Turtles in general are such cool creatures. I for one love mine. His name is Turt Reynolds. Their shells, while reliable protection, still allow for the sensation of touch. So I would imagine that a ninja turtle using his shell to block would have somewhat of a similar experience as a person wearing body armor and being shot.

Heres your little fun fact: Master Splinter gave each of the turtles weapons that are opposite of the their personalities. Raphael is the most hot-headed/aggressive so Splinter gave him Sais which is a defensive weapon. Donatello is the tech junkie and most intelligent so Splinter gave him a wooden bow, the simplest of all weapons. Michaelangelo is the wild card and least disciplined so Splinter gave him nunchucks, which is one of the most difficult weapons to handle/master. Leonardo is the most heroic, ethical, and disciplined out of all of the turtles. Splinter chose to give him Katanas, the only bladed weapon of the four and the most lethal one.

"This is like Daredevil now. It's Dareturtle." The Ninja Turtles started in the 80's as a parody of Daredevil. It's strongly suggested that the accident that blinded Matt Murdock also mutated the turtles. Daredevil fights The Hand, and the Ninja Turtles fight The Foot.

The TMNT are just the best. While this isn't the best version of them to come out over the years, I still had fun with this one at the time. I've been meaning to see the sequel since I've heard good things considering Michael Bay's involvement. I grew up on a mix of the '87 cartoon on VCR as well as the '03 cartoon on TV, but personally, my favourite TMNT iteration is the 2012 show. Edit: I love them all, but Donatello is my fave.

The sequel is also very fun. I was a huge fan of the OG cartoon and movies from tye 90's. I honestly was avoiding this 9ut of some sense of petty pride, but actually enjoyed it once I gave it a chance. Still not happy with how big they are, but they git each of thier personalities down to a T. Even woth my criticisms, this was still a true TMNT movie and was a lot of fun.

TMNT 2012 was my absolute favorite show when I was younger. I was obsessed. Could tell the turtles apart by the different shades of green on their skin😌🐢 It was also a good way to learn English since the show didn't have subtitles

I feel bad about some aspects of these movies. Alan Ritchson, who is an absolute sweetheart and a HUNK, almost quit acting after his experience playing Raphael in these. They were mistreated beyond belief over the course of these movies, and seen as second class because they were “just mocap actors” and not the “stars.” The actual TMNT, not the stars of their movie. There were weird instances where like, everybody else had gone home because they were cut for the day and the turtles had to worry about getting themselves out of costume and finding a ride home from set. Overworked, underpaid, denied things stipulated in their original contact, just screwed over royally.

Fun TMNT Trivia: If you look up the OG comic's first few pages, where it shows the turtle's origin from the chemical contaminants? It shows a person knocking a blind man out of the way and getting smacked with the chemicals. This is a direct reference to Daredevil's origin story, and without naming names is almost an exact copy. Your comparison to DD is very relevant

It is official canon that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a Daredevil spinoff. in Daredevil, Matt fights against a ninja group called The Hand while the Turtles fight The Foot Clan. Matt Murdocks' mentor is "Stick," the TMNT are trained by "Splinter." In one comic it's revealed the same ooze that mutated them is what made Matt Murdock go blind.

This movie was originally intended to be quite a bit different. The Ninja Turtles were going to have alien origins, and Sachs was going to be "Shredder" in the form of a military general named Schrader. But the script leaked online, generating fan backlash over these changes. So they had to scramble to fix these changes in order to quell the backlash. They changed "Schrader" to "Sachs" and added an actual Shredder late in the process. That's why his face is obscured by darkness and he barely interacts with anyone other than Sachs when he isn't wearing the CGI armor. That's also why the Foot Clan looks less like a ninja gang and more like a paramilitary group. They were supposed to be mercenaries working for Schrader.

Love the theory that the same chemical spill car wreck that blinds daredevil as a kid, is the same chemical that spills down a street sewer drain and lands on the 4 turtles down there. For me, this is one of the best TMNT movies out there so far with the CGI, the casting, the acting, and the amazingly written funny moments. in the old cartoon splinter was human martial arts master (shredder's nemesis who has been fighting him long time) who came in contact with the mutagen and happened to touch a rat ass as well at the same time turning him in to master splinter before coming in to contact with mutagen he fought shredder and that where the turtles aquarium was broken and he touched them and then mutagen spilled at him and the turtles and then he touched a rat, so they were created by splinters fight with shredder

My biggest complaint with this film, is that we don't get our first real look at the leads, until a good 20 minutes into the film. For perspective, that's more than twice as long as it takes, to get our first look at Rick in "Casablanca." And even for an undeniable classic, that's a bit of a stretch.
