The song is about that taking that leap of faith and confessing your love for someone, surrendering to your feelings, the free fall is the momentary silence before they answer back that time that feels like an eternity all the while you are falling to your 'death' while anxiously waiting for the answer. She has taken that leap because she is sure of her love, has accepted it and is allowing it to happen and the only thing is for the other person to 'catch' them by embracing and accepting their love.
