There are a few Slowmotion Videos that show it, but Cats "Always land on their feet" because they are able to twist in midair. If they are falling backwards the twist around until they are feet forward again. This also means that this only works at certain hights. the fall has to be long enough for the twist to work _and_ after a certain hight no amount of twisting is saving anything organic.

The height has to be at least 5 feet for it to work. Sources: im 6 foot and hold cats like babies and just open my arms and they always complete the flip from chest height.
