I thought you do not compare groups yet at the end your whole reaction boils down to a simple move in the dance break which you think is a bts move. Please note that dance breaks are popular even before bts. And you are right when you said everyone is influenced by someone at some point. SB19 even said they look up to bts. So I don’t get it when you said what trumps you in really liking them is the dance break. Oh well, everyone has their own opinion and I still want to thank you for reacting to our boys. Now, I have a dare for you. Watch their ballads (live performances) especially their debut song, tilaluha, and then tell me if you can still compare them to kpop. The genre by the way is OPM ( Original Pinoy Music)

@@Notjustkpop I’m glad that you caught those Spanish words. Philippines was a Spanish colony for 333 years. We are the only country in Asia which is mostly Catholics and shares the same culture with the Latinos because of the Spanish influence. Words like sapatos, kutsara, kutsilyo, braso, lababo, trabaho, tuwalya, meryenda, and a whole lot more are very much evident in our language today. Have you thought about my dare? Please listen to their ballad and live performances.

you got me curious so I listened to the dance break portion of BTS "On", I get what you mean on the possible style choice and "similarities" but if I am being honest, I think you may have connected it way too much. The instrumentations and the level of volume were perhaps less than 10% similar. so no offense, but you may just have stick to your suggestion of "not comparing groups" in the first place. So yeah, in the same way that you got disappointed towards the end, I got disappointed too as a viewer.

Well they are unique group. They want to do there own genre. Its very risky to be unique when it comes to music because we people get use to common style.. As you can see in this MV is that it is very unique vibes because it is new for people that's why it is very risky to do your own genre because it is not sure if people would like it.. But still they manage to do it well.. Btw check their live performances especially in TMPUSUAN LOVE SHOW song title TILALUHA

Hello, thank you for reacting to SB19. But I just want to say, as you said you are a musician, please do listen to other kpop groups. Kpop is not equal to BTS, no offense. But there are alot of groups out there that deserves to be heard. There were groups that were there before bts happens. I'll give you an example. Super Junior They are 15 years and counting in the field. They have many albums, also they have solo singers with their own songs too. They have a rich discography with them experimenting on different sounds. They have collaborated with Spanish singers too. My point is, there are many kpop groups, please listen to them too if you have time. Also, SB19 is a PPOP (Pinoy pop) group. Ppop is also rising with SB19 leading the way to international scene. That's all, thanks!

Thank you for reacting to our P-pop Kings. I agree with you when you said that every musician gets influenced by other musicians/ music. :) I love how music is universal, like BTS has definitely been influenced by other great K-pop groups before them. K - POP (most experts agree started in the early 1990's) is soo popular worldwide but it cannot be mistaken that it has influences from American pop ( A-POP is legendary) and modern Japanese pop (J - POP started to be popular in the 60's if not earlier). As for SB19's WHAT? song, Pablo (leader) wrote the song and also co-produced it. According to him, he was more influenced by QUEEN's We will Rock You when he envisioned how the song will be like. :)

Even basura is spanish for trash and bandera for flag...Philippines or Filipinas in Spanish is named after King Philip II of Spain. There are 5-episodes docu film of this MV. Their process is how they do it eversince. They do their own choreography by Stell the main vocals, this is called lyrical hiphop - the choreography matches the lyrical content of the song, which is composed by Pablo, their leader with the help of Simon Servida, a Canadian based Filipino composer through a long process of back & forth coordination. They directed their own MV Justin the youngest as Creative Director. In terms of choreography, does BTS own the dance move? No, They usually hire professional choreographers and some of them are Filipino Choreographers. SB 19 collaborated with Tank Bautista, not as a choreographer per se but also as a coach because they needed to polish the choreo and them to move as one unit. He was able to tap into their inner self. It was shown in the docu series. And Tank Bautista had been to Korea too in the past as a Professional choreographer, He is a two time world champion (with his crew UPeeps) and Filipinos have been competing & winning in these competitions ever since I can remember. Before the Koreans learn hiphop moves, we were already busting our moves in the international arena so no need to copy anything. (If there are things that SB 19 took away from their Korean company, these important things 1. rigorous training 2. Discipline. The first album Korean inspired but this album, New Era, Their company gave them Creative freedom) The Americans were already here as our colonizers during or after first world war after Spain left. So, part of their culture, or if you are an American, part of your culture remained here up until today and it is very visible in the entertainment industry. The Americans did not only teach us the English language, there're a lot more. Additional info: The venue of the dance break was even a second choice because the first site was raining heavily, you know when it rains here in Ph it pours. So they had to make a quick decision, Lahar country pampanga. that was not an ordinary sand, that was lahar (Mt Pinatubo eruption, that was the year the G.I.s left) and It was nearer Manila and the weather condition is at that time favorable. And the concept of dance break is 1st world war, references to Filpino-Spanish War and 'or Fil-American War (Almost same timeline: First part - Filipinos fighting for freedom and next US invasion), hence, the uniforms used. They did not use the Filipino flag because it is a personal triumph against all odds. Represent your own flag in every battle (struggles in life) no matter what. And the title of the song is a word play for watawat, it means flag. You can also check how Simon Servida came up with this beat >>>> kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqi7eoCBeL2ZrqM

