It's real loving of you to teach your brother how to ride properly, i hope he is grateful.

Thanks for posting this. I'm 29 from the UK looking to start riding (have been looking at Ninja's 250/300) so it's really useful these beginner tips and seeing a real like newbie riding around and being told the real life stuff you come across, over videos just tell you how to pull away and stop, so those tips where really useful! I was concerned that being 29 might be too old to pick up a bike and learn but it seems to be simpler than I thought by watching a few videos, I guess it's just getting to terms with learning how to use both hands/feet and one time.

Definitely getting the Ninja as my first bike, not only for comfort but also because of the brakes, it also won't be powerful enough to kill me and would last a good several years
@Hadgerz10 жыл бұрын
Thought about trying for a ninja 300 instead of the 250? it's got a little more power to get you out of trouble, and better brakes/suspension/comfort. Also looks cooler ;D
@ranshiiekrueger8410 жыл бұрын
Hagz500R the 300 is alright, but I don't need much speed, because I'm mainly near the city, plus I'm not a heavy guy nor very tall xD but thanks for the response ^w^
@ahrenh2509 жыл бұрын
You'll want something bigger in a few months, but learning the basic nuances and technique on a 250 will boost your confidence and ultimately make you a better, safer rider. Confidence breeds competency, and riding scared is an accident waiting to happen.
@ranshiiekrueger849 жыл бұрын
Ahren H I've been riding a 230 Honda for the most part now to gain more confidence, sure I've got the hunger for speed, but I'm also gonna keep getting into doing more advanced stuff on the dirt bike first, that way when it comes to the ninja, or even riding on the road, it'll be less scary
@ranshiiekrueger848 жыл бұрын
I got the Ninja 300 and already had my first crash, but it'll be a good chance to upgrade the exhaust and get rid of the monster stickers, also gonna get some proper riding gear

GREAT JOB on that first ride...Your stops were great, You stop with plenty of room, looked more then once...smooth on throttle...shifting comes with time...I still double tap into first gear (do one extra down shift when I think I am in first gear)..lane choice is another hard thing to focus on when new. On bigger bikes I found that when turning from a stop, I never have bike turned in the direction i am turning when stopped. Always straight until I turn. Made it easier to balance and gives me full head turn both directions. thanks for the video

Nothing like documenting quality family time educating others in the process. Memories that will last a life time. I remember learning to ride my dads Honda shadow around the yard nice to see family sharing something so precious i wish we had a video camera when I was learning. Keep the shiny side up guys ride safe! =)

I took the MSF course and the hardest thing that I found was the friction zone. I must have stalled a billion times. Also I found myself looking down a lot. I'm ready for a bike but I need some more practice. Ninja 300 it is!

Riders with dirt bike experience tend to pick up street riding more quickly than riders with no prior experience at all. I began on a 80cc dirt bike when I was 11 or 12, and the transition from dirt to pavement wasn't too difficult... Until I dragged my foot in a quick turn (dirt bike style) and twisted my ankle pretty good. That pain unlearned my bad dirt bike habits real quick! Good stuff, well done!
@Vortigon8 жыл бұрын
That can be true - Dirt bike riders can get the basics quick because they already know how to ride, but also SOME dirt bike riders have a couple of issues: They pick up a HUGE amount of really bad habits that can stick with them for a very long time, and because they can ride dirt bikes from a young age and have usually have never been shown how to ride a bike properly from scratch, some can find it hard to 'relearn' the right way/safe way to ride. Which means it takes them longer to pick up road skills than a newbie with no bad habits. e.g. Dirt bike riders find it really hard to learn safety checks and observations. Depends on the rider of course and how long they have been dirt riding.

So i'm 16 years old now, and when i turn 17/18 i really want to start learning to ride a motorcycle. But is it better to first learn to drive a car of is it also fine to start with a motorcycle straight away ?

get your car drivers license first. buy a cheap 5 speed car.

I'm looking to buy this as my first bike, but me being 6' 3 would this be an issue at all or does height not play a huge role in a bike?
@bigdickbob698 жыл бұрын
+Steven Dang height isn't an issue, just as long as you're able to hold the bike up with one leg you will be fine! Best if you're able to be flat footed with one leg at least
@mysonspapa8 жыл бұрын
not really with a 250. its a sport cruiser so you sit upright. as long as you arent 280 lbs you should be good.

@terrapingeometers70129 жыл бұрын
Ariel Martinez it's a great bike. You probably already outgrew that bike by now right? lol cbr250 is a great first timer bike and around the towner. but 1 month later you're ready for an upgrade. so anyone reading this comment, get it for as cheap as you can used. Do not buy a 250 new from a dealer.

i just got my motorcycle do i need to shift down to 1 or 2nd gear if im not going to stop? it's ninja 250r and im able to slow down my bike just by letting off gas and staying on 4th gear for turn and accelerate back up with out down shifting is that good or bad? i also feel like im going way faster then i'm. is that normal when you first start riding? i usually drive my car 40 mph around my house (and it feels normal on 25 speed limit) but on my bike im riding at 20 - 25 mph and it feels like im going 50. it could also have to do with my exhaust being way to loud.

Notice your Ninja has a fuel gauge? most models doesn't come with that extra, normally just has the temperature instead of the fuel gauge. Is that because you added it and other mods(modifications) from normal?
