I don't remember who said this, but when you think about it the only reason the 1st Jurassic Park film isn't considered an adult horror film is because of the kid characters in it. The kids are what makes the film "family friendly," but Jurassic Park also started a trend that not only continued in its films, but also arguably still exists in films today which is having kid characters (most of which are bland or annoying) in films to make the films PG rated instead of PG13 or even R.

Owen Imprinted on the raptors when they were babies, so he isn't just their trainer he fathered them helped raise them. Unlike in the first movie. John mentions imprinting but he never takes the time for the Raptors and him to create a bond. Owen figured out another way to help build up trust, but he is like there parent in his eyes. He is the only one who was ever in the cage with them when they were babies. But you will see that soon in the next movie.

Happy New Year, Angelina! 🎆🎇 So excited that you're continuing the "Jurassic" movie series with the start of the "Jurassic World" trilogy. 😊 This one is my favorite of this trilogy, and maybe my second favorite of all six movies behind the original. Love Chris Pratt and Byrce Dallas Howard in the lead roles. And every once in awhile I'll forget that Vincent D'Onofrio is in this, and gets his arm bitten off by a raptor. Fun Fact: The scene where the pterodactyl's are flying in the park, there's a man grabbing his margarita before running for cover. That was singer Jimmy Buffett(RIP always), who was best known for his song "Margaritaville". I love the end dinosaur fight between the TRex(the same of from the first "Jurassic Park") and Blue vs. the Indominus Rex. Can't wait for "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" next in the trilogy. And looking forward to your next reaction. 😊

To answer your question, Michael Crichton is the original author of Jurassic Park. It was a novel published in 1990. He was also responsible for the original Westworld movie, which the popular tv series is based off of. He wrote a number of popular science fiction novels, many of which became movies.

What are you talking about? Even if this WAS a thing, it clearly isn't anymore (FYI, Jurassic Park is now PG-13 after review in 2023). But it wasn't a thing because movies like Leon: the Professional (1994, a year after JP) or 2003s Monster are both rated R but feature young girls around the age of the kids in JP. Logan and IT also bagged R-ratings back in 2017, and IT is ALL about kids closer to Tim's age in JP. Honestly, I think JP borders on PG/PG-13 because I don't think it's remotely Lord of the Rings: Two Towers tense, but is certainly more tense than Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. If anything, I'd argue JP leans more toward PG than PG-13... but that's what PG means. It's up to the adult or legal guardian to decide if a movie is appropriate for their child. But, now we're nitpicking. Should there be a PG-5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 as well since we have a PG-13 and PG-17 (this is what R is by the way. The wording is practically identical to PG-13, but with 17 instead. The adult only rating is NC-17, or X but X is predominantly used for porn). I saw Jurassic Park at 5 when it was in theaters, in fact I think it may have been the first movie I saw in theaters. I loved the crap out of it, like I did the original Star Wars movies. Why does JP deserve a PG-13 rating, but the Empire Strikes Back is PG to this day after the same review JP got? You can't really articulate why because PG is too subjective- especially at the preteen/early teen end. Hell, there's more proof that your argument falls flat. Empire Strikes Back HAS NO KIDS in it, but is still PG but Jurassic Park is now PG-13. Dismemberment, an extended violent fight scene and a scary ice monster aren't objectional enough to warrant PG-13... but angry dinosaurs is? It has nothing to do with kids being in a film or not, the rating SHOULD be based on the context of the film as a whole and I genuinely do not believe Jurassic Park- as a whole- meets the criteria of PG-13. It didn't back in 1993, when it got a PG rating, and I genuinely don't think it does today. But I'm not on the board of pearl clutching, "think of the children", hypocrites that decide these things and refuse to mark anything with NC-17 when films like Saw II+, Hostel, and Human Centipede are given an R instead of NC-17 which they DESERVED for the gratuitous violence and gore because for SOME reason NC-17 just means sex and even then it typically just means homosexual sex.

12:21 Multiple creatures, more than 5 I think, with one of them being cuttlefish, that's how it gets its camouflage, maybe Spinosaurus as its arms are much too long to be a T Rex,velociraptor as Owen mentioned, a VERY dominant T Rex gene which explains why it's so damn big and believe it or not, STILL not fully grown and possibly even a bit of allosaurus which might explain the 2 prominent bumps above its eyes

The hype for me for finally getting a new Jurassic movie after waiting like 13 years was unbelievable. I’d spent almost my entire childhood praying and hoping that it would come, that there would be a promising edit to the Wikipedia section for Jurassic Park 4. When the kid said “I don’t wanna wait anymore”, man that really got me. And honestly I think Jurassic World is a solid sequel. It expands and moves the world forward, it touches on themes of capitalism, human greed, mistreatment of animals, nature vs nurture. And it has some stunning set pieces. The last battle was a MOMENT that rewrote my brain. And I was so happy when I watched the end credits and heard that beautiful end piece “The Park Is Closed”. I felt catharsis. Finally, Jurassic Park was back. Kid me could be at peace.

