A very dope reaction 🥳🥳🥳! Can You Feel It was released as the second single released from The Fat Boys 1984 album: Fat Boys. It was written by The Fat Boys, Dave Ogrin and Kurtis Blow. It was produced by Kurtis Blow. Background vocals provided by: Alyson Williams, Angie Blake, Audrey Wheeler and Frances Johnson. It sampled: At A Darktown Cakewalk by Charles Hale (1899). The song reached #27 on the Rap chart. No info on the music video available besides that it was filmed in St Croix, US Virgin Islands. Yes, they were having a very good time. And the beatboxing hand claps in front of The Human Beat Box's mouth was very dope at that time. The Fat Boys Info 📰: The Fat Boys were a Hip-Hop group from Brooklyn, New York who emerged in the early 1980s. The group was briefly known originally as "The Disco 3", comprised of the group members: Mark "Prince Markie Dee" Morales, Damon "Kool Rock-Ski" Wimbley and the group's DJ Darren "Human Beat Box" Robinson. The Fat Boys sold over 2,650,000 albums as a group. Beloved for their comedic, self-deprecating rhymes, the group released seven studio albums, four of which went Gold and one that went Platinum as per the RIAA. The group's best selling album is: "Crushin'" (1986), which sold over 1,100,000 album copies. The group also starred in three films in the 1980s: Krush Groove, Knights Of The City and Disorderlies. The Fat Boys are widely known for being one of the first, if not the first, to use the human beatbox element in their songs. The group opened doors for many beatboxers including: Biz Markie, Emanon, Kenny Muhammad The Human Orchestra, Ready Rock C, Wise (Stetsaonic), Rahzel and Doug E Fresh. The Fat Boys were one of the first rap groups to release full-length rap albums along with Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, The Sugarhill Gang, Run-DMC, Whodini, UTFO and Kurtis Blow. The first two albums of the group were produced by established Hip-Hop star Kurtis Blow. Successful singles included: "Jail House Rap", "Can You Feel It?", "Fat Boys", "Stick 'Em", "Don't You Dog Me", "All You Can Eat", "The Fat Boys Are Back" and "Pump It Up". Their 1986 album: Crushin', received a Platinum status due to their crossover single: "Wipeout", which was recorded together with the American rock group The Beach Boys. The group's next album: Coming Back Hard Again, repeated the formula of the previous one and received a Gold status due to the successful single: "The Twist (Yo, Twist)", recorded together with American rock 'n roll singer Chubby Checker. The album also included the theme song: Are You Ready For Freddy?, for the 1988 movie "A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master", which featured Robert Englund performing as Freddy Krueger in the song's music video. In 1983, Charles Stettler, the owner of his own record label: Tin Pan Apple, decided to hold a hip-hop talent contest. In order to find a sponsor, Charles Stettler went to the WBLS radio station, which recommended him to a couple of sponsors. In the end, he persuaded the company Coca-Cola to finance the contest. For the next three months, contests were held to identify a winner in each borough of New York City every Saturday afternoon. On May 23, 1983 the final contest entitled "Coca-Cola And WBLS present: The Tin Pan Apple After Dark Dance & Rap Contest!", was held at Radio City Music Hall. The host that evening was Mr Magic from the legendary WBLS radio program "Rap Attack". According to the terms of the competition, the contest winner would receive for a recording contract. The Fat Boys' group members, then calling themselves "The Disco 3", were unexpected winners with their song: "Stick' Em". In 1983, The Disco 3 released their debut single: "Reality". It was produced by James Mason, a Jazz guitarist/keyboardist in Roy Ayers' Jazz-Funk band. The group's manager, Charles Stettler, then took the group on a European bus tour. Upon returning from their European tour Charlie Stettler introduced the group to rapper and music producer Kurtis Blow, who helped them find their signature sound. To work on the album, Kurtis Blow recruited the drum machine programmers of Run-DMC, Larry Smith and Davy "DMX" Reeves, who were considered two of the best at making songs at the time. Their contest winning song: "Stick' Em", was the first song they recorded with Kurtis Blow. The group's 1984 self-titled debut album: Fat Boys, is considered by many to be the first Hip-Hop album to feature the element of Hip-Hop known as beatboxing on record. Darren "The Human Beat Box" Robinson was a Hip-Hop pioneer in beatboxing. One day in 1984, Russell Simmons, President of Def Jam Records, went into Charles Stettler's office and told him that he was going to have a festival titled Fresh Fest Tour '84, in which his groups and break-dancers would take part. Since Charles Stettler raised $300,000 from Coca-Cola to finance his 1983 talent contest, Russell Simmons wanted Charles