The actors that play Sanji and Luffy actually got to be really close on set, partly due to them both being native spanish speakers. Apparently it took a really long time for the crew to get all the shots they needed for the Luffy drowning scene, and in between takes the Sanji actor would jump into the water with his costar just to keep him company. Literally no other reason, just hangin out with his bro lol

The young actor who plays young Sanji in the flashback has the main role in tbe series Sweet Tooth. The story of an hybrid half-human half-deer who searches his mother in a postapocalyptic world where people think the hybrids caused the fall of civilization. Good show.

interesting note: because this adaptation takes more from the manga than the anime they kept the whole leg eating thing versus how the anime changed it to make it less gruesome being Zeff getting his leg caught while saving Sanji from the ocean
