The singer is Dave gahan one of the longest serving front men of all time. Starting in 1979 as an 18 year old and still with the band an incredible 45 years later

49 y.o. here. DM was never my main thing to listen to as a teenager, but I couldn't (can't to this day) stop their album "Violator" once it started. One of the greatest bands from 80s-90s-2Ks, and this is their very best song IMO.

The break down in the middle is what they do for their concerts nowadays! The org. song is around 4 mins or so ;) Violator is a great album ...But for me songs of faith and devotion is the best for me Dave drug years was the best he had this feel to him (darkness) Because of the drugs!! This was the early 90s with the goatee and long hair and he was thin as bones!

Depeche Mode is one of my 80s favourite bands since I listened to their song People are people (1984) for the first time and have been a fan of their music ever since. They have a whole string of great albums and songs worthwile your time. So far I have not seen them play live but hope one day i can.

He was singing close to the guitar to allow his voice to be picked up by the strings. It's subtle, but your voice's vibrations can be picked up by the strings and guitar pickups if the gain is turned up. It comes across as a buzzing sound.

It reminds me of the movie Ferris Bueler's day off an the high school years of the 80's era ,this was preppie music an the higher class only listen to this music in my era! Great review!..😂👍

In the late 1970s there was speculation about what the first electronic pop group would be like. Well, here it is. From Basildon in the south east, Brit Boys Depeche Mode were a hit machine throughout the 1980s and even broke America. This dates from 1990, when they were being pressured by the growth of acid house in the UK, but they gladly surfed that out.

Ciao Inna e complimenti come sempre...

So addictive, and never gets old... I knew the song (way back), without knowing who the band were, so when I initially heard, I FEEL YOU (the 'rock orientated' come back single, 3 years later), and realised it was by the same band who did ETS, it was quite a shock!
