Halo 📽️ Vanessa the Brave 😀 🏞️ ⚔️ " The Story of a Man with a Free Soul... And the Courage to Follow It" Great Filmmaking with a Powerful Message about Freedom that Rings True for All of Us to this Day. A Iconic & Captivating Performance by Mel Gibson , I like the passion , unpredictable style & flair he brings to his Roles. All the Characters were well - developed & believable , I liked that some funny scenes were also thrown in.James Cosmo a familiar face that's been around forever. A Memorable Score by James Horner that stirs every Scot with pride whenever we see those Mountains. I was impressed by the young actor ( James Robinson) who played Wallace , it's hard to imagine witnessing something so harrowing at a early age like that , life must have been more fleeting & brutal back then. Wise words from his father " I know you can fight but it's our wits that make us men ". I'm sorry you were reminded of your father's loss again , you have my deepest sympathy 🙏 . It was a endearing moment when Murron(Catherine McCormack) shared the Thistle 🌸 with William , it's clever of the script with it also being the flower that symbolizes Scotland. It must be something special to grow up with someone you've always loved & there's probably less risk of having your heart broken. I know there's a lot of criticism about how the movie plays fast & loose with history (Prima Nocta never happened but necessary to the plot to feel sympathy for the Scots) but Gibson never attended it to be completely accurate to what it was & was more interested in creating a story around the myth to inspire & move the audience. There's little known about the real William Wallace other than a few recounting & Blind Harry's epic Poem that Screenwriter Randall Wallace took inspiration from. They did fantastic job of blending drama with romance in contrast to the big action set pieces . The scene with Murron running out into the rain to take a ride with Wallace away from her parents was adorable , your spot on about romantic gestures it does go a long way. Your good at picking on what's about to happen but this movie kept us on the edge of our seats with some twists & turns. The fight against the English soldiers at the garrison was savage (Medieval Mace) how do they make it look so realistic. It was shocking the way Murron live was taken so suddenly , didn't even have a chance to put up a fight or die in honor , such cowards. It's common theme when it comes to Story's about Heroes out for vengeance (the Punisher / Road Warrior are modern day examples) it's always family or someone close that you love that's killed. The Political intrigue between the Clans , lowland gentry & the King was mostly that way , full of betrayal not knowing who to trust & power , wealth & land meant more than your loyalty to your country. Patrick McGoohan( also famous for the Prisoner TV series from the 60s playing a free man trying to escape from the village ) was superb as the sinister Edward the first & probably wouldn't think twice about throwing someone out of the window. Princess Isabelle was beautiful , in reality she was just a child at the time & wouldn't have delivered any treaty to Wallace but they got it about french being spoken in court & Wallace was versed in it to. There is a letter that was discovered in the tower of London sent to Wallace from King Philip the 4th of France that tells us much about the people & politics of the era which you can read at the national records & archives of Scotland Oct 1 2018 open book & find out anything you want to know at undiscovered Scotland & Britannica online. I appreciate you taking the time to edit such a long film , hope your wrist is okay , I don't why it got blocked , I shared it during those few hours anyway, was it just the US maybe you can explain more about it later if you want. I Apologize for posting late but you know how it is now it's flu season , I've only just recovered. I'll make sure to include some more Trivia & leave a comment on part two ( I've already watched it) along with about how the Battles were Choreographed too .Muchas Gracias , Bi gu math - take care , Tioraidh - Goodbye Vanessa 🤗 🎭 💗 ✌️

In real life, the Battle of Stirling was actually the Battle of Stirling Bridge. Instead of using long spears to stop the Calvary charge on open ground. Wallace and his men waited for the English to cross a long narrow bridge over a river. When half the English, with the Commanders in the lead crossed, Wallace and his men attacked. The bridge was too narrow for the English to come over more than two horsemen side by side or three men across on foot. In the chaos, the other half of the English forces were trapped on the bridge, while their Commanders and Calvary, were wiped out. English soldiers were not trained to think for themselves, only follow orders. So when their Commanders were all killed, they turned and fled back across the bridge, not knowing what else to do. The remainder of the English troops fled, with Wallace and his men in pursuit, killing some of them and attacking and seizing the English army's supply train, with all their food and other provisions. It was considered by many historians a brilliant tactical play by Wallace.

