First Time Watching *Dr Strange and the Multiverse of Madness* and I had a blast!

G'diddilyday, family and friends! This was definitely something different and I had an awesome time watching it! Could certainly see the Sam Rami touches! Wanda remains to this day, my favourite!

Dr. Strange is my favorite MCU character. He read the Darkhold, and have photographic memory. Now he have the book in his head, he is a living Darkhold

Something that kind of just clicked with me while watching your reaction. When Strange asks Wanda "What about their mother?", she's kind of dumbfounded at first, like she almost didn't realize what she was going to have to do....But. before Strange attacks her, she looks up and sort of smirks. Later when Wanda dream walks for the first time the photograph gives her (838 Wanda) this look of disgust and hatred. At first I thought it was just to be creepy and menacing, but now I realize. Wanda knew from the beginning she was going to have to murder a variant of herself, and she was okay with it. Not only because she wants her kids, but because she's come to absolutely loathe every other variation of herself because they all got a happy ending, and she didn't( something the DarkHold made sure to show her every night she dreamt as a means of further corrupting her). Her motivations, while bat shit crazy, are very layered and offer a deeper insight to Wanda's tragic arch in the MCU.

That's a good point, very well spotted! I feel as if she forced herself to not think of "other Wanda's" as alternate versions of herself and just obstacles in her way.

I remember Agatha told her that once a Spell is cast it could never be changed. I think that’s the reason why she can’t recreate them. Not sure

Well that spell has been broken,, and if they are made in the Hex they are bound to it. That's why the Darkhold showed her visions of the Multiverse and America.

You have to remember A. He was trying to defuse the situation first and B. She was dreamwalking into 838 Wanda, so killing her kills 838 Wanda, who is innocent.

You know what’s even funnier even if they had killed that (body) Wanda is still in the 616 universe at Mt Wondergore and could just resort back to doing exactly what she was at the start of the film and just send monsters and demons after Chavez no matter what universe she went in and I’m sure if she can sent multiple with enough will power and force she could just send an army (infinite amount) to keep going until everyone in the way was removed 😳 When you take a step back and actually look at what Wanda was doing had the plot not required her to give up at the end and allow the film to end itself she wouldn’t either won and succeed or just kept ripping through the multiverse with no one stepping in to stop her otherwise they would’ve in this film the moment she started do just that because how long do you think she was doing exactly that before the movie started because Chavez stated she was on the run for a while before even Defender Strange 🤷‍♂️ This film next to Infinity War is the one other film i actually wanted the villain to win, not only would it of been a more surprising and shocking end but also a more logical way to sideline or bench Wanda as a character or even write her out of the MCU if that’s what they wanted 🤷‍♂️

In case no one has mentioned it, Wanda isn't a red head, think back at age of ultron, Civil War or even wandavision, when they show her as a kid. The red hair comes when her and vision have to go into hiding after Civil War.

Some people say Wanda dyed her hair to go undercover after the Civil War fiasco and other people theorize that her hair grew redder with the more magic she used and developed. Notice how her hair was the reddest its ever been in WandaVision, which is when she officially becomes the Scarlet Witch and begins gaining control of her Chaos magic.

Yeah, the Bruce Campbell cameo in this one... that's 100% because Sam Rami directed this movie... and you can the Evil Dead vibes throughout it. That's a lot of why it felt so different as a Marvel movie.

25:21 it's because she's naturally a brunette, but she has red hair in this universe because of the sokovia accords. She's been on the run so her hair's been a diff colour to hide her identity and was dusted with her red hair in infinity war, but MoM is happening very shortly after endgame and wandavision when she came back. xx

I really wish they would've shown the darkholds power over her more and how it twisted her mind... But you can tell at the end with the whole "I would never hurt you, i would never hurt anyone" that it had rooted itself so deeply that it was hiding all of that pain from her and only pushing her toward her goal. I also wish that The Darkhold had a purpose for manipulating her, like it had a mind of its own and we could hear whispers or something instead of just making her seem crazy and easily manipulated

It kinda does. The Darkhold states that its the Scarlet Witch's destiny to rule or annihilate the universe, so most likely, the Darkhold was trying to corrupt Wanda to get her to use her power to take America Chavez's power of multiversal travel to then gain access to all universes and enslave them all. Which is why Strange said "If she gets America's powers, she could enslave the entire multiverse", aka, she would be able to conquer, basically, all of reality, like what her destiny says she's meant to do.