You made many assumptions that BTS can't even start to assume for themselves. Certain sounds and moves, as simple as a dab, is not patented, as far as I am concerned. And it's strange that you discounted the entire performance just because of bits and pieces that are reminiscent of BTS. And dance breaks are even as old as time. BTS can't take ownership over dance breaks. I love BTS even before SB19 came but as far as I am concerned, the music industry, especially boy bands, does not revolve around BTS. It's time for you to realize that.If you can't, then maybe try to consider sticking to BTS.

At first the MV looks all over the place but if you dig deeper and finally understand the song. You will understand what it means. As atin we are used to being thrown to the world of theories. We often theorize about their songs and mv coz they put bits and pieces that makes us blown away. I love that about SB19, its like we are in an adventure. We don't always take SB19's songs literally coz that will make us lost to confusion. That map at the end was actually a clue for their new song called Mapa that will be release on May 16. Hope you make another reaction vid about them . I recommend SB19's TILALUHA performance at TM PUSUSAN. Thank you and good day. Fun fact: They were actually dancing on Lahar or Volcanic Mudflow from the 1991 Mt. Pinatubo eruption.

Can I be honest too? At first I wanna fast forward this reaction video coz I'm losing interest before you even react but I stayed til the end. But I'll probably like this over the other rv for as long as you'll be honest and will give constructive criticism. It's okay if she doesn't like everything about it. We'll respect that. But just a short trivia: the song is about self-empowerment and individuality that's why it has so much going on in there, there are many symbolisms that you really have to understand the song and the concept deeper coz it doesn't only have one meaning. That's how creative the boys are especially Pablo who wrote and co-produced the song and Justin who is the creative director of this mv. Yes, they are influenced by many artists in the world but in the dance break part, kpop is out of the equation because it was made by Sir Simon Servida, a Filipino based in Canada. You can watch the making of What in this link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqi7eoCBeL2ZrqM SB19 is a P-pop group but they can do ballads and other genres. and in addition, as well don't just read the lyrics in their literal meaning.. each word in the lyrics has a deep meaning. Like what you have read in the subs that " I carry my own trash and bring it with me". You understand it literally but what they're trying to say is that each person has our own trash/ or bad qualities that no matter where we go we will carry it with us, or no matter what we reach in life we will have our feet rooted on the ground. In two simple words "Be humble".

That's a great reaction you both have there! Thanks for checking them out! The producer of the beat Mr.Simon Servida had his own vlog (kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqi7eoCBeL2ZrqM) making the final beat of WHAT? how they all did it over DM & zoom meetings with Pablo SB19 leader, compose-producer. And if you want more you can watch at your own leisure the 5episode (kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHXWc4KKatiDfdk) docu-series of making WHAT? from the beat to the choreography, to conceptualizing the entire MV & more. And from there you'll know why WHAT? is a masterpiece! And yes they do have some inspirations from BTS, they themselves said "as a group, they look up to BTS". In fact, they are the group that covers BTS' songs exceptionally well among other cover groups. . . in my opinion. Actually, Stell & Josh's previous dance-cover group (before they became SB19) won a competition in S.Korean and were able to meet & interact with BTS. TILALUHA -TM PUSUAN performance (kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaO0l6GPq6qtiLM) would be great to watch if you want to hear how good their vocals are individually & as a group! Enjoy!

