OMG! Your reaction is the funniest I've seen. Yup! That's Sepak Takraw. Originated and made as the professional sports by Malaysia and Thailand. Sepak is in Malaysian language which means Kick and Takraw is Thai language for the word the Basketweave Ball. Been played in the South east asian region for so long, and then, joined by other East Asian countries as well.

Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Myanmar modernized and standardized it, not only 2 countries. Sepak Takraw (Sipa in Filipino) used to be the National Sports of Philippines, & it is a pre-colonial game,, but we changed it to Arnis since Sepak Takraw is shared by south east asian countries, & Malaysia also claims it as their National Sports. It is an ASEAN game first & foremost, based on history, I admit tho that Thailand, Malaysia & Indonesia are more invested on it. But for sure every Filipinos who went to public schools know it..

It's simply football and volleyball, but in sepak takraw, the service is thrown by the side player with central player kick it from middle (first few scenes), and you can touch it three times in a row, unlike volleyball. It's the most played sport when I was in elementary school

Thai people like to play sepak takraw. Because it's fun and the equipment for playing is cheap. A regular takraw ball costs about $5. And the takraw ball for the competition costs only about 10 dollars.
