Hi Vanessa. I work as an illustrator for history books. The story of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce have been part of my work. I became an instant fan of actor Angus MacFadyen who played Robert The Bruce. I was thrilled when he was able to reprise the role in the 2020 film Robert The Bruce. It is a fitting sequel to Braveheart. It is a more grounded story of the Bruce’s darkest hours, hunted by the English and Scottish rivals. Trying to stay alive and rally the Scots to their victory at Bannockburn. A very brief summary of his story is in the final narration of Braveheart. I love Robert The Bruce as much as Braveheart. There is no evidence that The Bruce betrayed Wallace. To the Scots The Bruce is Braveheart.

I enjoyed your reaction! after having watched not only the movie, but also reaction videos of it many times, I never realized until recently that William was continued to be tortured on his lower part of the body. The camera was so subtle that I never realized the side movements of the executioner. Under these circumstances, it now makes much more sense why the crowd got convinced to show him mercy, but most of all his last words under this condition which makes it so much more power- and meaningful.

The last battle's in Scotland's Anthem isn't it? It's a wonderful song. Love hearing it in Murrayfield before their tests when the bagpipes silence for the verse and the crowd takes it. Just got our arses handed to us by them.

One of my favourite scenes was when Wallace saw that Robert the Bruce was on the side of the English. Both reactions from Mel Gibson and Angus MacFadyen were spot on. Do you like Horror films? I recommend you watch ‘Dog Soldiers’, one of my favourite horrors. It’s not the jump out your seat in fear sort of film. No real jump scares, maybe 1 or 2.

Mel Gibson has some good films as a director, for example: The Passion Of The Christ, Apocalypto and Hacksaw Ridge. And if you want to see him as an actor, his most popular movies have been the Mad Max sagas (the original trilogy) and Lethal Weapon.

Another great Mel Gibson directed movie is Hacksaw Ridge a true story about a medic in world war 2 who would not carry a weapon because it was against his beliefs. It's an amazing story that never fails to bring tears to my eyes.