@joeydogz2000 11 ай бұрын
@leaness98 for me the problem is beautifully brought up by Ian malcome. You just replace scientists with studio execs. The og jurassic park film has a much smaller personal scale and the focus isn't dino action. It's about the folly of man's relationship with greed and science. Much like scientists movie execs are preoccupied with bottom lines, so they focus on whether they can do something to make money , never stopping to ask if they should do something" jurassic world after the first has almost none of that like at all. Instead we get super soldier raptors running through cities and Jeff goldblum lazily throwing a spear at a super mega mondo dino and it leaves him. Mindless action is awesome but cheaply using a trademark ip is basically just ai art at that point.

So in case if you are wondering what the Indominus Rex was made of, she was made of these animals: Giganotsaurus for the size, Carnotaurus for the horns, Rugops and Majungasaurus for scale ornamentation, Therizinosaurus for the long claws, T. rex, Velociraptor, Tree Frog to adapt to any environment and Cuttlefish to camouflage. A real definition of a monster. Note that this T. rex in this movie is the same from Jurassic Park 1993 and her name is Rexy/ Roberta but I prefer Rexy.

10:01 The Indominus as far as I know it's part T-Rex, part velociraptor, and the rest of the DNA gaps were filled in with frog and chameleon DNA, which in addition to allowing it to camouflage itself also gave it the ability to manipulate it's body temperature, which is why it was not identified by the thermal sensor, but it was intentional, she put the marks on the wall and hid from the sensor so they would think she had run away and open the door to check so she could really run away This is nearly human level inteligence, this thing is at the very least as smart as a Dolfin

Katie McGrath (Zara) was really hyped about her death scene because she got to do the stuntwork for it. She also died in the most spectacular way which is literally the best as an actor lol.

Fun Fact - If you go into the Jurassic World Behind the Scenes stuff from the DVD or the Blu-ray they have a making of little documentary deal where they talks about how they digitally imposed the high heels and the Raptors it was like a mix of tennis balls on sticks and people in half Raptor costumes it was pretty cool I would recommend.

I love love LOVE that the T. Rex from 'Jurassic World' is the same T. Rex from 'Jurassic Park' 😄 You can see the scars on her face and neck from when the two Velociraptors attacked her in the visitor's center at the end of the first movie.

In case you didn’t know that was the original T-Rex from the first movie fighting at the end, it has the proof of the scars from the raptor fight in the first movie plus the fact it follows the flares.

11:00 "This is on your hands, m'am." Well, not really. Owen had no business entering that cage until he had clearance that the animal was definitely not in there. Claire was on her way to figure that out. Don't blame the lady for his recklessness (or should I say stupidity). Though I do wonder why she had to leave in order to call in.

Fun Fact: Sharks as a species have been around for over 450 million years and the first trees began to grow around 360 million years ago, so sharks as a species are older than trees.

This film was the culmination of waiting for fourteen years after Jurassic Park 3 for a new movie that kept getting stuck in production hell. The theories and ideas about what it would be like were kind of lame but I was so excited, and when it finally came out, I was so effing thrilled. It was everything I could have asked for and more; action/adventure, humor, nostalgia, amazing effects, dino battles...I will always love this movie. The way I screamed in theaters when Claire lit that flare, man. So amazing!

Fun fact! When the nanny died, that was the first time a woman had been killed directly by a prehistoric creature in the entire Jurassic franchise. That's why they made it so brutal. I say "prehistoric creature" because Pterosaurs and the Mosasaurus were cousins to dinosaurs, but were not actually dinosaurs themselves.

14:54 guilty of this as well. I have seven nieces and nephews and don’t know how old most of them are even though I see them 2-3 times a week. 🫣 I can barely remember my age sometimes! 🤣🤣 Numbers don’t stick in my brain.

Excited to see this! I was really hyped for this movie when it came out because I was unreasonably obsessed with the Jurassic park movies as a kid. I love seeing your reactions. Definitely finish the new trilogy. It tries its hand at deeper plot, but the core of it being about dino terror remains. Also I'm glad you said something about her running in those shoes being badass because I remember when it first came out a lot of people criticized the film for putting her in heels in this situation (cause you know, when dinosaurs are loose in your park and people are dying you have time to stop and change your shoes to something more practical). To me it's more badass that she hoofed it in those heels, then if she did in a pair sneakers.
