Oasis debuted in 1994 and were called 'the second coming of The Beatles' in the UK... Hailing from Manchester, England... Oasis featured brothers Liam Gallagher (lead vocals) and Noel Gallagher (guitar/ vocals)... who fought each other often, being in the same band. Noel was the primary songwriter and Liam had the voice to bring Oasis songs to life (Noel sang lead on some Oasis songs including this one) Oasis has the fastest selling debut album in the UK 'Definitely maybe' ...just behind The Beatles, who were a huge inspiration. The band also featured Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs (guitar) and Paul 'Guigsy' McGuigan (bass)... Alan White (drums) replaced drummer Tony McCarroll on the 2nd Oasis album in 1995 "(What's the story) Morning glory?" ... which became a massive worldwide hit - 4x platinum in the US as well, w/ hits like - 'Wonderwall' ... 'Champagne supernova' ... 'Roll with it' ... "Don't look back in anger'... 'Morning glory'... However, Oasis was plagued w/ infighting between the Gallagher brothers, as well as drug and alcohol abuse... 3rd album 'Be here now' in 1997 was deemed sonic excess doing too many drugs... but still sold massive numbers. The band released a collection of non-album tracks in 1998 as 'The Masterplan'... In 1999, both Bonehead and Guigsy quit Oasis, ending the original line-up. Oasis returned in 2000 w/ a mellow record 'Standing on the shoulder of giants'... which was essentially a Noel Gallagher solo record. Gem Archer (guitar) and Andy Bell (bass) joined the band and did the 2002 album 'Heathen chemistry'... Oasis was still huge in Europe and S. America but their popularity in the US had dropped after the 90's ended... Drummer Alan White quit in 2004. Oasis seemed to climb in popularity in 2005 w/ the album "Don't believe the truth'... the single 'Lyla' and the world tour was a success... Their final album 'Dig out your soul' was released in 2008... After one fight too many w/ Liam on tour in 2009, Noel Gallagher quit Oasis and broke the band up. Noel Gallagher went solo w/ The High Flying Birds in 2011... Liam Gallagher did the band Beady Eye until 2014, before launching a successful solo career in 2017 performing Oasis hits and solo music. In 2024, Liam and Noel apparently reconciled and announced a 2025 Oasis reunion tour across the world that has sold out so far...

After the Manchester terror attack of 2017, which killed 22 concert goers, and injured more than a thousand, there was a vigil a few weeks later, and after a minute’s silence was observed a spontaneous sing-along of “Don’t look back in anger” broke out amongst the crowd. I remember watching it and just being in awe. Noel Gallagher was asked in an interview about it and he said he still gets emotional when he sings it to this day, and takes great pride in having people use it as an anthem.

What a beautiful song. And Oasis being one of my mom's favorite bands will always make their songs extra special to me. I've actually never listened to the live version before even though it was filmed on my country, but the moment the audience started shouting the lyrics so hard I *knew* the chorus was going to be precious. Oasis just has something to it that sticks with you. Such peaceful songs. I was in a music shop inside a mall the other day and when this and other Oasis songs played as background music everyone who was visiting the shop sang along them. They sang them under their breath, as if they were only singing them to themselves. But it was easy to hear because all of them (or should I say us) were. That was a small wholesome moment.

This is Noel playing a very laid back version in 2009 for constrast I recommend watching him play this same song in 1996 at Maine Road, you'll see how intense he was on the very same track. And then there's Liam, endless mindblowing vocal performances in the mid 90s from Oasis. Don't go away at G-mex 1997 is one example, Champagne Supernova at Earl's Court 1995, Slide Away at Knebworth 1996. You can really go on a journey here with Oasis

Hi Aileen 😊 After reading all the comments, and after my comment a couple days ago after enjoying your reaction to this beautiful gift, the KZbin community clearly express their immense love to you. They know that you enjoy experiences when the audience so enthusiastically sings back the lyrics to a band song... This touches your heart in a most profound way and so the KZbin community finds videos in order to show you how much they love you. Sure, there are comments for you to listen to the studio version or watch the official video, which both are great; however, the intention of this selection is to show the great love the KZbin community as for you. Having said all this, I would like to present the meaning the songwriter had of the song to you... Noel Gallagher..."It's about not being upset about the things you might have said or done yesterday, which is quite appropriate at the moment. It’s about looking forward rather than looking back. I hate people who look back on the past or talk about what might have been." As you have always said...art is interpretive. Even the meaning of his explanation can be quite different in a person's life and yet it does have a universal question in mind. In the end, there has to be a moving forward. All the recommendations are great and I look forward to enjoying your reactions and analysis to each of them. Have a great day you and Arya with much love 😊👍💪❤️👑👑 PS As a final thought... Noel Gallagher..."I did it live for the first time at Sheffield Arena. Should people put their lives in the hands of a rock n’ roll band? If it’s us then, yeah, I think they can." ❤️❤️ Much love to you and Arya ❤️❤️

