That’s why I love it so much. It’s such a tense song when you understand the concept to it. When Ado covered it, she genuinely brought out the deeper emotion to it. I’m not a singer, not a professional but I can gauge out the feeling to it from Ado’s performance. I could yap on and on, but she approached it with anger and desperation which was most of the point of the song - and she nailed it perfectly.

The coolest thing about it all is that Ado is perfectly applying her diversity in singing and unhingedness to match the meaning of the song. The song is about a girl obsessed with seeking attention and love from everyone around her. At 8:30 when she's screaming she basically says "only look at me (i'm better than all these other girls)" And at 11:06 she's saying "this is happiness" and the scream that follows it to me just perfectly embodies the twisted and pained emotions the girl in the song is going through

You would be even more surprised when you search the lyrics, how Ado matches her singing skills with the lyrics
Artists make you feel what they feel. She feels free when she is singing. She is freeing herself and just IS. She lets her voice, passion, creativity and energy just flow. For the music to take her on a journey using her voice as an outlet. And everyone listening to her thus also feels freed. Her music gives us permission to also freely feel whatever we feel when we listen to her and express it. You see it in her concert. The audience is just going crazy listening from the awe they feel and freely are able to express. It's so amazing. Her concerts probably feel like a whole 10 day holiday or something. You let out everything that congested and come out totally free, light, vibrating with life and full of passion, creativity and awe for life itself.

SI

I love that you covered Ado. I discovered her music through Usseewa, it had 37M views when I first heard it. I'm so happy that she is recognized worldwide. She has really came a long way and I cried during her Aishite Aishite Aishite live performance as well as Unravel. Those songs evoke a sense of nostalgia to me on my younger years when I was still in the gacha phase. I didn't really understand the meaning back then, but the way Ado sung it deeply resonates with my current state. It helps me so much being a person who rarely expresses or vents out my feelings. Those songs are a part of who I was and am. The rawness in Ado's delivery is so impressive, it's insane how much it changes how you listen/interpret how a song will feel like. I will end with saying that Ado's music is therapeutic. I absolutely would love a reaction and vocal analysis on Miyashita Yuu. He also has impressive techniques on singing. I love his cover of Non-breath Oblige. You won't know what to expect. Thank you!!

So happy you reacted quickly on this one, thank you for your analysis as always! It's interesting you mentioned from 6:46 is the different ways of sighing into a few notes, and as a member of her fan club who has watched/listened to some of her backstage content, I can tell you she actually does that when doing vocal warmups! She repeats some bits (like one line of a song) in multiple ways, sighing in multiple ways into them, so you really pinpointed something here. Something she often does in vocal warmups are head voice/falsetto rrrrruuu's and small chest voice runs upwards

Here are some more little "live" performances by her (as much as karaoke is considered live): Instinct - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqLMpWuwhZd-d5Ysi=6zFUqtV92FtOeBdU (originally by Sheena Ringo, who also made Crime and Punishment) KICK BACK - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKTOpGl_aq54aLcsi=H_rhp9dGHp3L5Bei (I'm quite sure at the start of the video she does say that this is the first time she seriously sang this song which I find hard to believe considering how impressive her performance is) Anyways, give these a listen if you happen to have some time. Once again, these were recorded while she was out with her friends to karaoke so she's sort of being hyped up by them constantly (they even join at some points since they are fellow singers themselves) but both performances are really impressive (as far as I'm concerned… I only have surface level insight when it comes to vocals)
