Well, Yes is one of those bands that you have ese into. This is a good start, but you have to hear "Roundabout", "And You and I" and "I've Seen All Good People". Then you will be ready to take on "Close to The Edge" and Siberian Khatru". Jon Anderson's voice is unmistakable and Rick Wakeman on keyboards takes you to places you didn't know you could go. Chris Squire and Steve Howe are absolute masters! Check out their induction into the R&R Hall of Fame with Geddy Lee (Rush) sitting in on bass playing "Roundabout".

I believe each iteration of the riff consists of the first four (five) ascending notes played on the guitar twice-then transitions to the bass where it is played repeatedly until that iteration is completed.

Yes has a good early hit song in “Roundabout”. During my high school years in the early-1980s, our high school marching band would play this song during football games. Another hit song/music video by Yes from their “90125” album, is for their song, “Leave It”. I would like to see you react to the music video, when you get the opportunity to do so.

The current guitarist Steve Howe isn't an original member, but he was in the band all throughout the '70s and was responsible for a MASSIVE amount of their music.

The 60s '70s, and 80s still rule rock - now the youngsters will carry that 50-some-year-old plus perfect music past when I die, it will absorb and last longer than any other music genre. So all is good - I can't spend more time with this kinda great music than I have time left. There is so much. Even Plant is running up on 80 VOTE - save yourselves - soon - always remember VietNam and Kent State - we are forgetting I fear

Steve Howe join Yes on their third album, entitled The Yes Album as the lead guitar player. Producer. Songwriter. Also, if you want to really understand Yes you really need to listen to just their studio albums. You need to react to "Roundabout." It is FIRE!

If I was asked to classify this song, I'd say, Progressive Pop. If you want Classic Rock flavored Yes, check out Roundabout. Chris Squire is heavily credited for being a major influence on Rush's Geddy Lee.

They are awesome live but the studio cuts are great too, only because you can hear individual sounds better. Gotta listen to the song Roundabout. The entire album, Fragile, by Yes is awesome and each song flows perfectly into the next. This song, Owner of a Lonely Heart was a huge dance club song...at least the ones I went to.

Check out the 70's Yes. That is where their best stuff is. They have 3 albums where every song is fire. Fragile, The Yes Album and Close to The Edge. You should probably go with Roundabout next because it is their most well known song and maybe best that is debatable. Many will ask you to listen to Close to the Edge which is a masterpiece but its 18 minutes long and you need to listen to a few of their other songs first to build up to it.

This song is one of my favorites- to really get a feel of what they're all about, you have to go back to the albums Fragile, Close to the Edge, etc. Their 70's material was groundbreaking. That being said- this song is an amazing evolution of their sound. Love it 🙂

If I remember right, the band said they had no input into the video, and the video doesnt really have anything to do with the music. I suggest skipping their 80's videos and see videos of them performing live in the mid and late 70's. Their 80's stuff on this album is great, but their best stuff is mostly from the 70's starting with The Yes Album. I've never heard it called dance rock, though they did edit a few songs into alternate versions for dancing. They are mainly known as a prog rock band that had some pop/rock hits in the early 80's. Do Roundabout next.

OMG! WHO TOLD U to PICK THIS 80's SONG by YES? This is them with new members being totally commercial. This song was their big Hit BUT THIS IS NOT THE GREAT 70s YES mentioned in the movie. 70s YES were unconventional groundbreakers of complex virtuosity that blended classical, jazz, folk, psychedelic, ambient and funk. They are deeply respected, worshipped and considered to be THE GREATEST GROUP EVER by many so you MUST 😢 do YES again!!! Try the song ROUNDABOUT from 71

It is an okay song though they have so many legendary progressive rock tunes. They are the top of Mt. Rushmore of this genre. Songs you need to react to and I believe will love are Round About, Heart of The Sunrise, Perpetual Change, And You And I, which is my favorite. Steve Howe who joined the band on YES’s third album and is the only living member to be with the band. You will also be interested in doing the song America which is a Simon and Garfunkel original done in their own unique style!YES were at their best from 1969 through 1980 and with their original lead vocalist Jon Anderson. You were hearing Chris’s unforgettable bass riff which had an almost lead guitar sound to it. Chris and Jon’s harmonies were among the best ever in the rock/ pop genre! The video was over produced and nonsensical though the song itself is rather good.As an old man from that ‘70’s era we used to by the whole album back then and not just singles because there were so many great tunes on each one.Back in the early 1960’s and again in today’s music world singles are what sells though not in the 1970’s and a good portion of the 1980’s!

Great song! Yes are an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968. The band has undergone numerous line-up changes throughout its history, up to nineteen musicians have been full-time members. They have had a lot of great songs such as "Roundabout", "Starship Trooper", "Going For The One", "Masquerade", "Yours Is No Disgrace", "Heart Of The Sunrise", "The Gates Of Delirium", "And You & I", "Close To The Edge" etc. Sadly drummer Alan White passed away recently.

This is a vid made WAY after the song came out back in the 80's. Hard for you reactors to choose the 'proper' studio track, I realize. But sometimes you can get totally confused by these 'after the fact' fabricated vids. The actual song has none of these crazy conceptual interuptions. Yes has gotten way too prog at times, but they DO have some fab songs along the way. Enjoy the journey...T PS: This album (90125) introduced them to a whole new 'MTV Generation' with an updated sound. It's actually a VERY strong album...

The video doesn't really make much sense. It takes away from the song. YES is the greatest progressive rock band in my opinion. I just subscribed. I subscribe to anyone who reacts to them as will many other YES fans so keep them coming. Loads of greats including "Roundabout", "Awaken", "The Gates of Delirium", "Close to the Edge", "And You and I", "Turn of the Century", "Starship Trooper", "Perpetual Change", "The Revealing Science of God", lots more.

Love this song - hate the video, LOL. The pause in the middle is TOO random and totally breaks the groove of the song. That, and the video is so esoteric it takes away from the musicianship (IMO). That said, I bought the album purely based on this song and it was one of the better album purchases I made - the whole album is FIRE!
