Great 2nd reaction to Nightwish. All the songs at this concert were actually written for their previous 2 singers. In fact, Floor was still a replacement singer. She had replaced Anette, the previous singer, mid way through Nightwish's USA leg of their World Tour. This concert was towards the end of that tour and just 10 months since Floor had taken over as vocalist! Shortly after this concert, Nightwish announced that Floor was officially joining Nightwish as their new lead singer. Troy, a multi-instrumentalist who you haven't seen yet, also joined at the same time. He does appear on a few songs from this very concert. Stay safe 🤘 ✌️

They may have been written for other singers, but floor killed it and made all of them her own. I could not listen to another vocalist doing these songs now.

Tuomas (keys) is the main composer of the music and lyrics for Nightwish. You will find that the studio version is sung by the previous vocalist of Nightwish. This is one of the reasons we all suggest to react to live performances. Floor has recorded 2 records with Nightwish in 2015 & 2020. They also have new one coming in early 2024. I think you may also appreciate some of Floor solo performances. She has a brand new solo record coming out tomorrow, called "Paragon". Much softer style, but still Floor Jansen. One of my favorites along with many others from this amazing band. If you keep reacting we will be here to share the journey Inna! Love the big beautiful smile and those gorgeous eyes! She is on the same level as Freddie Mercury, that's how iconic she is. I would love to have seen the two of them together, and the two bands together. omg could you imagine the creations of music, and the sounds?!! It would be at least as spine tingling as Freddie & Montserrat Caballe. Floor was asked who was the one person she would like to sing a duet with, and she said Freddie. If you watch closely, you'll see that some of her movements are similar to his. Just fantastic way to nod to him.

Your comment on the previous video about them looking engaged on the stage - I don't think I've ever seen a video of them on stage (sadly, I've yet to experience actually being at one of their concerts as I only found them myself about six months ago) where they don't look like they are having great fun! When this video was made, Floor was still quite a new addition to the band and was still making her mark. Ten years on, she still has that same smile on her face every time she takes to the stage. This is a band that loves doing what it does. I even saw a video clip earlier today of them in their concert in Osaka from last night. Floor Jansen has had a tough year, being diagnosed with breast cancer last October, which mercifully she had her operation and is now cancer free and things are looking up. Only a few days ago she announced she was pregnant with her second child. In the Osaka concert, she is very visibly pregnant, and was still dancing around the stage having the time of her life. She also released her own solo album yesterday of music that has a very different sound to what you hear with her Nightwish stuff. Nightwish is a band full of talent, but they also seem to be really down-to-earth people. Every interview I've ever seen with Floor, she comes across as one of the most humble, genuinely lovely of people you could ever hope to meet. You ask "how can it get any better?". Ohhh...... just wait.... You're just getting started. 😉

Tuomas Holopainen (the keyboard player) composes the music and writes the lyrics to almost all Nightwish's songs. I have been following them for maybe two years (I am 73 year-old male, never had been a metal fan. Now I can't stop listening). I am just recently starting to appreciate Tuomas' abilities and his importance to the band and its popularity. It is Tuomas' music and score which leads us to love Floor so much (although she is amazing singing covers of other artists, or her own compositions, or Phantom of the Opera, or Vilja Lied on Beste Zangers, et al.). There is a documentary, "Making the Album Endless Forms Most Beautiful" you should watch. Set aside a couple of hours and you will learn a lot about the band. There are other documentaries which are very informative. One is "Please Learn the Set-list in 48 hours" where you learn how Floor joined the band. Listen to "The Life and Times of Scrooge", a full album written by Tuomas, based upon a graphic novel about Scrooge McDuck (a Disney animated character). The music is astonishing. It is a beautiful movie soundtrack. Unfortunately, the movie hasn't ever been made. HOWEVER, Nightwish did make a movie. "Imaginarium". It was made before Floor was with the band, and the singer who appears in the movie is Anette Olzon. It is not a musical. It is about dementia. I think. Pretty sure Tuomas wrote the script. I have wandered far enough. You have a beautiful journey ahead of you. Please enjoy it. At least you are starting young.

Hello I have some info on Floor Jansen for you here. She is married to Hannes Van Dahl, drummer of the Swedish power metal band Sabaton. Together they have a daughter. ( Freja ) Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 3 octaves (C3 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish. Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Great reaction Inna! I've seen this happen so many times on youtube. A reactor gets a suggestion to watch Nightwish, they've never heard of them before and then the band rapidly moves up to become one of their favorites. It's an amazing thing to see! Here in the US, many people have never even heard of this music genre (Symphonic Metal) before and get blown away by the music. Two songs that I like are I Want My Tears Back and Romanticide. I believe they will be added to your playlist also when you hear them. Love your channel!