I am Scottish. Historically it’s way off, but it’s a great film, really entertaining. Know a couple of folk that were in the film. My favourite character has to be Stephen the Irishman (played by a Scottish actor btw). I also liked Angus MacFadyen as Robert the Bruce (there is a sort of sequel to Braveheart, where he reprises his role as Robert the Bruce). Always wanted to see a big budget film of the Bruce, as he is probably a bigger Scottish hero. I mean Mel Gibson was good as Wallace, but the other 2 mentioned were my favourite characters in the film.

13:18 "That's right, because... they wear shirts (skirts), right? 😄😄" Oh. No, no, Vanessa. They wear _kilts._ There's a key difference. Under skirts, _underwear_ is worn. So if a man is, in fact, actually wearing a _kilt,_ there's nothing _under_ it. So in Scotland, if you catch a man ostensibly wearing a kilt, but he has _underwear,_ then he owes you two _beers._ That's the standard penalty. So when Wallace observed, "Well, my kilt'll fly up, but I'll try," he was basically predicting that his... eh, _business_ would be on full display. It was an act of mischief.

4:35 "Don't you have a mother?" Well, Vanessa, here we come to a key difference between a biopic and a documentary. Documentaries have a reputation for being kind of dull because of their willingness to sacrifice drama for _accuracy._ Biopics, on the other hand, are generally more fun to watch because of their willingness to sacrifice accuracy for _drama._ _Braveheart_ is a _biopic._ It's a lot of fun to watch, but it's not true, for example, that in real life, Wallace's father died when he was a child. He was, in fact, still around when Wallace was an adult. But, son of a gun. You know, Vanessa, his mother had actually never occurred to me before, so I did a little research. Records from this time and place are _very_ sparse, but William Wallace's mother's name was Lady Margaret Crawford. She lived from 1251 to 1291, so if this is the year 1280, this was the year she turned 29. She really should be _around,_ somewhere.

Not only that but William Wallace's father more than likely named Alan Wallace (as is a letter he wrote to the mayor of Lubeck in Germany on the 10th October 1297, with his seal with the writing Alani Walais and a bow and arrow in the middle, are a number of people it could be attributed to being his father non of them being a farmer or a commoner for that matter. Also its interesting that the name Wallace or Walais (are a number of spellings of the name), but quite essentially means family from Wales, that name stemming from the Romans meaning foreigner as they'd have spoken a language they wouldn't have had a clue how to use (language of Cymru pronounced Cumry).

Holly mother of films, this reaction, on one of my absolute favorite movies is just priceless...... The edditing (including the meme adding), the fact that u took your time and distributed it on 2 parts, the emotions (sentiment combine with your special crazy sense of humor) and the authenticity overall, are some of the attributes, that makes this, the best reaction ive seen jet, on this film and i watched a lot of Braveheart reactions. Its kinda funny, that at 1st, my inpression wasnt the best at all (only first 30 min or so, then something happened....), cause the thumbnail alone, got me biased....But then u got me and now im a fan. Since this was a pretty intense and emotional film for you, Vanessa, I will recommend a series of classics to lighten the mood: "Star Trek" with the original (OG) and best cast. Fun space adventures. Star Trek: The Motion Picture (Director's Cut) Star Trek Original TV Show ("Space Seed" Season 1, Episode 22 - It introduces Khan) Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (Director's Cut) Star Trek III: The Search for Spock Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home Optional - Star Trek V (it's considered one of the lesser films due to studio budget cuts and interference, and the story stands alone from the other films) Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (Theatrical Cut) The comedy classic homage to Star Trek... "GalaxyQuest."
