So neat to see you discovering her. And we get to revisit those great games where she just always delivered. Michigan was a good team, too. And very classy about being on the receiving end of her record(s). Keep 'em coming.

Yes they were. They respected her talent and were very gracious.

Being a Michigander I definitely remember seeing this game live on tv. I had heard a little about Caitlin's skills. Then I started hearing more about her. "Is she really that good I thought?" Then I saw her, in this game. Yep. She's that good and then some. After the first 5 minutes or so I'm yelling at the TV "Pick her up at the half-court! Not the logo, it's too far away!" What she was doing to us had me losing what little mind I had left. But I'm a fan now! *_Go Caitlin! Go Fever!_* 😁

As an Iowa fan, CC loved playing against Michigan. A LOT of big games played against them for her. Probably her first true viral games were wearing the Pink unis at Michigan.

This one was actually her breaking the women’s record. She breaks pistol Pete’s record in the game against Ohio state a few weeks later. Also a great game. But this one is just. Amazing

Man, I wish I had caught on that early. Did it seem back then like Clark was a bit underrated nationally? I mean she was ranked 4th in her class which ain't bad at all, behind Bueckers, Reese, and Brink, but still... I do think that Clark was underrated her freshman yr at Iowa; there's no way she shouldn't have been AP 1st team All-American - she was better than at least 2-3 players who were picked 1st team, and also she was co-national freshman of the yr with Bueckers, who was also national player of the yr - yet Clark couldn't even get voted 1st team?
@TenaciousStudent3 ай бұрын
Same. Living in West Des Moines, it has been since her junior year of high school.

@@darchon5 Yes. She has been doing this for a while. She was shunned because she chose the hard path by going to Iowa instead of a power.

She doesn’t just beat men’s records, she also beats their ratings. The women’s NCAA tourney tv ratings were higher than the men’s tourney this year bc of her, and Fever games got better tv ratings than the NBA finals. It’s insane.

2:40 is when she broke the women's all time NCAA scoring record. It was a few games later she became the ALL-TIME leading NCAA scorer, men's and women's. At the free throw line, no less. FUN FACT: at the presser after this game, she said "c'mon, y'all knew it was gonna be logo 3 for record" (grin). Only CC, am I right?! There is now a 22 on the floor at the spot where she launched that record 3. LEGEND - BABY GOAT.

They've added a logo since that game: it says "22" and it's exactly where Caitlin's feet left the ground to score that record-breaking shot. They've already had to replace it once - because everybody who goes to that arena wants to stand on that spot and see if they can score as well!!

I feel Exactly 💯 like you. I was a huge college football fan and lost my passion in the past few years. Never cared anything for basketball, much less women's basketball. To be completely honest, it's a little bit embarrassing, but I truly did not even know there was such thing as a professionals, women's basketball team. Then i found out about Caitlin and the joy in me. Watching someone that loves what they do so much filled me with happiness. It made me sad that the racism narrative and everything started stealing Rap for me. So I appreciate watching you. Because you literally brought back that first joy, I felt and why I love her so much. It's not because she's white.It's because she is so fun to watch. She literally just makes me happy

I love Caitlin Clark. But remember that in terms of points, Pistol Pete is still the king. Some coach went back and looked at each of his points during his college career and calculated that if there was a 3 point line when the Pistol was playing, Pete would have AVERAGED over 50 points a game instead of the 44 that he's credited for. And he was the best at dribbling and passing as well, but his team needed points from him, so he concentrated on that. In the Women's game Clark IS Pistol Pete.
@geraldhagan56773 ай бұрын
He also did it in 3 years, as freshmen couldn't play on the varsity team back then. As great as Caitlin is, it took her 4 seasons to break Pistol Pete's record.

Watch more highlights of her time at Iowa. She had a coach (Lisa Bluder) who said "Caitlin Clark changed the way I coach basketball". For all her scoring, she had teammates that loved and supported her. THEY knew that SHE made THEM better. Scoring? H3ll yeah, but her assist numbers are insane. If Clark had a coach and teammates in the WNBA that were WITH her, nobody, and I mean nobody would be talking about Angel Reese at this point, especially not in the ROTY conversation. I don't care what happens at the end of this season and who they hand the ROTY trophy to. If you have any sense, you KNOW who the ROTY, maybe MVP of the WNBA is. #CC #22 #BabyGoat. Replace Sides and watch her SHINE. LOVE ME SOME CC!!!!

This shows CC highlights but the whole Iowa team were amazing. They really had mojo and almost telepathy between each other. But as we see Caitlin now with Fever, you can't do it all by yourself! It is funny how black NBA players, black bball reactors/enthusiasts like yourself are giving CC props, but the WNBA and the mainstream media play her down. Interesting!
