The water drops on forehead is Chinese water torture. It's where one is tied in place and water is dripped one drop at a time on the same spot for hours on end.
@Kono-Dio-Da_ Жыл бұрын
I tried that as a dare after I heard about it in one of the yt shorts... At fist it was funny, then it became uneasy, then irritated, then the pain started little by little... I stopped by the time it felt like someone was strongly flicking my forehead every second... The short said it is only the beginning after which the torture really begins so I b!+ched out..

@@Kono-Dio-Da_ I took a road trip with some people from college one weekend, and this weirdo who was the driver had put Horse with no Name on a 90 min cassette tape front and back and played it endlessly on repeat that way until we had to stop for gas. It truly was pure torture. I hate that song now and would be quite happy to never hear it again as long as I live. I switched cars with other friends on that trip the minute we stopped for gas (sadly, a few hours into the trip). Unlike the funny scenes of the 10,000 Miles song being on repeat in Marshall's car in How I Met Your Mother, listening to that dumb horse song on repeat does make you go nuts. The comedian absolutely nailed that! 💀

Dry Bar Comedy is great. Every set is different, but the same stage, they just dress it differently. The whole point of Dry Bar is it is clean comedy. There are many (100’s) of performances, some have moved to their paywall app, but they have many still up for view on their channel. The best part about them is you get to hear a huge variety of comics you normally wouldn’t have heard about before. More up and coming to mid tier than your Carlin or Gaffigan sized audiences. Tylor Boeh, the one who did the country list “I love this town” is great and does do a lot of his comedy musically.

The water droplets on the forehead is a reference to waterboarding torture while playing terrible sounds to get information from a prisoner. He's saying after a few drops of water with the song playing, he would already admit to stuff he never did lol. I thought it was a genius joke
@CJohansson Жыл бұрын
Water droplets is probably about Chinese water torture. Still torture, just a bit different from waterboarding.
@91GT347 Жыл бұрын
Its actually the Chinese Water Torture. Water boarding is where they put a mask over your face. water on the mask. Which seals up all the air holes. The drips on the forehead can make you go insane. The other is suffocating with a side of slow drowning. Neither is fun. Lol
@heresstigman4392 Жыл бұрын
@@CJohansson Sure thing, not saying I'm right, it just made more sense to me that the first few drops to hit your head while listening to that song would make you admit anything. Waterboarding is more widely known so that's why the joke popped for me, but you're probably more accurate.

Used to drive my little brother nuts that I'd always sing that song wrong. Another one, Oh Sherrie (by Steve Perry) starts off with the line "Should've been gone!" but to me it sounds like he's saying Cinnamon gum! So "Blinded By The Light" is a song written by Bruce Springsteen for his debut album Greetings From Asbury Park. It was later covered by Manfred Mann, which became the much more popular and recognizable version. A side by side reaction of the two versions would be epic; as it is an amazing song with great lyrics, especially if you can find a video of the VH1 Storytellers version from Bruce!

The comic joking about Chumbawumba - Tubthumbing (I get knocked down, but I get up again, you are never going to keep me down) mentioned a few drops of water on his forehead in reference to Chinese water torture, the act of being tied down so you can't move your head or body and having cold water dropped onto the same spot on your face/scalp/forehead for hours on end or even days. Hippolytus de Marsiliis of Bologna, Italy (a doctor and lawyer in the late 15th and early 16th century) invented this method of torture after noting how the continuous dropping of water on stone eroded it over time. It, however, was rarely done long enough to indent a skull as that would take years but it proved extremely effective at causing mental deterioration and psychosis in as little as 20hrs. Other water torture methods like simulated drowning and waterboarding have put Chinese water torture in the background of water based tortures but if you ask me Chinese water torture is the scariest one as it will literally make you insane, which is arguably way worse than the potential PTSD of the other water tortures.

There’s an interesting story kinda related to this topic. So back in like the 80’s or 90’s something like that, in Europe a guy made a song that sounded like real english but was actually just gibberish. Because music from the US was popular in europe, and because many of the people didn’t actually speak or understand english, he was able to make a song that sounded like it was made in the US but it was actually just an american sounding pop song with gibberish that sounded like english. You can find the song online and it’s uncanny how real it sounds without actually saying anything at all. I highly recommend it if you want to experience how american english might sound to someone who doesn’t know the language.