Filipino Language have many words from Spanish because we were colonized by Spain for 300+ years. Even our surnames are almost all Spanish/Latino sounding. We have San Agustin, Del Carmen, Dela Cruz, and more. Many Filipinos even look like Latinos haha.. maybe it's not just the words we shared, but the blood as well.

Before A'TIN was announced on November 2, 2019, there was an unofficial fandom name called "AURUM" the Latin word for gold and the source of its chemical symbol, "Au". Aurum is not a fandom name but a group of people supporting SB19. Before SB19s debut, Aurum already existed. It was misunderstood by fans so Aurum was spread and called as SB19's fandom name. ☆Meaning behind our "A'TIN". A'TIN "There's no 19 if there's no 18" ATIN means ours. AURUM'sb9TIN There is an apostrophe ( ' ) after "A" in A'TIN. Sejun said that Aurum will never die and it will be forever in their hearts so they put an apostrophe after A remarking Aurum in A'TIN. The meaningful AURUM is still part of our fandom name and A'TIN without AURUM is actually nothing. A'TIN becomes more meaningful because of AURUM. That is how thankful our SB19 is. They know how to look back where they started and humbleness in them never fade. I am proud to be part of "A'TIN with AURUM" or "A'TIN without S"

Well first let's talk about the languages, because the Philippines were colonized by Spain for 333 years most of the words or phrases that we use are based in Spanish language. Second for SB19 they were not only inspired by BTS only but P-pop is inspired by K-pop. Fun fact SB19 is under a korean entertainment company that's why they received the same treatment like korean idols did. They are also facing BTS in this year's Top Social Artist of the Year for BBMA's along side with Blackpink, Seventeen and Ariana Grande.

