Having grown up in the 70's with parents who had their first kids in the 50's, I can relate to his take on ADD in kids It's about sensing DANGER 😂 My dad used to say "You don't have to put the fear of God into your kids...but you have to put the fear of YOU into them" 😂🤣😂 Growing up playing outdoors, in the city, we could be fully into a game of stick ball in the street, and still have the awareness to clear at the 1st sound of a car 🚗 coming our way We remembered not to act a fool indoors or visiting at a friend's house because one LOOK from our parents would send a cold chill down your spine Kids today lack that awareness because so many young parents today have forgotten or never experienced discipline, and as we see them grow up it bleeds into our society and we see stupidity in the streets daily 😢

Spot on! We played outside in the 60's and 70's till the sun went down. Mom gave us that look and that's all it took. Dad would would just sit back with that grin like 👍 they got the message. Bath and bedtime! Boys are just built differently. Hey but we also had girls in our neighborhood who played right along with us, baseball and football, girly girls too. Neighborhoods were like family back then.

I was born in 1986.. my first car was a pos 1990 dodge caravan with the woody fake panels, smelled like paint cause it was my uncles work van forever, had breaks that were basically dead and cost me 150 bucks.. I drove it for a year and then had it crushed into a cube and got 50 bucks for the scrap metal lol

React to everything from him. He is a legend and he doesn't swear! A little over 10 years ago, me and my ex went to Chicago for the weekend, and we ended up walking downtown one night. We saw Sinbad was doing a standup show at the Chicago Theater. We went in to see if they had any tickets. And, all they had left were 2 front row tickets, right in the middle of the stage. He stood less that 5 foot from me. And, he talked with everyone in the front row like comedians do. But he didn't say a thing to me and it broke my heart. I have been watching his standup since I was a kid in the 80s. He is one of my favorite comedians. The comedians I started with as a kid 1. Bill Cosby - "The Dentist" - Bill Cosby, "Himself" 2. Emo Philips - "Driving" 3. Sinbad - Full Stand Up Special on Netflix - "Son of a Preacher Man" 4. Bob Nelson - "Morning on the Farm" Duck Routine "Football and/or Boxing" routine 5. Howie Mandel - Full Stand Up Special "North American Tour "Watusi" 6. George Carlin - "Hippy Dippy Weatherman"

I miss Sinbad. We apparently grew up in a similar situation, in many ways. His stories about life as it was are hilarious because they are true. I'm laughing about something that should have traumatized me, like getting sent to get the switch for my own whoopin'. His stories, his delivery, and his genuine nature made him one of the best. Thanks for the reaction. Please do more.

Children today don't learn about consequences. We learned that talking back to your parents was a risk. Asking for a brand new car risked the scorn and ridicule of your parents. Now, the first time they run in to reality is after graduating college and they find out nobody is handing out cash for doing nothing.

I have a 3.5 year old grandson and from the moment he wakes up until he goes to sleep he's moving, constantly playing with his toys. And talking! Nonstop! And his favorite word? "Why?"

When raising kids, you have to establish a healthy fear and respect as a parent, especially as Dad. My kids rarely acted out and I almost never had to whip them. On the extremely rare occasion when they did, I would squat down, look them dead in the eye and tell them with my teeth clinched so they could see, "if you don't knock that crap off, I'm gonna tear you up right here in front of everybody". They straightened right up because they knew I wasn't playing. You also have to back up what you say or the threats mean nothing. My kids never caused trouble in public or at school because they knew better. They grew up to be great kids and couldn't even stand it when other kids acted out.

Back in school I was the biggest kid in the county, my job in basket ball and I quote from my coach, "your job is not to dribbletheball, your job is to swing elbows and put up rebounds, I rarely played the 2nd half cause I understood my job, and fouled out often, my record is 3 bloody noses, a dislocated arm, and an ambulance being called, I was good at my job, that's why everyone became great shots, try and drive the land against me

My first car was twelve years old. But, it was a 1961 Lincoln Continental in very nice condition. A big sedan. Not any teenagers dream car! But in a couple years I exchanged it for a Firebird convertible. Much better.

In the mid 90's our 1st grade age son was "diagnosed" with ADD. The boy would finish his classwork quickly and then talk to others or get up. To punish him the teacher would not let him go outside at recess. We tried to tell the teacher that was making things worse, he needs to go out and run to work that energy off. Long story short, the next school year he did well with a different teacher and eventually graduated with a 75% college scholarship.

Sin bad is awesome. I am with you on the participation awards for kids 6 and up. Before that, I think it is ok to get them interested in trying whatever activity is. They can learn the harshness of losing after 6. As far as ADD, my mom needed a 3 foot reboot stick for me. I had the attention of a beagle in a Frisbee manufacturing plant.

Sinbad doesn’t get the credit that he deserves. Too many “so called” comedians write him off for his clean approach and label him as an inferior comic when the truth is he’s doing things other comedians wish they could do. The man is a comic icon point blank period!

My first car was My Mother's and My Father had a New Truck and when they were using one I was using the other they gave Me 2 dollars for gas and when the 2 dollars was gone I was done but gas was like 19-25 cents a gallon during the gas wars. They got rid of the gold standard and prices started to soar. I can remember when I was a kid the Government sold savings bonds to the people. During WW2 they sold War bonds.

I've been saying FOR YEARS that "ADD" is how the "teaching community" has labeled NORMAL KIDS! . . . . . If kids are not energetic and curious, there's something wrong. The problem IS NOT THE KIDS . . . . . IT'S THE TEACHERS!
