In the spirit of Halloween, my reaction to Helloween's Keeper of the 7 keys. (United live 2017)

Bald guy (Kiske) is their old singer from way back. Him and one of the guitarists (Hansen - who's also their very first singer) came back, and Helloween became sort of a super group in and of itself. Think it was just to celebrate their legacy for a concert tour first, but seems like they all liked playing together again, so it's been years now. Helloween has been at it since 1984 - and basically shaped power metal into what it is today. Hansen is also the guy behind Gamma Ray. Kiske and Hansen had the band Unisonic together. Kiske has been in a lot of metal and rock project stuff like Place Vendome, Avantasia etc etc. They have a ton of insane live performances from recent years just as good as this. "How many tears", "I Want Out", "Forever And One", "How Many Tears", "Halloween" and "A Tale That Wasn't Right" to name a few!

Dude … if you truly enjoyed this song, I will just say - welcome to the Helloween world. I’ve been a fan for the past 20 years and still can’t get enough of them. They’ve been around since the mid 80’s. They’ve had plenty of significant line up changes and a few experiments with their sound in the early 90’s but overall - all great albums. Their latest self titled album “Helloween” (2021) is a good way to start with their style especially because two of their former band members were reintroduced and now they’ve become a 7 member band with two vocalist and three guitar players, one of which is also a singer on his own. Another set classic albums are Keeper of the seven keys (part 1 and 2) from 1987-88, Time of the oath (1996), Better than raw (1998), Gambling with the devil (2007), Straight out of hell ( 2013). If you like heavier things, try their debut “Walls of Jericho”(1986), which is a blast and basically is the European answer to the debut albums of the American big 4, year it’s this heavy, and Seven sinners (2010)

Thanks for the info and the suggestions. I like the two vocalists and the rest of the band is fantastic. I'm going to check out more Helloween.

@@NateRockneCheck out Better Than Raw, late 90's release. The entire album is amazing, Midnight Sun might be one of their best tracks. They've been around since 1984 and you really can't go wrong with any album you choose.

Wo ist dein TRINKHORN? :D I still remember listening to this band's albums as a child on the holiday car trip from Germany to Greece. Without Helloween this trip would have been 10x as long

Nate, you need to check out Tommy Johansson... often referred to as "the male Floor", for his vocal talents... he covers a Helloween song, Eagle Fly Free... youll be blown away!

You like crazy voices? Tommy Johansson - the lead guitarist of Sabaton - sings cover songs like Ghost love score or The Phantom of the Opera (both voices). You can check his YT channel. Or Beast in Back - Blind and Frozen . Their singer Yannis Papadopoulos can also sing incredibly high. He did also a cover of Ghost love Score. I know the recommended bands pile up but maybe you can check for yourself 😄😄
