New Follower here, this is definitely one of my favorite cheesy movies. I remember as a teenager this movie scared the hell out of me. Now seeing this as an adult I realized one thing, this is still a better love story than Twilight.

As a film this is better than ROTLD 2, but as a ROTLD film it still falls far short of the original. One of the worst aspects of this franchise IMO is how they keep changing the rules of the zombies and infection every film. By the 4th and 5th films (not recommended) most of the zombies don’t even run and they can be kill with a shot to the head.
@NickMeagher-em1bs Жыл бұрын
Yea they mainly stick to the rules of the zombies in this film and the original, but before remember Frank and Freddy didn’t have heartbeats in the original, in this movie the zombie in the beginning does.

Kent McCord (colonel Reynolds) without the Lapd uniform. What a far cry from his Adam-12 days with Martin Milner back in the 70s. And he got cast because the director watched Adam-12 all those years ago. Talk about desperation.

Hey Original Psycho OP,I just wanted to point out that, another reason why I didn't feel bad for Mr. Bartok,is because of what he did to Martin's dog.The poor golden retriever that he had experimented on and then kept it alive for two years(yes,TWO years),without any sort of remorse.

The strangest thing in this movie is that he ignores his own rules, "return of" zombies eat brains but here they eat flesh, return zombies are smart but all out for the brains, here the girl can controll herself and not eat her boyfriend, and also for some reason she is the only smart zombie in the movie

The R rated one has less body mutilation in it. That is a case of nepotism for the son to be allowed to wander the facility. I have always liked this one, but consider it more of a Brian Yuzna/Reanimator movie than a franchise film, although, the zombies in this movie are more like in the novelization of the original movie.
@brion02208 ай бұрын
I think you're the only youtuber to watch this one. Its not as good as the original, thats a given, but its still very enjoyable. And I like the zombie / romance angle. Very unique. Speaking of Brian Yuzna, he also directed the really fun Bride of Re-Animator. The sequel to Re-Animator. Both definitely worth watching. 👍

'Thats so useless and inefficient' Which is even worse when you start asking why all the staff in the room were armed with pistols, which didn't have any effect on the zombies which is why they were doing this experiment in the first place. army logic at its finest The heartbeat thing doesn't make sense either, especially when the fact the dead don't have a heartbeat was a plot point in the first film The hunger stuff makes even less sense, especially the idea that it can be temporarily halted with pain being the thing driving them to eat brains, despite the fact the first two movies were clear on the fact the dead were in extreme pain from rotting and such and eating brains provided something that temporarily stopped the pain I'm still not clear on how the exoskeletons were even supposed to work or what they were supposed to actually do. You had to get behind them to lock them down as shown at the end of the movie so if anything doesn't that make them harder to control and more dangerous? If you're using these things as a weapon what about the zombies that would be created by the ones you send in that don't have those exoskeletons? The gun they're developing makes more sense but I don't think i'd want to be using one of them either if there was a large group of zombies around, especially considering how slow it is to use

Interesting reaction not enough people reacted to Return of the Living Dead 3 (I can understand your points but, trust me this is the type of sequel you have to watch a few times to “Get it” first time i seen it i loathed it… (was 94/95 was still in highschool) Over the last 20yrs or so have a lot of appreciation for it (it’s a much different take on Zombies with some dark subject matter the zombies in ROTL1-3 can all be compared to drug addicts (The need for brains is like a junkie trying to get there next fix) Melinda Clarke’s Julie is one of the most complex and interesting Zombies ever…. It’s easy to write this film off it’s more then a low budget B Movie It’s horrors version of Romeo & Juliet done by a mad genius with Brian Yuzna (In many ways it’s more a sequel to Bride of Re-Animator ) but, for a early 90’s Horror film it’s actually very HQ

Kent McCord was an early '70s TV heart-throb (LA policemen's ADAM-12) and seeming was the handsome West Coast star-to-be. But no, that never happened. This doesn't rank as his worst-ever performance because he's got a relatively small role. And with the #4 film coming up, that film's "name star" Peter Coyote does indeed turn in his worst-ever performance.
@Cbcw76 Жыл бұрын
By the way, this 'serious film' is even more of a hoot if you'll go back and rewatch both RETURN 1 and 2. Then watch this 3 again. And while 4's Peter Coyote is too over-the-top to be even tolerable, the promise of #5 should keep you going. Say - do you pick up hitchikers?

If you have not seen it yet, I recommend checking out Jean Rollin’s film The Living Dead Girl (1982.) I am a big fan of this director though I can understand why a lot of people wouldn’t be after seeing some of his other films-They can be weird, but in a ‘70s’ French sort of way, NOT a Body Horror away. The story is similar and also different, nonetheless worth the watch. One of my favorite, less “sophisticated” reasons for why I love this film is that they really double-down on Curt being a blatant idiot with all of his dumb decisions, (similar to the teenage characters in Society.) Romeo & Juliet meets Frankenstein, plus the Body Horror & “zombies.” I do not like the film as a part of the series, and I don’t even really like it for the plot or most of the characters, but I love the effects and the metaphorical elements. The self harm as a metaphor, and so on and so forth, but also the dumbfounded guy who refuses to recognize that he is not only in over his head but that the woman he says he loves is not the same person and he needs to let her go. With that said, I rewatch the first film all the time, I rewatch this one every so often, (every other year or so,) but I rarely ever rewatch Part 2, and I absolutely never touch the post-Part 3 sequels, and you shouldn’t either 🙏🏼☺️ Godspeed.

There is a reason that this story is full of bad decisions. It is based around young people in love. Young people in love often make terrible decisions. I am not surprised that you are frustrated by their choices and that you didn’t relate to them. That being said, I do think that it does a good job of showing bad choices motivated by youthful passion. You noticed the similarity to Romeo and Juliet (her name was Julie). I was also genuinely moved by the dad fighting to the last moment for his son.
@OriginalPsychoOP Жыл бұрын
I just didn’t have that connection with them. I felt I needed more time with their relationship. I understand being young dumb and in love but when she’s eating biting people, self mutilating, and eating brains like come on my guy what are you trying to do.