SB19 Facts: There’s certainly no way but up for talented members of SB19: Sejun/Pablo, Stell, Josh, Ken & Justin. Over the past months, SB19 members has been dominating Twitter trends and catching the hearts of both local and international fans - with no sign of stopping. Some facts about the hottest P-Pop group that would probably give you reasons to stan them, too! 🔹History of SB19 SB19 is the first-ever Filipino boy group to train under a Korean entertainment company, ShowBT. The group consists of five talented boys who were trained tediously with the same training provided to K-pop idols like BTS, EXO, GOT7, and Seventeen. 🔹SB19 Members Sejun - Leader, Vocalist, Main Rapper John Paulo Nase was born in Cavite on September 14, 1994. Sejun is into writing and producing music with G-Dragon as his music inspiration. And on one of their early interviews, SB19’s leader mentioned the stunning Nadine Lustre as his local celebrity crush. Stell - Main Vocalist Stellevester Ajero was born in Las Piñas on June 16, 1995. Stell enjoys cooking and teasing the other members. And when asked about his ideal type, he mentioned that the lucky girl-to-be should be caring and understanding (just like his mom!) Josh - Vocalist, Lead Rapper, Visual Josh Cullen Santos was born in Pasig on October 22, 1993. SB19’s main rapper likes Gloc-9, Smugglaz, Loonie, BTS, and Big Bang’s G-Dragon. Ken - Main Dancer, Vocalist Felip Jhon Suson or simply Ken was born in Cagayan De Oro on January 12, 1997. This self-proclaimed chicken lover reveals that his ideal type is someone who is confident, talented, and has the grooves to dance with him. Justin - Vocalist, Rapper, Visual SB19’s Justin De Dios was born in Malabon on July 7, 1998. Among the SB19 members, Justin is the bunso or maknae who looks up to Michael Pangilinan & KPOP group GOT7 and is very vocal on having crush on MYX VJ Sharlene San Pedro and Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo. 🔹SB19 Official Logo Last October 19, 2019, SB19 Instagram account posted the official logo of the thriving P-Pop group alongside a lengthy caption explaining the deep meaning behind it. instagram.com/p/B3b4SENhdp6/ SB19 Songs Tilaluha (2018) ‘Tilaluha’ is a mellow ballad song which primarily tackles about the painful moving on process after discovering that the person you love has someone else. Tilaluha official music video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3fUpK2rosZksLM Go Up (2019) SB19’s breakthrough single ‘Go Up’ talks about the overall journey in reaching one’s dreams and aspirations. And as cliché as it may sound, this über bop song’s message is very simple - never ever give up on your dreams. Go Up official music video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYPJma2Nls6ErM0 Alab (2019) SB19’s single ‘Alab’ is all about expressing love through colors (red, black, green, yellow, violet) and dance moves. Alab official music video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6W6pomnj9OigpY Ikako (2020) ‘Ikako’ is an inspiring song dedicated to the selfless country’s workforce and front liners. It was composed by SB19 leader’s Sejun and was released last May 15, 2020. Ikako music video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXS0oot9itt2oZY Hanggang Sa Huli (2020) kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWmVf357hLuda5I 🔸SB19 Racism Controversy Fame usually comes along with controversies and SB19 is no exemption. The P-pop group was accused as a racist back in December 2019 following a Twitter post about their concert at Negros Occidental in the Visayas region. “Hello, Negros! We are now in your zone! Excited na kami sa mga mangyayari sa aming first stop for our nationwide tour #SB19inNegros #SB19 #SB19_JOSH #SB19_SEJUN #SB19_STELL #SB19_KEN #SB19_JUSTIN,” The supposed promotional tweet ignited confusion to those unfamiliar with the province and branded it as a racist remark. And although, fans were quick to clarify that ‘Negros’ is a place in the Philippines and the five guys mean no harm - the ‘racism’ controversy made it to the Asian Boss. Watch it here: SB19 Awards Gifted with amazing vocals and powerful dance skills, SB19 surely didn’t just captivate the hearts of the fans but also bagged numerous awards. Below is the list of some awards that they have won: Best Idol Group in Southeast Asia (Starmometer) Next Big Thing (Music Rank Extra Awards) Top Social Artist (Music Rank Extra Awards) Artists of the Year (MSTYLE Globaline Awards) Rookie of the Year (MSTYLE Globaline Awards) Favorite Dance Performance (MSTYLE Globaline Awards) Song of the Year - Go Up (MSTYLE Globaline Awards) Favorite OPM Song - Go Up (MSTYLE Globaline Awards) Favorite OPM Artist (MPS Online Awards) Favorite OPM Group (MPS Online Awards) Favorite New Artist (MPS Online Awards) Favorite OPM Song -Go Up (MPS Online Awards) Favorite Chart Topper Song - Go Up (MPS Online Awards) Favorite OPM Music Video - Go Up (MPS Online Awards) SB19’s trophy bag might seem to be full but there’s still a room for more awards: Breakthrough Artist of the Year (Wish Music Awards) Wisher’s Choice Award (Wish Music Awards) Wishclusive Pop Performance of the Year (Wish Music Awards) Fandom of the Year - A’TIN (Village Pipol Choice Award) Group Performer of the Year (Village Pipol Choice Award) Breakthrough Artist of the Year (TV Series Craze Awards) Fastest Rising Boygroup (TV Series Craze Awards) Favorite Group of the year (RAWR Awards) Most Favorite Pop Boy Group of the Year (PPOP Awards for Young Artist) Performing Group of the Year (PPOP Awards for Young Artist) POP Inspirational Song of the Year (PPOP Awards for Young Artist) Most Promising Recording/Performing Group (Box Office Entertainment Awards) SB19 SNS Accounts And if you can’t still get enough of SB19, you can follow the group’s official SNS accounts for more updates: Instagram officialsb19 Twitter SB19Official Facebook SB19Official KZbin SB19Official With their exceptional talent paired with humble attitude and ‘burning’ passion, SB19 would surely ‘go up’ and soar higher!

You're absolutely correct about "bente-bente" "Intelligente" and "bandera" - those are all Spanish words due to Spanish influence in Filipino culture. Colonized by Spain for more than 300 yrs! :D We even have a region here that actually speaks a variation of Espanol (Chavacano).

