One more key advice just make sure you stay away from power lines at least 15 feet with the boom or you will fry the truck

Bruce, one tip I’ll give you, don’t unhook the line, put them on free spool and raise the boom, you want to keep tension on those lines as much as possible, use the boom to pull out some lengths of line, then unhook

Bruce, everyone was a newb at one point in their life. It's the "know it all's" that I can't stand. @@melvinalbert6172 I agree nothing beats actual experience but he can’t just jump in with no idea on anything towing and recovery related and jump right into a rotator without seriously fucking shit up… that is how people die, wreckers flip, booms crack, chains pop, etc he needs formal training and he needs an experienced operator.

Different risers to forks to get different hights. Yes the yellow is all to be one system to assemble different tow rigs on undereach. Besides rotation some also traverse front and back. Slings have ratings tags. Riggers book tell the amount of scrapes cuts before out of service. Look for charging cable on big remote on passenger control box. Yes playing with it is way to learn
@turnerfleet3966
@turnerfleet3966 2 ай бұрын
all those yellow things are called forks and you were correct that they are for front and rear axles (these ones you have to wrap a chain around what your lifting it by and hook it back onto the receiver). but the weird ones made out of flat plate you didn’t know the name of are spring forks, the go on the front of the leaf spring with the nub sticking up pointing forward then there’s a pin that goes through the pin holes to stop it from sliding off the spring. what the forks slide into are called receivers and the wide yellow bar is with the pintle hook trailer hitch on it with the two plates that come up with big holes in it, the 5th wheel attachment pins into that. when hooking up plan what your going to hook up to and with what first, you want to put your wheel lift down then back the head of the wheel lift under to around where the bumper is, this stops your from extending it too much which strains everything a lot. always try to stay as close as safely possible to what your working with, this puts less strain on everything and you can carry/lift more. also do not forget safety chains when on the road, it’s just two chains crossed to either side that hook on something that looks strong to the dot. i could share tons more tactics, dos and donts if interested.

You need some demountable skips there or at the shop to throw your steel and alloy scrap into, maybe "tyre Uk, tire usa bin"/tipper trailer to , some good gas axes to, cut all the scrap parts off/up. the engine in that international is scrap, prime candidate for the "hot spanner",.

Pound and talk to Ron at Midwest. Towing and Pratt has a wireless remote control for his. That's still off on off on that. He can control the speed and it plugs and recharges the stage in his unit. You would love that unit is especially when you working by yourself. Or with a new find out that you can walk around. See what's going on and control everything with the wireless remote that works at the speed you needed to Ron Pratt Midwest trucking he got the best set up.

Enjoying the videos Bruce. I injured one of my big toes when I started working after high school and my Dad drove me to the Red Wing store and bought me safety toes work boots. Decades later now I would still never show up to work in sneakers. I cringe watching you guys working with sneakers on. I’m betting that none of the Fitzgerald guys are allowed to work in them. You should contact Nick’s Boots and see if they want to partner up with your channel or one of the big brands like THOROGOOD, Red Wing or Georgia. My dad told me sneakers are for boys and the elderly. Working MEN need to wear boots.

Your front axle you don't need to drop it at all unless your hauling something heavy. An your wheel left on that back of the truck you need to keep it off the ground. Dragging it across the rocks is not good. You start getting rocks up in the slider its not good. I run a wrecker like that for 8 years. Even small wrecker to. Just giving you some hints an ideas an do an do don't do. I have rolled semis an trailers thats been laid over on there side back on there wheels by my self. I didn't go to know wrecker training school it just using your brain an be very careful. I can't say how many trailers we unload by hand on to another trailer. I remember we had a Prime semi an trailer lay over on its side it had close to 80,000 pound of cheese unload it all by hand. We had cheese are are house for months. I been on wrecks where you set there an wait for them to take the driver out of the semi in pieces. That is hard to watch. It was a Coke semi hauling soda the driver had a heart attack an was dead before he hit the pillers on the bridge. I had to set an wait for them to cut him up to get him out of the truck. I will worn you you never know what will happen it made my sick. 🤢
