Diana is polyphonic and sings overtones , so if you are hearing extra tones etc. that is usually all Diana .

Hello Jim, you're talking about "usually". What does that mean? You should always be aware that the "ShowMustGoOn" performances often used backing tracks with pre-recorded vocals. Sometimes by Diana and sometimes by other singers. Diana explained this herself in a Q&A, for example in the song "Crow" a male guy sings these short low notes. Diana is really great. But even she can't do anything impossible with her voice at a live performance. That doesn't take Diana's greatness and class at all. So Jim I recommend if you're really interested you can see it for yourself. Have a look here: a Q&A with Diana from November 27, 2021 Link kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJC5f5qOjM6XiKs on Diana‘s channel with good subtitles. Diana herself answers a question about the backing vocals. For example, she says that the low notes in the song "Crow" were sung by "Vlad", a male backing singer. And depending on the song, in preparation for each performance, they checked which voice would fit best. This means that not everything that we hear in terms of singing is really sung live by Diana and not always sung by Diana herself, but by other singers (male and/or female) singers in the background. They then use prepared backing tracks for this. I think that's quite normal. Please take note of this and take this into account in your comments. That way you don't have to say "weird" things to other people coming from the music industry who know a lot about music and what they're talking about. Sorry, that's unfortunately become a bit more detailed and somehow repetitive. And Jim, rest assured that I don't mean to offend you in any way. Greetings from Scotland! OK, fun fact - Diana wasn't really "there" when she sang this! She wasn't feeling to good before this performance and she said she decided to allow the song to take over her body and soul! She remembers very little of the performance or afterwards, until she was sat with her fellow contestants again! Look at her facial and body language, especially those incredible eyes! That ain't young, shy Diana! She often allows this incredible phenomenon to happen when she sings very deep emotional songs. She spoke about it in an interview before a concert and on a Q&A session. This can be likened to an actor "Getting into their character" where you "live" the character. Diana is well known for "becoming" the song she sings. She lives the pain and the emotion as if it were her own pain and emotion. You'll see many examples of this as you really get to know Diana. It's great fun watching you. You are doing very well. This is also from the new TV show in Russia. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well known artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. November 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won the overall competition of which Diana won 4 and took 2nd place once. She shocked the other singers with the first song. The Crow was her masterpiece in this competition, in my opinion. The judge who stands up is the great opera singer Yusif Eyvazov and the husband of Anna Netrebko, who is world famous. He's very impressed. I’m sure you understand that in the upper levels of those competition series they use backup singers. That part where you mentioned, “… So you guys say she doesn’t use backing tracks? What was that?” That was back up singers. When you hear what appear to be reedy harmonics, that’s her singing in overtones. From the competition show “You Are Super,” her rendition of the folk song Rechenka is utterly transcendent- One of the greatest single live performances ever caught on film.

Диана Анкудинова настолько преображает исполняемые ей каверы, что они становятся почти неузнаваемыми. Она как будто берёт в руки чертёж красивого здания - но строит на его основе что-то совершенно неожиданное. Совершенно не то, что могли бы построить другие. У неё может получиться дворец, или храм, или старинный замок - в которых смутно проглядывает замысел автора. Каждый раз она показывает вам что-то новое - и вы каждый раз безошибочно узнаёте её почерк, её стиль. Её стиль: способность меняться почти до неузнаваемости - и оставаться при этом абсолютно узнаваемой...

This is also to be considered as an explanation and "kind of apology". Of course, squeezing these words in is particularly challenging, especially for a non-native speaker. Would I like to hear a full piano version of this beautiful and meaningful song by Diana? Absolutely!. I think the song suits her very well. But for that she should really improve her pronunciation. Because this is not just an accent, but in my opinion (smaller) parts of really bad and incomprehensible pronunciation. On the other hand, it's great that Diana can also sing in other languages ​​that she doesn't understand at all. And she dares. She is fearless. I am convinced that with more preparation Diana would be able to get an acceptable German pronunciation. And last but not least: In order to really become an international star, Diana would have to at least improve her English language skills significantly for the whole Anglo-Saxon world. In my opinion, Diana has at least improved her English pronunciation a bit. So that means she needs to focus more on that as well. Which takes time and effort. And in addition to her career as an artist, she is still in training and studying. But Diana is also very young and can have a very long career. So I think Diana doesn't need to rush into anything, but should take one step at a time without haste. Diana's potential is so extraordinarily great. And that's why I believe that, unless something completely extraordinary happens, nothing can stop her from becoming a world star and staying that way for a long time to come.
