This was Nina Hagen at her peak. (It's actually a really sad song.) Beautifully written, covered by several artist. Many consider her the godmother of punk. She was an outspoken feminist at a time when this wasn't nessesarely acceptable in German culture. I love Nina Hagen. I haven’t listened to her much these last few years. I was so surprised when I saw you were reacting to one of her songs. The entire Rockpalast concert is on KZbin (at least it was) and every song is great. Sometime maybe... Auf’m Friedhof from this same Rockpalast show (Live 1978 is its title) You mentioned the band a few times, and they were the best that Nina ever performed with. Unfortunately they split up, in my opinion anyway, because of their jealousy for Nina getting all the attention. They formed a band by the name of Spliff.

Zappa encouraged her to sing in english on NunSexMonkRock which is considered by many to be her masterpiece and artistic peak; the album is quite abstract and employs every one of her vocal tricks; the tracks are very psychedelic and there is a lot of use of vocal overdubs/reverb/delays/stacking. And the production is excellent. I believe Paul Shaffer of The Tonight Show fame played the keys on that one
