One of the funniest things I saw on live TV was a BBC news interview with one of the Wayans brothers just before the release of this film. He was saying that they weren't doing this one, so if it sucks it wasn't on him. He also in replying to the reporter's question about how to write a Scary Movie he told he he'd get a huge pile of horror dvds and a big thing of weed smoke it all a be like tripping on it. He also addressed the BBC for putting this reporter on him at 8a.m. that she had been up all night smoking crack. Sooooo funny for live morning television 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think your final assessment on the third movie compared to the first two is very fair and I agree. You could tell that the writing was different and didn't really have that certain charm that the first two had even though the third one was enjoyable. Unfortunately it starts to go downhill from here, the fourth one is pretty much like the third one where it still has it's funny moments but personally, it felt even more off than this one did but again, humor is subjective and all that. Funny reaction though lol

Yeah. It's just it felt more modernized like there was a huge time jump. Cindy was older, blonde, no Dwayne Brothers, new main characters, and a very monochromatic color scheme in movies 3 and 4 compared to the more vibrant 1 and 2 if that makes any sense. I still like them a lot but I feel like they're just slightly flatter than 1 and 2. Also less gross? idk. Feels like they started trying to play it safe somewhat. But after 4, I just can't really be entertained by many of the movies they were making.
@Helldog63 жыл бұрын
@@Axxidous I'm in the minority of people who actually don't like the second movie at all. I think it's okay, but it's just gross. And IMO, Gross =/= Funny to me. Scary Movie was funny but clever. They still had gross shit, but it was fairly brief whereas Scary Movie 2 focuses WAY too much on just gross shit, and ends up being more cringe than funny.

An attempt to answer your question about Leslie Neilson taking on "Stupid" character roles. He was trying to break out of his typecasting as an always serious character, like a cop in Dragnet. His very first comedic role was in the movie Airplane which only cast dramatic actors and not one comedian. Neilson enjoyed it so much he just took it on and that became his whole career. I hope that helps answer that question.

@VelkanAngels3 жыл бұрын
@@Helldog6 - Out of the 4 (lol), I do personally think 2 is the worst, cause it just seemed really lacking in creativity. If they made it in a rush, that sure would explain it, cause it seemed like the type of creative jokes they had in the 1st and 3rd were just replaced with "haha poop 'n balls" in the 2nd. Of course some people do think that's very funny, so I'm not saying that makes it objectively bad, just not my personal taste. The parody of The Grudge in the 4th is really funny to me though, so the scenes from that alone puts it above 2 for me xP. Some good stuff in the Signs scenes too. I think they should've just stuck to parody'ing 1 or 2 movies per movie. They started overdoing it from the 3rd and onward, so it just felt like watching a disjointed mess of random scenes from random realities all shoved together.

3.5 was the beginning of the end. The Wayans Brothers were the funny ones and without their influence, every joke that wasn't a reference was stolen from elsewhere. Case and point: The part where the President makes a seriously racially insensitive greeting to the Native Americans, that's lifted directly from the old TV series Spin City, where the major was warned not to do that, then does it anyway. That episode first aired a year and a half before Scary Movie 3.5 was released. So around the time the script was written... Saying that, it was nice of them to reference Nielsen's collective works through the film, even putting a reference to Naked Gun in the title.
