The first Australian band to sell a million records! Judith Durham has a great voice. You might want to check out their biggest hit song - Georgy Girl.

The Seekers were another great Australian folk pop band from the 60's. Judith Durham had such a beautiful voice. She just passed away recently. They had so many great hits including "Georgy Girl", "The Carnival Is Over", "A World Of Our Own", "Morningtown Ride", "Someday, One Day" etc. They have beautiful voices & harmonies. They don't make nostalgic music like this anymore. Reminds me of a simpler time.

Judith Durham was a Super Star in Australia. She had a remarkable solo career in music after leaving the Seekers. She died last summer at 79 years of age. She was sensational

The Seekers had a special world class sound, those guys could really sing [and write songs], and Judith was frosting on the cake, they blended so good together. This song conjures up sweet memories of my family and times in 1965

I have lived this song...both the beauty and love, but also understand the effect (really bad) of the loss of that perfect, all encompassing love. This song just tears me up every time.

The Seekers recorded this song in the main studio at Abby Road. Usually reserved for the studio owners, The Beatles. They were produced by Tom Springfield, Dusty Springfield's brother. They knocked the Beatles out of 1st place with this song

This is a recreation of the original session, over three years later. In the original they laid down the guitar tracks, then stood in a circle around one mic.

My wife of 39 years died two years ago. There are two songs that make me think of her so much that I cry every time I hear them. This is one, the other is "I Will Always Love You" whether it's sung by Dolly Parton or by Whitney Houston.

I've always been very impressed with people who can play an instrument while singing (and with a group) and do it well. I admire and envy them. What a special gift to have. Music is a language that everybody can enjoy. P.S. 'Hello Tasha' : )

The Seekers started out playing on cruise ships . They are from Austrailia . They found there way to the uk in the early 60s Tom Springfield wrote this for them Who is incedently Dusty Springfield brother . . This became a hit and the rest is history ,m They even gave the Beatles a run for there money back then JjUDITH DURAM had a beautiful voice . They had many hits and were a very popular Folk band . Judith split from the band in 1967 but rejoined them in the 90s . They kept playing until about 2015 . Sad;ly Judith Passed on about a year ago . Great Folk band very well known back in the day .THANKS TASHA for bringing these guys to your channel John.

Before they worked their way to England on the Sitmar line cruise ship they had spent a year or two playing in Melbourne cafe venues, recording big selling folksong albums and appearing on the top rating Melbourne television program of the time. That Australian success gave them a reason to be noticed in England off the boat.

Sometimes I think I won't like a lot of the older tunes, but that was very authentic, sweet, and emotional, excellent. I would sing that to my future wife. I also like the song Georgy Girl by them.

The Seekers' folky music was so earnest, it strikes me as pretty corny today. But there's no getting around that strong, round voice of hers (tone for days!); and they were a disciplined and carefully rehearsed group.

Just remember that half of them are dead of old age and the other two are 90-something. They did some great stuff, bridging the folk genre with early rock.
