Whether or not you choose to react to the original movie, I highly recommend watching it fully it is a classic. That said this movie was HILARIOUS and honestly I loved that it paid homage to the original in little ways. It didn’t try to match the original or do a remake, they just made it it’s own thing.

This was a fantastic reboot of the classic film. Usually movies like this get made as a cash grab and arent original. But i loved how this movie paid homage to the original while also bringing it into the 21st century and poking fun at video game cliches. The cast was fantastic too

In the original movie, Jumanji is a boardgame. It brings Jumanji into our world. Definitely watch it, it's a classic. The sequel to this one is great, too. I loved it just as much!

Sidenote: I loved that they didn't remake the original but picked up where it left off. That's why it didn't get much criticism. It respected the source material and didn't try to do it better. No one could ever replace Robin Williams anyway, may he rest in peace.

DEFINITELY watch the original movie. For one thing, it stars Robin Williams. 😊 True, you don't *need* to have seen it to "get" this sequel, but there are some fun little callbacks. The game-playing dynamics are different, because Jumanji is a board game in the first movie, but some of the underlying structure is the same.

The original is not necessary to watch, but I would recommend it anyway. Despite some questionable CGI due to the age, it's still a banger, and Robin Williams is on top form. The sequel to this movie is just as good as this one, so I would definitely recommend you get around to that too. Love the reaction, you earned a sub from me.