Stettler to do it again. Charles Settler could not get Coca-Cola to commit to sponsoring the tour, so he called a friend of his and asked him if there was anything they were trying to sell and/or market. The Swatch wristwatch turned out to be such a product. Charles Stettler then persuaded the company to finance a tour of $360,000, while the festival was renamed "The Swatch Watch New York City Fresh Fest". Russell Simmons did not want to take The Fat Boys on the tour, because nobody had heard of them at that point. Charles Stettler then went to an old Tower Records store on 4th Street and Broadway, and handed out 5,000 flyers that read: "Guess the weight of the Fat Boys and the person who does wins 800 cans of Diet Pepsi and one dollar". Thousands of children lined up at the Tower Records store to participate. Charles Stettler put the group members on the scale; at that time they weighed 868 lb (394 kg) together. In the end, a boy from Harlem won. Channel 2 News filmed this event, including the delivery of the soft drinks. The next day, Charles Stettler saw in the newspaper that The Jackson 5 was going to be reuniting at a concert in October 1984. He called his wife and part-time partner, asking her to write a press release saying that The Jackson 5 have picked the then-still-unknown group The Fat Boys as their opening act. Charles Stettler distributed this press release across the city. The next morning, The Fat Boys appeared on the TV show: Good Morning America. Russell Simmons then agreed to add The Fat Boys to the concert lineup of the festival, which included Run-DMC, Kurtis Blow, Whodini, Newcleus and The Dynamic Breakers. The first concert of the tour took place on Labor Day, September 3, 1984. For 27 concerts across the United States, the organizers raised $3.5 million. In 1985, this was followed by Fresh Fest II, which included the same acts, with Grandmaster Flash And The Furious Five replacing Newcleus. At the time, the American office of the company Swatch was tasked with trying to advertise its product to American audiences. The company was known for using offbeat campaigns, and agreed to feature The Fat Boys in a commercial for the watches on MTV. The video "Brrr, Swatch ’Em!" was aired in December 1984. Swatch again featured The Fat Boys in a 1985 Christmas ad created by former MTV creative heads Alan Goodman and Fred Seibert. This commercial: "Swatch Watch Presents A Merry Christmas", was first broadcast in December 1985. These commercials were notable, because when they aired in December 1984, MTV did not feature many Hip-Hop artists in their music video programming, having only started airing music videos from rap artists earlier that year with Run-DMC’s crossover hit song: “Rock Box”. Due to the success of these commercials, The Fat Boys would become frequent guests on MTV, pioneering a space for Hip-Hop artists to appear on the network and ultimately increasing Hip-Hop's popularity and legitimacy with MTV's viewing audience. Also because of those Swatch watch commercials, the group developed a reputation for their sense of humor which they would carry over to the movie screen. The Fat Boys starred in several feature films. Their first starring role came in the 1985 Hip-Hop movie: Krush Groove, followed by an appearance in the 1986 movie: Knights Of The City and a second starring role in the 1987 film: Disorderlies, which also featured Ralph Bellamy as a millionaire invalid cared for by his good-natured yet inept orderlies- played by The Fat Boys. Hoping to repeat the success of Run-DMC and Aerosmith with their collaboration single: "Walk This Way", The Fat Boys made a cover version of the song: "Wipeout", together with rock group "The Beach Boys". The single peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 10 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. The song" "Wipeout", reached #2 on UK Top 100 in September 1987 during a 13-week chart run. "Wipeout" was the last song the group members recorded for their 1986 album: Crushin'. ****CONTINUE BELOW****

The group was later approached to record the theme song for the 1988 film: A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, and the group came up with the song: Are You Ready for Freddy. Their next album: Coming Back Hard Again (1988), repeated the formula of the previous one. This time, The Fat Boys recorded a cover version of the song: "The Twist" with Chubby Checker, who performed it originally in 1960. The single peaked at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 40 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. The song: "The Twist (Yo, Twist)", reached number two on UK Top 100 in July 1988 during a 11-week chart run. Another remake cover song from the album: "Louie Louie", originally a 1957 song by American singer Richard Berry, peaked at number 46 on UK Top 100 on November 5, 1988 for 4 weeks. However, the tastes of the Hip-Hop listeners at that time