Guts took a lot of W's but they turned into L's when Griffith became a member of the God Hand. Guts is a mere human up against a godly being at that point, it's inevitable loss. Guts is a top tier main character for overcoming what 99.9% of humans would've succumbed to and died from as a normal human. Puck changed him for the better so Puck best character in Berserk haha.The manga is legendary and has the best artwork in any manga I've ever seen as people praise it all the time, but be warned that there are a lot of disturbing scenes throughout the series. Like it's seriously fucked up.

Bersrk: the golden age: the advent -------------- it's 3D cgi really not that bad (or maybe not, meh), you do get used to it after a bit (or maybe not, meh), if its jarring for you, and the combat scenes are amazing, though even if it is jarring/unbearable for you, like it or hate it, this is the anime continuation of the story, with season 3 getting "somewhat close" to catching up to the manga... 2. season 2: Berserk (2016) 3. season 3: Berserk (2017) --------- the newest OVA (a remake, retelling of the golden age arc within season 1, I'm assuming) (2022): Berserk: the golden age: memorial edition

The movies are actually just a recap of the golden age arc. Like done with better animation because the og came out in the 90's and these openings are from the 2016 remake, and it sucks, mostly cgi and 3d animation by a studio who never worked with 3d before, so fans got done really dirty. The openings slap though.

I don't understand how you can fuck up a show so badly, it doesn't need crazy good animation, just good solid animation and a good adaptiation. Now I have to read the manga.