SB19 was formed by ShowBT Philippines, the Philippine subsidiary of ShowBT Group in Korea, after the five members were selected out of hundreds of aspiring idols during a talent audition in 2016 and underwent the same type of training provided to K-pop idols, attending classes ranging from voice and dance to personality development and body conditioning. The group debuted on October 26, 2018, with their first single, "Tilaluha". Their initial effort at promotions, mostly in schools and malls, was met with a lukewarm reception. 2019-present: Mainstream breakthrough SB19 performing at Lazada 11.11 Supershow in Sofitel Harbour Tent on November 11, 2019. Their second single, "Go Up", was released on July 26, 2019. The group began gaining attention after uploading their dance practice video for the song to their KZbin channel, which became a viral sensation on Twitter and Facebook after it was shared on the social media platform by a Filipino K-pop fan. This paved the way for the group's appearance in various radio and television shows as well as coverage from different local and international media outlets. On November 20, 2019, SB19 became the first Filipino act to appear on the Billboard Next Big Sound chart. They also became the first Filipino act to enter the Billboard Social 50, debuting at no. 28 on the week of December 28, 2019 and ascending over the following months. Jeff Benjamin, writing for Billboard, noted that their rise in the chart was aided by a growing international fanbase, and remarked that it was an indication that "more artists [will] continue to look East for inspiration and a larger audience". SB19 is a five-member Filipino boy band who debuted in 2018 and consists of Josh, Sejun, Stell, Ken, and Justin. They are the first Filipino act trained by a Korean entertainment company to debut in the Philippines. They are also the first Southeast Asian act to enter the top 10 of Billboard Social 50 as well as the first Filipino group to chart on the Billboard Next Big Sound chart. Despite the apparent K-pop influence, SB19 promotes its music as part of Pinoy pop (P-pop), a popular sub-genre of original Filipino music. Origin: Metro Manila (2018) Record label: Sony Music Philippines, Inc. Albums: Get in the Zone Awards: Awit Award for People's Voice Favorite Breakthrough Artist & more.

I'm not kpop fan or kpop stans but I heard many of them and watched their mv ..yeah they all good .. But SB19 has their own unique ..like they always says they want to showcase what's opm is and setting it up on another level ..if you are used in kpop and firstime listening to SB19 you will say they has d same vibes to kpop bcos they are trained under kpop management here in Philippines thts why ..but if u keep digging and listening to them ,you will slowly recognizing that their diffrent..for me SB19 reminds me more of boyband In the 90's like Backstreet Boys and N'sync, Blue ,their vibes and genre is so versatile .😊and Philippines artist like singers are all so much better in live ,,they just d same sound as mv or studio ..they are not used also into lip syncing or autotuned

First, when you heard Spanish words you reacted as if you owned all the Spanish vocabularies. Like, duh, YOU colonized us for more that 3 centuries so what do you think would happen in those yearssss? Those words are part of our vocabularies. Second, you blatantly compared this song to whatever you know of BTS? This doesn't even sound like kpop! This is more like rock. Yes, SB19 takes inspiration to different genres but it's not good of you to say this and that and root back to BTS. BTS doesn't own pop music. But Pablo owns this music. HE WROTE IT.

Hi i come across your video. I don’t know why you compared their moves to BTS. You can check out their - What? The Making Film. It’s a 5-episode youtube docuseries about how they conceptualize the MV, message of the song, and choreographed it. It has English subs. I hope you’ll check Simon Servida’s channel, he is a filipino that co-produce What and Mapa. Thanks for your reaction video. Looking forward for more RVs of SB19.

You’re hearing some Spanish words because of the 400 years of Spain’s colonization the Philippines 🇵🇭 Your sweating reactions are hilarious. 😂 You hear a lot of Korean influences because SB19 is managed by a Korean company based in the Philippines. But seriously, “Ken the garbage man”?? 😂 Anyway, the way this video was edited was brilliant so to each her own I suppose. But as a filmmaker, the technical side of the MV was crazy good. And also, KPop isn’t the only one with dance breaks. Those have been around longer than kpop history.
