Since this is only your second listen, i was worried. This song made so many people go off and yes he was called those names and also received death threats. They did not get the satire. Yours was a great reaction. You get it. i love your open mind. Tom's intention is not to polarize like many think. He really does try to point out things that we should be talking about and uses his music to get the conversations going. You said that "I don't know because I don't know him". He has done many interviews that you should check out. You will learn a lot about him through these interviews. One thing i fear though is if you only go down this path you may think this is the only kind of music he does. He does so many different types of songs, (ie not only political / satire) so be sure to check out some of the more serious ones and light-hearted ones as well.

Like another comment said, a lot of people are close minded AND/OR they just want to continue being mad so they don’t even see that this is satire but with that said, it’s also got a very serious message underneath the sarcasm and joking nature of the delivery. "The System" sounds good, but I think it's flawed. He lists a bunch of opposing positions and claims that it's because of some ambiguous boogeyman called "The System". But as long as people are free-thinkers, there's always going to be people with different ideals that oppose an opposite party. That's not because of some entity called "The System". Sounds like he's saying we should be NPC's with no opposing views or stances.

Tom made a song "If I was Black" Which gives his perspective on how he imagines he would feel if he was born a Black man. You should give it a listen. Peace and love. And yes, the far left targeted Tom over many of his songs. He's public enemy #1 to many people who pay attention to the rap scene. He's been called everything you can think of and Naz* was quite frequent. He's received many death threats, been told to just die, and had many wish death upon him for years.

Yeah, it's already been mentioned, but Tom lived in the hood where he and Nova were the white people, so he also made If I Was Black track from the perspective of his neighbours. He also did Whiteboy - non satirical - we has a Whiteboy Before The Shoot video speaking to the actors involved, telling them why he made the song. #HOG UK

Hey Britt, I agree with you for the most part however the only thing I will point out is that it is now unfortunately socially acceptable to say negative racist things about straight white people that you would NEVER be allowed to say about any individuals of other backgrounds. I do not know why it is so difficult for everyone to treat each other as individuals according to the Golden Rule of treat others as you wish to be treated.

You have the best personality to react to Tom. So many reactors either feel like they have to worship Tom or hate him. 1. Tom is funny, anyone who has super negative opinions kinda exspose their sense of humor imo 2. Some of Tom's songs are repetitive, and I don't just mean the hook but some of his songs are the same message he's already made a song about. 3. This is the 4th of your TM reactions I've watched today, and now I've subscribed. I've watched you pick up on some of the more subtle messaging and symbolism in his music, and that speaks volumes about both your intelligence and your openness to ideas that might not necessarily agree entirely with your own (though I suspect you are much more on board with his message than you let on). Open mindedness is the key. Welcome to the #HOGNation. To one of your points, and what he is hammering home here: stereotypes are the product of bias, which is in turn the product of environment...the environment you were raised in (and thus your personal observations *in its own context* ) and your parental influences growing up (which are, themselves, products of their own biases). It is human nature to see and judge differences, whether it be color, culture, creed, religion, etc. ad nauseam. There is not a single person on the planet that does not have biases of some type toward other people. It's just a fact of human nature. Sadly, most of those biases (and the stereotypes they spawn) are, by their very nature, corrupt and incorrect...because no single characteristic can accurately describe an entire people. That is the very root of racism. It is only those who can see past their own biases to recognize their source and learn to both acknowledge and respect those differences between cultures, races, genders, religions, etc., etc. who will truly move us forward. The more who choose to do it, the better off we will *all* be.

Thank you, Britt, for reacting to this one. Tom has a wicked sense of humor that is well on display here. No, it's not how Tom is, it's what he's been accused of by ignorant people. Unfortunately many people didn't appreciate the satire, at all. He released his song Whiteboy early when he was first getting known, which got him a lot of hate, some time later he released If I Was Black, and they still call him racist and every other name in the book. Tom has an uncanny way of putting himself in someone else's shoes and looking at things from their prospective. The underlying message in all Tom's songs is unity. #HOG🔥🔥🔥

This is the song that provoked Mac Lethal to start throwing shade at Tom. Then Tom made a diss track towards him called "Lethal Injection". Then Mac Lethal responded with a diss track several days later, and preemptively said he wouldn't respond if Tom made another diss. Great reaction! Glad you took it the way it was meant to be taken. A satire on the stereotypes that are thrown at him and those like him. He does a lot of political and controversial subjects but he also does more lighthearted and/or less contrraversial subjects. Check out In God We Trust, Castles, Dear Rappers , and Church. For a change of pace. Also check out Nova Rockafeller. She is his girlfriend and produces all his videos and she is a talented Rapper in her own right. My two favorites by her are Gang Gang (featuring Tom) and Did Your Best. Really anything by Tom is worth looking into.
