I discovered this awesome product not too long ago and before I jumped down the rabbit hole, that was my first thought, am I sacrificing the practicality of a pick up for this. This is a perfect solution! I have thought long and hard how to make my 2004 f350 more overland without giving up the bed as it is my daily driver too. Time to start saving up. Thanks for the walk around too, amazing content!

Should of done a re mounting video of the canopy to the tray. I wonder how fidgety it is getting it lined up and back on. For example, lifting the canopy off and leaving it at the beach camp while going for a 4by minus the weight in the rear. Id imagine lining it all up to remount would be a pita?
@TyFenwick4 жыл бұрын
Easy as to line it back up actually, you just bring it back down drop bolts in good to go. It blew me away how easily it lines up

Hey Ty, ended up ordering a Mits and put yourself down as my referral. Is there any reason you didn't add the sideboards for when the canopy is lifted off? Assuming they would just screw into those small screw holes on the sides and rear.

hey mate, this is awesome, I have a cheap canopy I got that doesn't have lift off points, however I am looking into adding some by drilling the canopy and adding in the aluminium tubing and altering some normal lift off legs. There is just a couple things I need to know to do it. I was wondering if you could be a massive help to me with two measurements? I am curious what the width of the frame or sides, (Pillars next to the canopy door) is? Also if possible what the inner diameter of the jack off holes is? Thanks man!

Hi Fenwick love the setup it amazing probably add a solar panel to it as well I think you do but I missed it A query though one of my friends was deciding to get a ford crown Victoria or Chevy caprice, are you familiar with the process of importing one Mate ? I mean has anyone ever done it Would love to hear from you on this Nice truck
@TyFenwick4 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, Yeah running solar panel on the roof on the RTT. With importing old vehicles I don’t have any experience unfortunately. My F250 was imported by a company not myself.
@krump74294 жыл бұрын
Ive imported an evo from japan before. Go through an importing company. Dont do it yourself it will be way to expensive. A rough cost break down of the process. You have to pay the costs off in installments as each process is undertaken. The evo itself 11 grand aus $ To have it shipped over, all the illegal bits stripped off it to aussie adr compliance, new tyres then passing it over the pits inspection and registering it ect was about 13 grand aus $. The one risk with importing a vehicle is you dont actually know what your getting, i did it through a company who has an agent in japan that goes to a car auction, they then took photos of the available car and then this gets forwarded on to you that fit into the budget you previously stated you are willing to spend. They class the vehicles a different rating 1 being poor and 5 being immaculate i got a 3/4 rated evo. They sent pics of the car and also the seats inside and also any lil minor cosmetic damage that maybe be on the vehicle then they tell you you only have x amount of time to put a bid in yes or no. Its then up to u to decide whether u want it or not. The risk you take is you dont know what ur getting. So need to budget a few grand to allow for repairs. My evo needed new brake pads and rotors and 4 new tyres, cause u purchase it as is warts and all. That is my experience with importing a vehicle into the country. I got an evo 6 for about 22k aussie dollars which wasnt too bad but it was kinda risky as i didnt know what i was getting. Not sure what its like getting it from america probably the same kinda process.

Still working on those numbers mate, I’ll be doing video soon on that
@000carpets4 жыл бұрын
Check to see if those bolts are high tensile?? They look like 8.8 standard duty not very strong. Maybe add another 2 or 4 bolts. It’s a lot of weight to hold. Most ute alloy trays are at least 6 and don’t have the consistent load. Just a thought but still looks the goods.
@AshleyHorne14 жыл бұрын
Truck still looks great man without the canopy on there! What’s it ride like now without it on? My car is rough without haha, also have you ran into any problems with your RTT yet?
@TyFenwick4 жыл бұрын
Haha thanks ash ! Yeah they really hate having no weight on them, but bouncy but I’m going to fill my water tank full as 120kg to the rear end. Long range tank coming soon as well so I can have it full that might be another 80kg. Stay safe during this time mate !
