it's even more beautiful to know that the text is dedicated to the Cassini probe, crashed into Saturn's atmosphere in 2017 as its last act of life and knowledge. A probe that has gone far beyond its initial mission and has really allowed us to get to know a piece of saturn.

A lovely touch is the change in the last line: "With shortness of breath, I'll explain the infinite." To me, he's repeating what he's heard. He's carrying on a legacy. It's making us, ourselves, the infinite. 11/10 Beautiful song

Ryan from sleeping at last literally Creates music. Listening to his podcast too on how a piece of music is assembled and you will be blown away. His Atlas Enneagram is among the best albums and podcasts I have ever listened to. I identify as Enneagram type 3, while my wife is a type 6. Man we can listen to it for hours on repeat.

Around 8 months after I lost someone I love I found this song. The first time I listened to it I cried so hard because she was in this song. She taught me courage, she taught me the beauty of life, and a few weeks before she was gone she said to me "I wish you would see yourself through other people's eyes, to realize how amazing you are". I wish I found this song sooner and played it at her funeral.

Oh gosh this song is very special. No matter how many times I listen to it, no matter how long I've been hearing this song, I get constant goosebumps and shivers throughout my entire body. SAL has made sure to not only solidify this song, but so much of their catalog, deep within my heart and soul. I wish I could articulate better how much this song affects me. Thank you so much to you and your friend that recommended this, you have truly brought magic into your life, and to the lives of others. Much love from Newfoundland, Canada.

I get emotional every time I hear this song, and I have heard it a lot. It speaks to something bigger and more important than the things we think and worry about in our daily lives. We often miss that magic and beauty in life focusing on the ugly. A lot of times it isn’t until life is nearly done that we figure that out…. If we ever do in this life….

You may have missed it, at the end of the song he switched the lyric from “with shortness of breath *you* explained the infinite” to “with shortness of breath *I’ll* explain the infinite. So it’s like, passing on this message, this appreciation. Like a father teaching his son, and then him teaching his son. Kind of makes it come full circle!

Here comes a little background about Sleeping at Last for you: SAL is project by Ryan and his musical output is insane. Dudes really creating and composing a lot and has many albums and pieces of music in general. If you watched Greys Anatomy (I didn´t) you will hear his music from time to time cause he works with several shows and stuff. Because of this insane output I have to confess that I still haven´t heard his entire discography which I usually do when I am touched by an artist. But I really like the two Atlas Albums. Atlas 1: I think the whole space series is phenomenal - favourites: Saturn, Neptune, Pluto / Atlas 2: the sensual (touch, taste, smell etc.) and emotion series (Joy, Anger, Fear etc.) is so wonderful. I think someone in the comments also recommend songs from the emotion series. My favourite Album is the Enneagram-Album. The enneagram is a system that describes the human personality by 9 different types. But it goes much deeper as the myer-briggs thing as it is based on your inner fears and motivation. Each of the 9 songs in this album describes the journey to self-acceptance and empowerment from our childhood wounds. Even if you don’t know anything about the enneagram you can enjoy these songs and learn a lot about yourself. Favourites are 5 - 7 - and 8. I hoped this helped a little for you upcoming journey of Sleeping at Last. Big hug from Berlin, Sarah.

I absolutely loved your reaction! Saturn is one of my favorite songs of all time, I’m so glad you liked it! As far as other songs by Sleeping At Last goes, I’d strongly recommend Atlas: Heart, Mercury, Earth, Atlas: Two, and Atlas: Sorrow. All of SAL’s songs are extremely poetic and beautiful, I’m sure that no matter which one you pick you’d enjoy it! Also little side note, I’m so happy to see someone finally react to SAL, not many people on KZbin actually do reactions to his songs, especially not reacting to more than 1, please keep up the Sleeping At Last reactions! I hope you’re having a good day btw!

One of my favourite things about the song is at the start of the lyrics. It's saying "YOU taught me the courage of star before you left how light carries in endlessly even after death with shortness of breath you explained the infante" then at the end it says "with shortness of breath I'LL explain the infante how rair and beautiful it truly is that we exist" it will forever stick with me as it reminds me of how my grandad would take his time explaining stuff to me and telling me how special it was to be alive and how i wished that i could have been older and to have known how to write i was 5 when my grandad died but most of my early memories or atleast the happy ones were all spent with him. And now that im 18 and my older cousins are having kids and older friends having kids as well as the younger siblings of friends and im getting asked all the same questions i would ask my grandad geting to pass on his words and his views on life with people who were never even thought of when he died 13 years ago just makes it real specifically the line "how light carries on endlessly even after death" to me it means how the knowledge and wisdom he passed down to me and the words that stuck to memories are still engraned in my mind even years after his death just like how when a star dies we cant see straight away it can take hundreds or thousands of years for its light to die out because how far away it is and how long it takes the light to travel from the star to our eyes. "The Light after death"

You understandably thought the last verse was repeating. It wasn’t. It says “With shortness of breath, I’ll explain the infinite”. In other words, as an old person he shares the same gift to another and so it carries on. It’s such a special and deeply moving piece of music. Surely one of the most beautiful ever written.

This may be the last sunset I'll see, So I'll take it in, I'll take it in. This may be the last air that I'll breathe, So I'll breathe it in, I'll breathe it in. And with shortness of breath, I'll explain the infinite. How rare and beautiful it truly is, That we exist.
