The fact that Jari has lost part of his lungs still baffles me...I have so much admiration and respect for Jari for not letting his disadvantages stop him for becoming one of the greatest metal vocalists I've ever heard. So much love for Wintersun! I also definitely got my daily workout watching Kai do magic on that drum kit! 😝Thank you for watching with me! ❤🤘

I hope you do the last song from same rehearsals Land of Snow and Sorrow. There is also the great Forest Seasons album. Awaken From the Dark Slumber (spring), Forest That Weeps (summer), Eternal Darkness (autumn: the best black metal song for my opinion) and Loneliness (winter: really beautifull). Also first album Wintersun has really great songs like Death and Healing, Starchild, Winter Madness, Sadness and Hate, Beautifull Death and others also. Hope you are well... Peace 🙏🏼😎✌🏼

You display your heartbeat?! Subscribed! And you're right. Amazing wall of talent, the whole band, and Jari is from another world to be able to sing like THAT and play these master-level-only compositions. Check out *Winter Madness* from Tuska, from when he still sang and played live. Sound taken from the board and filmed from near the stage from the crowd for a great feeling of being there. Amazing guitar work. More!
@ThaBeatConductor2 жыл бұрын
So my best guess from a producer stand-point on the sound in the beginning, because there are a few ways to get that sound. What I think Jari did is make a twinkly synth lead sound that doubled the guitar, recorded and reversed the sound, applied delay then reverb, recorded the reversed lead with delay and reverb, then reversed the whole sound again. Makes this weird swell-up-into-the-note type sound, while being perfectly on time since it's just the same melody. I've used this trick many times. Also, maybe it's time to start on The Forest Seasons album? It's a concept album and a lot of people will say do loneliness - (winter) first, but it's the last song on the album so it doesn't really have as much impact without hearing the songs that come before it first, so you should just do the whole album in order.

Metal music is just so much more. I don't get people that claim to love music but at the same time say they hate metal. Metal has so many layers, its just more. Also Finland is just something else with "this" genre of metal. Story telling and jumping between melodies.. Wintersun are great, and NW who is legendary. have been lucky that every time they need a brilliant musician. they just go to Wintersun, first the drummer, then the bassist.

In the intro that is a clean Classical guitar tone it’s done by the use of an acoustic pickup like used in an electro acoustic guitar fitted in the bridge of his guitar, if you watch the transition he flicks a switch this is what switches between the two modes. Nice review, it’s interesting to hear more technical analysis! 💖

Dear Aileen, Wintersun is one of my favourite band ever and only because of the music itself or the band skills. The composition level of Jari is out of the charts and each note has a proper meaning. I could see the same reaction as I had when the chorus came : your eyes became a little bit teary. So much raw emotion in this chorus. Melancholy yet beauty. Lyrics also have quite an impact on this emotional rollercoaster. Awesome and genuine reaction ! I do recommend as everyone do : Loneliness (w/ Lyrics) by them to reach the peak of Jari voice's extend, as this song has a huge deep meaning to him if you're not familiar with the Forest Seasons album concept. Thank you very much, cheers from Tokyo

this band i love coz when they have good melody in they song,they play that beautiful melody long time. many band have great melody they song and it all go half wasted coz song last only 3-4 min. but in wintersun you can get full dozes that greatness in your ear and mind :) there is still wintersun biggest song left in my mind. loneliness song what jari make when him father die. that song is lyric version,and thats good. i think loneliness song go same super level masterpiece like queen song show must go on or metallica master of puppets. loneliness i definitely think is best funeral song ever made. ok thanx aileen to great reaction and have wonderful new week.

I have been waiting for this track yessss! And I am sure someone already answered this months ago, but just in case - the pedal they use in the intro to the song is just an acoustic simulator. Wonderful reaction! Just love this band. The masters of metal is the nordic countries Finland, Sweden and Norway. My suggestion (if I may) is to do some reactions from the two other countries. I think you have reacted to Sabaton from Sweden.. but I thought I would give you some other suggestions. From Norway I think you should check out the live version of Dimmu Borgir “Gateways” och “Mourning palace” and from Sweden I suggest you listen to Meshuggah (the drum cam videos.. if you like skilled drummers) and Orbit Culture. From the later I think you should look in to the live studio versions.. but it really doesn’t matter which song as Orbit Culture have done only bangers…. :)

Especially these Sonic Pump Studios songs do feel like musical storytelling with a theatre sound in a three dimensional space. The storytelling aspect adds time into the equation and probably influences the vocals too. Their talent and showmanship do have that same appeal as the great magicians or movie directors have-the trickery and illusion is apparent, but the promise of great entertainment is so alluring, that the audience just wants to do their part so they can get on that elevating ride.

I agree with other comments here, Land of Snow and Sorrow is a banger. I'd say check out a lot more in your spare time but that is one for a good reaction if you haven't looked at it already. Love your reactions! Great to see how someone really appreciate artists. I think you can't go wrong by selecting what ever song by them next, but... I do hope you eventually listen the forest seasons album, especially loneliness (winter), which Jari wroted after death of his father. One thing to note about the forest seasons album thought. Afaik Jari is playing all instruments on that album, only chorus parts are parts where others were taken part to song. So might be good idea to jump to that album only after reacted all songs you like to from Time I album.
