My favorite band ever! They just got back together after 15 years just last week. I was actually at their second to last concert in the states before they broke up in December 08 in D.C. They put on an absolutely amazing show. Great reaction y’all! 😊

For context this version was played at Knebworth in 1996. They played 2 nights, 125K people per night. There were 2 million applications for tickets. The guitarist playing the mad Led Zeppelin style licks is a guest. It’s John Squire who was in The Stone Roses, one of Oasis’s favourite bands from their hometown Manchester. The Roses had split up earlier that year and Squire had formed a new band The Seahorses who were one of the support bands at Knebworth. He’s the reason that Liam says “Here’s Johnny” at the beginning as he’s announced on the stage. It’s just been the 30th anniversary of their debut album Definitely Maybe so maybe react to a big song off that like “Live Forever”.

Hello, not my 1st time commenting on one of your videos, the last time was an early Judas Priest upload, it was their debut on the old grey whistle test. Great to see a reaction to my other favourite band which have just re-united, i`m from the same neck of the woods as Oasis, not far away from their hometown, I`m glad they re-united, not just for the music, but for their own personal family friendship back as it was, their mother and their brother and the rest of their family and friend must feel great for liam and Noel, i know i am. I seen Oasis in 1997 at G- Mex which was recorded and it`s avaliable to see on You Tube. Oasis are the best band known to mankind.

Oasis have just announced a reunion tour - Liam Gallagher (vocals) and Noel Gallagher (guitar/ vocals) have ended their feud that broke up the band in 2009. However, the other members are still unknown (Liam has said that original guitarist Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs will be part of it) So far, only UK/ Ireland shows have been announced and sold out! This was the peak of Oasis' career in 1996 playing Knebworth in England (where Led Zeppelin and Queen had famously performed) to about 250K fans over 2 nights... The band was Liam, Noel, Bonehead Arthurs (guitar), Paul 'Guigsy' McGuigan (bass) and Alan White (drums)

@redtim3690 I'm a huge fan. Obviously they have a couple of songs that do, like She's Electric for example, but the vast majority of their songs are way too "heavy" to be compared to The Beatles. It's just a lazy comparison because they're British
@redtim36902 ай бұрын
@@TheHesK9 A few songs? Are you sure. I am not arguing that Oasis are a caricature of the Beatles, but they are heavily influenced by them. I am also a massive fan of Oasis. As for heavy - The Beatles invented the concept. Liam (and Noel) openly acknowledges that his vocal is heavily influenced by his idol - John Lennon. He kowtows to his image on the live 'Live Forever' song.

Great reaction as always. This will sound like an overstatement but Noel (Gallagher, the older brother and lead guitarist) may be the greatest singer songwriter in rock history. Liam, Noel’s younger brother gave oasis their signature sound with his unique vocals and swag. Look up “Rock Star” in the dictionary and it’s Liam. I could name 50 B sides most never heard of like “Talk to Me”, “Going Nowhere” and on and on which are some of the best songs ever written. Then I could name 50 oasis songs most know. Then in 2009 after they broke up (Noel and Liam’s brotherly fights over 15 years were epic and fodder for the tabloids in the 1990’s), I can name 50 songs of Noel’s as a solo artist in his high flying birds band that are masterpieces as good as don’t look back in anger, wonder wall, supersonic, champagne supernova through 2023 up until his 56th bday. No one has ever achieved that 20 years past their prime. Not Lennon, McCartney, Jeff Lynne, Billy Joel, Pete Townsend, Freddy Mercury, David Bowie, Roger Waters. Noooooo one. You could spend two years and it would t be enough to dive through Noel’s catalogue. It’s insane. I saw him last year in west Palm beach and I grew up in miami. I’m sure your patron recommended oasis cuz everyone me knows the unthinkable news that Liam and Noel buried the hatchet and decided to tour for 17 days next summer to cash in. It’s estimated they will each make $50 million in the two weeks, more than they did in the entire 1990’s, just crazy. They have 4 shows alone at Wembley that holds nearly 100k people and I was 350,000 people ahead on f me on Ticketmaster just seconds after tix went on sale. Only 2% of people worldwide snagged seats to any of the 17 shows. I’m hoping they will parlay their money and decide to do a US tour. It’s so funny cuz Noel and Liam have been touring as solo artists the past decade and no issue buying tickets. But put them back on stage together and they are Oasis. A once in a generation band with Noel as a once in a lifetime songwriter. Let’s just hope the lads can keep it in check on stage. Rumor has it in 2009, Liam through an Apple at Noel backstage in Paris before a huge venue and Noel said that’s it I’m done. He got into a taxi with 50,000 screaming fans and hesitated to himself and said, if I drive off, Oasis is done. Then he drove off and wrote 100 more incredible songs (way past his prime). It’s the stuff of movies. They’ve done documentaries but some day they will have to make a drama about them and I think it will top Queen in my humble opinion for story. Working class lads from Manchester England where no one ever amounts to much. In fact, Noel was working construction when Liam said I formed a band, you should check us out. Noel had taught himself acoustic guitar as a kid with a guitar none of their family can understand where or why that guitar was even in their house. Their father was physically abusive to all three boys including their mom Peggy and their father then abandoned them, of course he reappeared after Liam and Noel became famous but they said take a hike. You don’t get any more real than the two of them, pre or post fame and money.

I keep hearing that Beatles tribute band thing, but although the brothers sure revere the Beatles the number of songs that musically (!) reference the Beatles or emulate their musical style is fairly small I find. And where they do reference them (e.g., the Imagine-like beginning of Don’t Look Back in Anger), it doesn’t mean the whole song is Beatles-esque.
