52 year old man. Cried at their concert when Atlantic started. First time I ever cried at a concert.

"I'm a winged insect, you're a funeral pyre." = I'm attracted to you like a moth to a flame. "No amount of love will keep it around if we don't choose it." - Cut and dry, on the surface, and facts! It's not enough to love someone, you have to choose that person and keep choosing them if you want to keep them around. Notice in the first chorus that he says "I WILL travel far beyond the path of reason" and then during the screaming at the end he says "I HAVE traveled..." Basically, I'm done asking nicely. The gloves are off, and I'm p*ssed off. Take me back to Eden!!!"

Yessss! Please start from the beginning! You will have a lot of us with alyou along for the journey! It all ties together and tells a story.. The very beginning starts with the EPs -One -Two Then there are some singles and covers… -The Way That You Were -Jaws -Hey Ya Then the Albums… Album 1- Sundowning (you want to do the deluxe version because it has some piano versions and some covers at the end, including “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and “When the Party’s Over”) Album 2- This Place Will Become Your Tomb Album 3 - Take Me Back to Eden There was also a beautiful cover from 2022 called, “Is it Really You” originally by the band Loathe

I seen them live this past May and they performed this song live....it literally gave me goosebumps...it was truly a beautiful experience ❤

This is definitely part of a much larger story that takes place across the 3 main albums: Sundowning This Place Will Become Your Tomb Take me back to Eden These albums are structured as a trilogy with an incredible ending (Euclid) which should definitely be listened to last. There are also two EP's simply called 'One' and 'Two' that are also part of this story if you want to go right back to the very beginning with 'thread the needle' This is the start of the lore. Gotta love a band with lore, am i right?

He’s now a spirit that has been pulled into the world of the Sleep Goddess. “No one told me not to breath and now the weightlessness recedes”

He was remembering in the beginning how Eden was and wanted to go back then lived through this tumultous life and finally screamed out I have traveled far beyond the path of reason to get back to Eden, and he is so bitter and jaded but wants to get back so bad. Just me thinking in a short explanation, but everyone has their interpretation, which I love seeing.

I can't wait for you to do more of these! I absolutely love your reactions and thoughts on these songs. Sleep Token is special and hits in a way that nothing else has for me. I'm in my 50s and I think they're one of the best bands I've ever heard. In fact, the album Take Me Back to Eden is one of the best albums I've ever heard, and the last song, Euclid, just might be my favorite song of all time now, and that's saying something. But don't listen to that one yet. Wait until you've heard the other songs first. The payoff is incredible.

Great heartfelt reaction. Love that you build worlds in your head while listening to music. It's the best when its a journey you get lost in.

I'm loving your reaction to this!! It makes me so happy seeing someone experience sleep token for the first time and just love getting taken along for the ride. BTW we don't think you're crazy!! They absolutely create a world to get lost in! Subscribing to go along the journey with you. Worship ❤

To add context, a lot of This Place Will Become Your Tomb and Take Me Back to Eden are a tragic love story. “Eden” is that blissful innocence when it all began, the “I’m a winged insect, you’re a funeral pyre” is the unstoppable attraction that will still hurt like moths to a flame. TMBTE basically tells a story of a toxic relationship that Vessel is willing to “travel far beyond the path of reason” to try to get back to where it began, and the end is the anger and frustration of wanting it all back the way things were, and him having tried everything “beyond the path of reason.”

Ascensionism does a lot of the same of him realizing the person is toxic and manipulative, and him choosing her anyways, and by the end you see it beginning to taint him as he takes the same attributes as the other person

If they speak to you definitely go back to the beginning. I’m subbing for it. Watch out for the lyric videos though. Most of the time they have the lyrics messed up. Best to pull up the lyrics separately. Enjoy the journey. Worship

I agree with what people have been recommending. After this song, start with the first song on the album Sundowning and go from there, then save Euclid--the last song on Take Me Back To Eden--for last. It's worth it and it's going to blow your mind.

For sure start from the beginning my man. ALL of there songs are 🔥🔥. Some might be better than others but in my personal opinion there is not a single bad song in there catalog. 1st "Sundowning", 2nd "this place will become your tomb", and last "Take me back to eden"

It really lights a fire under my ass. Like take a second, use context clues, do a Google search, and just think. Think about the words you're writing. Before you post the video. For the love of god.

Once innocence is lost, no matter how much you scream into the darkness for it to return, its lost forever. Take that as whatever it can pertain to. A relationship, your intentions, childhood, or our very existence. Nothing But Thieves song Ce n'est Rien covers kind of the same subject matter. You can get angry, scream into the silence, and it will do nothing, which makes you angrier.