A lot of the corruption and the books own motivation for Wanda are shown subtly throughout the movie. A perfect example is at Mt Wundagore. When Wong asks her "why take America's power for yourself when you can force her to send you to any reality you choose" Wanda's defense is "what if they get sick? In the infinite multiverse there is a cure for every illness "a solution to every problem" ". The book is mearly using her children and her fear for their well being (as well as Wanda's want and need for control of her own destiny) as a ploy to get Wanda to constantly invade other universes for the benefit of her own children. She was meant to rule everything, or destroy everything either outcome is suitable in the DarkHolds eyes because either way it gets to corrupt and spread like the disease it is. If she rules everything it's gets to corrupt the multiverse, if she destroys everything she gets to recreate it, shaped by the Darkholds ill will.

Let's not forget, Wanda went bad before the Darkhold was involved. She enslaved the town before it was around her. Agatha got involved after she did the deed. Not going to make excuses for her like everyone else, including the characters in the story.

I honestly don't think "our" Wanda died, I think when the "other" Wanda said "know that they'll be loved" I think that was "our" Wanda, telling the boys' actual mother kinda like "I'll beat you any day so just give up, but know I will love your children" And that's why she destroyed the darkhold in all universes, because what happened to her, she never wants to happen to anyone else.

40:00 You are just not smart enough to understand the genius brain of Doctor Strange. He stopped there because that was a part of his plan. He already noticed the bricks up there and calculated that under the bricks, there must be a lot of water passing by since that entire area has lot of water tanks and pipelines. If they kept running it won't help because as you saw wanda hardly took 5 seconds to pass through that door. But he stopped there and executed his spell which threw a lot of water and bricks on Wanda very unpredictably and that bought them significant amount of time, like 2 or 3 minutes.

15:06 i'm expecting this question from someone, to answer that question, the darkhold really corrupted her, well she can just recreate her sons but the darkhold literally changed and persuade her like "here's your sons from another universe, why use reality warping when your sons are more than real here, they're not come magic, you can just steal them from the other you in the universe ".........like that Just my opinion tho

I don't think she can just create them out of thin air without a hex though. And WandaVision showed us that what's made in a hex is bound to the hex :/

Her Westview kids can basically only be recreated in Westview, so even her Chaos magic has its limitations, considering that's recreating 2 living people, not just inanimate objects. Reminds me of Agatha saying "Once cast, a spell cannot be changed", which, to me, solidifies the narrative that our Wanda's kids being tied to Westview can't be changed and she probably knows that.

@@xiamariansupreme72 I agree (sorry for the late ass response). Her kids were real(Monica confirms this in episode 4 and the fact that her children have variants), they were just real in that dimension she created out of Westview. Unfortunately to keep them and Vision meant to keep Westview enslaved, causing moral conflict in Wanda, not to mention a disapproving viewpoint from Vision. So the only logical conclusion for her(in her mind) was to go another universe she could be with them without limitations. It's sad that Strange, a medical doctor, didn't acknowledge this, even if he believed they weren't real Wanda did, and he should have reacted accordingly(especially because at this point in the MCU hes not as pompous as he once was, though still working on his own issues). I really feel that if they tried to talk to her from a sympathetic point of view they could have easily overcome the corruption of the DarkHold and saved so many lives.

As always, women only support women even if she is incorrect.. Doctor Strange was in no way toxic. Christine is the one who cheated on him and friend zoned him. Yes I agree Doctor Strange treated her badly when she came to help him and he was 100% at fault during that. But he realized his mistake and then tried his best to correct it. He wrote hundreds of apology emails to christine and even apologized to her in person when he got the chance. He told her that her small sentence "There are other ways to save lives. This isn't the end, it could be a beginning" is what gave him motivation to change his path. As said by charles Xavier, "Just because someone stumbles doesn't mean they are lost forever" Doctor Strange did make a mistake but he rectified it a long time ago. Christine herself forgave him. But christine is a b*tch and wanted BBC, therefore she married that black man and friend zoned Doctor Strange. Yet, Strange respected her choice and tried to find his happiness in her happiness. Doctor Strange still keeps that watch with him which christine gifted him. Doctor Strange deserves better than Christine and he is going to get a better woman named Clea in the next movie.

I think the main point of this movie is that Wanda was a tragic figure, not an evil one. Same with Darth Vader, you can't forget what they did, but once you know their story, you can only feel sorry for them, and glad that they found redemption in the end.