The video used to have over 20 million views years back but got taken down and now reposted. What I love most about this performance is the insane odds of Noel’s storied life. What are the odds a lad from working class Manchester would be a roadie for the inspiral carpets at River Plate stadium in the late 80’s and then twenty years later play to a sell out crowd himself as arguably the greatest singer songwriter in music history? 1 in a billion. Besides the scores of anthems he wrote in oasis not to mention literally a hundred B sides that any band would kill for as a single just look at the music Noel has produced in the HFB’s from 2009 after oasis broke up til today. Noel has been releasing the most incredible music into his mid fifties and way past his prime that no one else in history has equaled: Not McCartney, Lennon, Lynne, Mercury, Townsend, Joel or John. All geniuses in their own right but none have accomplished what the Chief has done. After 30 years of following oasis, I finally got to see Noel in west Palm beach last year. Couldn’t snag a ticket for the oasis reunion tour in England or N America but hey, if it’s meant to be it will be meant to be. Great reaction as always. Love your emotional videos and personal life perspectives.

@@betacall9634 I like oasis but of course he isn’t the greatest. Have you heard of the Beatles lol. Obviously Lennon McCartney or Dylan the best. They’re good but not that good and I was a huge fan as a kid and love Manchester (and lived here for 25 years )
@betacall9634Ай бұрын
@@thomasmatthews80what I’m saying is no one wrote more anthems than Noel. I grew up on the Beatles. And no one wrote more hit songs 25 years past their prime. It’s no coincidence that not a single band (Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, a million other bands never wrote a meaningful song or album after they turned 40). Most people’s creative genius happens in their late teens and twenties and a little in their thirties. Have you listened to every album Noel has put out since 2009? It’s absolutely insane. His songs stand up to anything he wrote in oasis in 1994-1997. Even Paul McCartney will admit Noel is a freak of nature. So will Jeff Lynne. Also both musical geniuses but their longevity can’t compare. Did the Beatles write more incredible songs in a short 8 years span than anyone in history? Yes. But Paul had John Lennon as a writing partner who wrote and co wrote with him. They also had the greatest music producer in history genius George Martin. Noel had neither writing partner or producer of George Martin’s level. Yet Noel at 56 years old is still cranking out hit after hit. How can that be? It’s impossible? No it’s not. Because I contend Noel Gallagher is singularly the greatest songwriter in music history. By comparison Billy Joel who’s also one of the greatest songwriters in history just finally released one new single after a 30 year hiatus which was written for him. And I’m the biggest Billy Joel fan there is. Noel is on par with McCartney, Lennon, Jeff Lynne and Billy Joel. And he just may be considered better to many cuz his creativity never left him in old age. That’s my point my friend. But just who is the absolute best is subjective.

Noel's smile in this recording always gets me, it was a moment of true happiness for him. To put things into context, just a few months after this gig, Oasis split up and from all the accounts it was pretty miserable time for all those that were involved with the band back then. In fact, during their very last concert, Noel can be seen crying during a guitar solo. Happy to see the boys have finally set their differences aside and reconciled. Oasis coming back is just a bonus, what's truly important is that Noel and Liam are brothers again.

My favourite song since I first heard it almost 25 years ago! Always a magical experience, especially standing in the crowd and singing it together with other people, did it a couple of times live. Few months back I asked my fav tattoo artists if she could come up with her interpretation of Sally - a girl who's looking at her life and has no regrets - turned out great ;) since then the song means even more to me :))

Welcome to the oasis rabbit hole lol. There's actually 2 singers depending on the song. Liam and Noel. Always try and do a live version if your reacting. Especially the 'maine road', 'knebworth' and 'wembley' gigs! They were huge in the 90s. I still listen almost daily to their stuff!

This video is so good because it's a mix of an impressive song that fits so well in concert with people involved and best crowd ever. There is another good example of this with the song "Morning Glory" in Argentina. Another interesting songs, "Live Forever" and "Slide Away", live of course. This is the band of "Wonderwall" i'm sure you heard. I like some reactions guy that said, "yeah, i heard this song because i am human" lol

Such a great reaction! For the next one do a song where his brother Liam is the singer, Wonderwall or Champagne Supernova would be great!

This made me tear up.. I grew up with Oasis and their album back in the 90's was truly a masterpiece. Super Sonic and Champagne Supernova are two you should consider. 😊 however, they have so many great ones!

For something not completely unrelated, there’s an awesome music related manga called BECK, the mangaka is a huge music lover and put loads of references in it, you’d love it, and there’s a scene that gives me the exact same emotion in it, when they’re on stage with the band and for some (no spoilers) reason, the sound doesn’t work anymore and the crowd starts singing the song… waterfall tears moment ❤️🩹