had already changed. The Fats Boys tried to update their sound on their 1989 album: On And On, but the singles: Lie-Z (#81 Rap chart) and Just Loungin' (#86 on the Rap chart) barely made any noise in the Hip-Hop community before Prince Markie Dee left the group in 1991 in order to pursue solo interests. In 1991, the remaining two group members: Kool Rock-Ski and The Human Beat Box, carried on as a duo and released the album: Mack Daddy, but shortly thereafter, the group disbanded. In the 1992 feature film: Boomerang, Chris Rock's character laments the breakup of The Fat Boys. Prince Markie Dee produced many songs for artists including: Mary J Blige, Christopher Williams, Craig Mack, Marc Anthony and El DeBarge. He was a writer and producer on Mary J Blige's debut album: What's The 411? (1992), including co-writing and co-producing her hit song from that album: "Real Love", along with the songs: Slow Down, Changes I've Been Going Through and Sweet Thing. Prince Markie Dee released his first album: Free, in 1992 as "Prince Markie Dee And The Soul Convention", scoring the hit singles: "Trippin' Out" (#25 R&B) and Typical Reasons (Swing My Way) (#29 R&B). The album Free featured then unknown R&B singers Billie Lawrence (So Happy, Trippin' Out, I Don't Wanna Lose Your Love) and Joe (The Aftermath). Prince Markie Dee would release a second solo album in 1995: Love Daddy, that would again feature Joe on the song: "All My Love All The Time". On December 10, 1995 Darren "The Human Beatbox" Robinson passed away 🙏🏿👼🏿 🪦 from a heart attack during a bout with respiratory flu in Rosedale, Queens, New York. He was only 28 years old at the time. The Fat Boys were in talks concerning a reunion album at the time of his passing. The surviving members of The Fat Boys launched their first official internet homepage: OriginalFatBoys.com, on November 5, 2008. According to the website, The Fat Boys recorded their first track in nearly two decades and had plans of doing a reality TV show in search of a new group member. In March 2009, Kool Rock-Ski announced the launch of his official website: KoolRockSki.com, as well as his first solo project the EP: Party Time, was released on April 14, 2009. He also underwent a tremendous weight loss and had a new slimmed down appearance in comparison to his rapping glory days. From 2008 to 2010, Prince Markie Dee served as the afternoon drive radio host/DJ at 103.5 The Beat WMIB radio in Miami, Florida He subsequently worked at WEDR 99.1 FM in Miami as well. He last worked at the Rock the Bells Sirius XM station hosting his own show: The Prince Markie Dee Show. On October 18, 2010 TV One aired an Unsung episode titled: "Unsung: The Story Of The Fat Boys". It mentioned that the two surviving members reunited and were touring with Doug E Fresh who was providing the beatboxing for their shows. The Unsung episode also detailed how the group's management cheated them out of their money as well. On February 18, 2021 Prince Markie Dee passed away🙏🏽 👼🏽🪦from a suspected heart attack the day before his 53rd birthday; according to TMZ, Prince Markie Dee had gone to the hospital complaining of chest pains. It was determined a stent was needed to clear blockage in his heart, but he passed away before the stent surgery could be completed. Kool Rock-Ski is last known to have been residing in New York City and is the last surviving member of The Fat Boys. He has active IG and Facebook accounts. He still makes occasional featured appearances on songs and on stage live performances. Ah you finally did the fat boys and one of their best songs too. This song brings back memories. These guys were just as big as Run DMC at this time. He's beat boxing..that's a missing part of hip hop....along with many other aspects we enjoyed back then. We would often debate who was better, the Fat Boys, Run DMC, Whodini or LL...this song was out around 1984...They are from NY....2 of the members past away....the guy doing the beat box past away in the 90s and the first rapper in the video died about 2 yrs ago........... You should react to Salt N Pepa's song called Tramp...check out the video. Also check out the other Fat Boys song called The Fat Boys are Back which was also a big hit.

If you cup your hands and put them together like as in prayer, keep your fingers rigid, and clap. You'll feel a little puff of air coming out from just above where your thumbs meet. With practice you can get some pretty powerful little puffs! Then open your mouth, kinda like your mouth got stuck saying the letter "O". When you clap, the puffs of air make a "popping" sound. The Fat Boys had a of us in 1984 learning how! I'm 51, and can still beat box to their songs! Nice reaction.

Their stuff was so fun. (and funny!) Sure, it has an element of humor - but, it's "Funky and Fresh". Not bad for 1984. Better times. Before Rap / Hip Hop got tough and Gangsta. (No curse words, ho's or bitches) Just good clean fun.
