talk to her, so he just followed her around for a while. One day, he got drunk and told her how he felt but accidentally scared her away by doing so. I love how much raw emotion he injects into his music, even if the style isn't to everyone's taste. That's why Thom Yorke shines - He's different and proud.

Gorgeous voice. The dynamics were perfectly done, The soft falsetto / head tone in the high notes conveyed his sadness but then his full voice came out - it was a triple forte’ loud with a straight tone expressing his real grief and he wants to basically give up. When this song first came out, people thought it was EMOTIONAL DYNAMITE. and they were right. I felt his his pain, like being alone or losing someone I truly loved. I’m not a lyrical person. I’m trying. But it’s tough to hear it and that’s within every genre. The amount of instruments were perfect, giving the vocalist room to shine. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the song and lyrics. You’ve got a great ear for music. To put positivity in such a self-deprecating song was unexpected and I really liked that.