Can sing in many languages such as Dutch, Spanish, German, Italian, English etc. Floor can sing in many Genre's Like Opera/Classical, Pop, Rock, Metal etc Floor sung many songs from Age 16 in her first band After Forever, Revamp, Northward, Nightwish and her solo Album just released. This is our Valkyrie Goddess for you. And you witnessed first hand a "Dutch Windmill" , and to finish you off, The Operatic "Cruise Missile" !!!! Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bullwhip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch. Awesome tune , although it is kind of a popish sound (originally sung by Anette, the second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Including this "Operatic" part, what was originally done by children's choir because vocal limitations on their second singer (Great singer also, I might add), but Floor has none of that "Limit" (by the way, you added Anette version on your spotify). Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straightforward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this. Be aware that you need to get the version featuring Floor Jansen as this originally recorded with second singer, Anette Olzon, who was a pop singer and couldn't sing the operatic middle section so a different singer used. She also couldn't sing many of the songs written for the first singer Tarja Turunen who was quite operatic. At this Wacken concert every song written for the previous two singers and Floor nails every one of them. You will see in other comments that Tuomas Holopainen, keyboards, writes 95% of the songs.

It's great that you found Nightwish and the band brings joy to life. We feel the same, NW brings joy to life! 😊 Tuomas Holopainen, keyboards, is the magician behind NW magic. He is a master composer, a poet and a very skilled keyboard player. Visionary. He could easily compile a book of poems from the lyrics and topics of the songs, the songs are so well written. He mainly writes in English, but he has written the lyrics of a few songs in Finnish. And as a Finn, I enjoy his writing style. His text in Finnish is really beautiful and I wish he would write more in Finnish as well. It seems that his ancestors must be ancient poem singers!

I think Nightwish would be even more popular worldwide if their music sounded good on low quality speakers, too. Most people do not have high quality speakers so they should use high quality headphones but typically do not have those either.

Nightwish fan here... I just happened upon your reactions and love them. You picked two great songs to react to and trust me there are many, many, more. Might I suggest checking out Romanticide and "Song of myself" from the same show. If you want to check out something a little different from Floor Check out Yours is an Empty Hope live... Also Floor Jansen & Henk Poort - Phantom Of The Opera | Beste Zangers 2019. Floor is amazing. Wait until you hear Marco singing with her in Romanticide... They are all simply amazing to me. Had to be one of the greatest live bands... When you are ready you have to check out Greatest Show on Earth (Tampere Version). It is EPIC!!!

Be aware there are 2 versions of storytime. This version sung by Floor, and the music video version sung by rhe previous singer. You'll have to decide which version you like best. I'm biased!

"How could it get any better?" Haha. Oh, that won't last long, as I am commenting the second you said that before you heard the song. Lol. You'll be saying that before each new Nightwish song you check out, and each time, you'll be wondering the same thing. 🙂 Having said that, this might be my favorite Nightwish song. Nemo, from Wacken 2013, and Everdream are right there. Nemo makes me really emotional for some reason, in the second half of it, and Everdream is just impossibly good. Everdream Floor had said once that it was the most challenging for her to sing. Storytime though is what I fell in love with. That chorus is so amazing. I welcome anything more from Nightwish - especially that you fell in love with them also! You mention Floor's stage presence, and you're right. It's very strong. Saw them live and she was stunning. She made you feel like she was there for you, and when she asked you to clap or cheer, you did. You had to. She has such stage presence and command, but command in a really good way.

Thanks for your reaction! I find it always amazing when watching Floor again, that she seems not to need air, or she has an infinite amount of air stored in her longs ... . More NIghtwish please! Everdream is great as a next one. (again from Wacken - same concert). Or of you want to see Floor in a completelt differnt setting: try 'Phantom of the Opera' - from Beste Zangers 2019.

I am 67 years old and a lifelong Pink Floyd fan, I came across Nightwish as they did a cover of Pink Floyds High Hopes. I stil prefer Pink Floyd's original performance but I was surprised how good Nightwish's metal version was. I have been a fan ever since. Pink Floyd are still my favourite band (maybe it is difficult to teach an old dog new tricks) but Nightwish is a close second.Love your reactions, your energy and smile I am also a big fan of yours now.😀

Since you were raised in Italy you might already know of this band. Lacuna Coil. They are a gothic metal band with powerful and amazing female lead vocal. Actually she shares lead vocal with a guy but most songs she is lead.
